  3. I confess that one of my bosses is completely lame and incompetent, and when we have meetings I enjoy asking him questions I already know the answers to just so I can watch him scramble. Dance, puppet!

She spent the night over at our house on Valentine's Day (she invited herself!!), when she comes and visits, it's not for a couple of hours like my parents, but for 8 freaking hours (and she doesn't live far). There's more, but I could go on forever. She is just driving me freaking crazy. It bugs me even more Brian isn't telling her to back off even though he's annoyed too. He says he wants to avoid drama, but I swear, he's so not gonna like it if I snap and tell her to back off. Ewwwww!!! That would drive me mad too and I hope he says something before you flip out on her! Dang Maura, the whole thing sucks One of my dear friends has the same issue with her family and it's to the point where she is getting married next month and not telling any of them because she is afraid they will show up. We can't choose our families and just because you share blood with people doesn't mean you have to like them. Sorry

You can tell he's sober sometimes too because his eyes open...lol His wife seems to be the stronger disciplinarian of the two for sure (did you notice in the opening song/credits how he says he doesn't make his kids eat their vegetables? comedy!).

I wasn't prepared for the beauty of the landscape. Yep, I'd say that's much nicer than your average battlefield! Great shot

  8. I'm not sure how to search within the thread either and there are so many pages to sort through that sometimes it is easier to ask a question, no worries. I will say that the stairs to/from the casita are more steep than the others, but I think even then it could be pulled off with assistance if it had to be. I like your mantra, try to stick with that when you start to freak out. It happens/has happened to the best of us...just breathe and think of your hubby-to-be )

I am starting to wonder if a site visit would really be a necessity for me given the needs of some of our guests. I really love LC because of its remote qualities and terrain but I don't know if it will match the needs of the family members/guests. I will be so disappointed if it's an issue. Thanks! I wrote about this here somewhere but basically we had an older guest with bad knees. She took her time to and from the boat but she was fine. Once you're there you're set, you don't need to do much walking up and down. There are stairs up from the ceremony site to dinner, and back down for the reception, but it's not a race and there aren't 500 stairs. There are also stairs to the bathrooms, but she wasn't using the bathroom every 30 minutes so her trips were limited. This is a lady who needs help getting out of chairs in normal life and we wanted her there, but we wanted our LC wedding more so we just did it. She had help available if she needed it from our guests and the LC staff, who were awesome and brought a comfortable chair to the beach for her and everything. It isn't an issue. But then I don't want to walk down the ailse carrying it, nor do I want my MOH to do that I could go without but would rather be able to touch up my makeup if need be. I did have a purse but just a regular one, nothing I bought special for the occasion. I didn't even think about what I would do with it, I just brought it because I always carry a purse. Nicole will tell you to have everything packed and ready to go before you go down for the wedding and that the staff will bring it down at some point so it can be put on the return boat. Just before the ceremony a BM asked me for my perfume and lipgloss and she kept it on her, and was great about coming to me like every 1/2 hour to see if I needed a refresher of either. I wouldn't have thought to ask anyone but she was a lifesaver because she kept me smelling good and my lips moist without me having to look for anything all night.

  11. Sorry My BMs/mom threw a shower and we had a girl slumber party. I planned the bach. party in Mexico. It was a joint event for DH and I, and actually I didn't plan anything except to say meet at x spot on x night. Everyone paid for their own stuff (well we didn't pay for most drinks) but it was very low key and super fun. I'm so not the "girls gone wild/last fling" type so I did what I was comfortable with. Good luck, I hope things turn out how you want them to )
  12. Sarah that is too funny! Sorry you had to wake up not surrounded by celebrities...lol
  13. I'm not sure what the popular answer will be, but I say if you aren't in communication with M that she doesn't need an invite. A wedding isn't the best place for a reunion since you'll have so many other people to divide your attention. Plus, for us, our guests were people who have supported our love/watched us grow so we wanted them there to witness our marriage. If it makes waves maybe it will get her to call you and rekindle a friendship lost, if she is angry then who needs her anyway. I say no.
  14. Nice! (I think Alyssa is doing this right now too...a battle of the threads...lol) That's a great dip recipe, thanks. I'll eat anything in a tortilla too. We always have tortillas around - yum!

Very good & filling. maybe we can start a thread for healthy recipes. Yum! Good idea. When I lived in the dorms I lived off of beans, rice, and tortillas....I kind of still do Please start the meat-free/healthy thread, I need to get back to my old, healthier eating habits

  19. How cool! Love the orange/green palm tree one you posted. But boo for me, no wedding or baby that needs a monogram. Perhaps a Mr. & Mrs. return address monogram? I could make it into a stamp...hmmmm....
  20. Yes, our resident vegetarians would be happy to give you some pointers, I'm sure )
  21. Also with fish they asphyxiate (sp?) so we can eat them, and some people eat them/gut them while still alive, so that's mean. I love fish btw, but when you think about your food it is not pretty. I go through phases where I don't eat any flesh and then there are times where I want a rare steak like nobody's business. Sometimes I'll even be eating meat and part way through my brain will say "that's flesh" and I can't eat anymore. DH laughs at me because the next week I'll make a meatloaf or something...haha I can't give up meat completely just yet, but I think chicken is worse than beef/fish so I eat more of that when I'm eating "flesh".
