I use the MAC concealor as well, and the BeneFit stuff totally kicked its ass at hiding my circles. I loved it. And I complain about my dark circles all the time as well. Mind you, I used the BeneFit undereye cream stuff, then the concealor (both come in that kit), then MAC Studio fix, then MAC concealor. So, I had a lot of stuff on there, but it was not cakey or heavy at all either. I thought I did a good job, and trust me, I never ever say that. lol

Betsy. You are going to love it here. There are some amazing brides and grooms who have great advice and are just great people. Happy Planning.

I should post a pic of them because it was so obvious they were fake. I was like Dang, if I can pull these ones off then they won't notice on the softer, more life like ones. However I do like the idea of getting some that would last the whole vacation- not just a day. Does it do any harm to your natural lashes? LIke when they come off, do you lose some of your natural ones? I'd hate to be bald after that. lol No, they do not harm your real lashes, that was my first question. You can go and get them removed when you are done with them and they use some glue remover that does not harm your lashes and if they fall out on their own they also do not harm your lashes, the glue just comes loose. I can tell you for sure after, but I know in the spots where I did lose them already, my lashes look fine.

So the cost might be a lot at first, but its pretty cheap to maintain them. 1 thing I wanted to tell you all is the first few days were odd, sleeping on them and putting on sunglasses and stuff like that, but then you get used to them. They are also kinda stiff when you first get them, but after a few days they soften and look more natural.

No, the glue they used did not come off, I still have them on and I got them done exactly 3 weeks ago today. I swam a lot, showered a lot and put lotion on my face a lot. I also put on and took off a lot of make up and used eyecream everyday. So, they stay put. $25 does sound kinda cheap, but maybe they just want to make the price cheap so that people will try it out, its kind of a crazy thing and if you don't hear about it from someone else, you might never try it. So, they want people to try it and love it and spread the word, then raise the price. This is just my guess though. lol Maybe go in for a conslutation first and see what the place looks like and if you can get some before and after pics from them. I can't wait to get it done. Yay for Julie starting a new beauty trend! I really did not start the trend, I read about it in a magazine, lol. I am the first BDW bride to do it I think, but that is all. I really think everyone should do it though, I like them that much.

Its make up made for photography, so that is its intended purpose, to hold up. I used the Studio fix instead of a liquid foundation and I thought it was perfect. Not cakey or heavy feeling at all. I used a lot of concealor as well, the benefit stuff, and then the MAC stuff over the studio fix. I wanted to be sure to hide the dark circles.

I just wanted to tell all those brides who have not decided on make up yet what saved my day. Me and all my BM's went to the MAC store and had make-up applications done before we left for the wedding. They made us all look awesome and gave us a card with all the products we used and where to put them. This really helped the girls who do not usually wear make-up and they all looked awesome. I also bought a kit from BeneFit called Realness of Concealness realness of concealness : Benefit Cosmetics I highly reccomend it. It really does help out a lot. The concealor worked wonders and I got many many compliments on my make-up. It also comes with instructions on what to put where. The thing that saved my day the most was the MAC Fixer. You spray it on after you put on your make-up and it keeps it in place and gives you a nice dewy glow. Well, let me tell you that my make up stayed on all day and night (and I was sweating my butt off). In fact, this is gross, but I was too tired to take my make up off before going to sleep and when I woke up my make up looked like I just put it on. It was amazing. So I highly highly recommed if you only have one splurge, you get the Fixer. Then the BeneFit kit. Totally made my wedding make-up easy to do and stay on forever.

Sabrina, if you have any questions or need any help with resources in our area, please drop me a line, PM me, whatever, I would be more than happy to help. -
I will share a close up for sure, as soon as I get one. I really do think they are worth the money though ladies, I am sooo happy with them. My sister got them as well and she also loves them. I still get compliments on them, even with a few missing. I love not having to put on mascara or curl my lashes. As for curling them, you are not supposed to because it wears them down and they can break. My lashes are pretty straigth as well, but they glue them at the base, so you can not see your old lashes and they take on the shape of these lashes, so having straight lashes will not be an issue. Talk to a pro though, but this is what the girl told me when I got mine done. I think if you shop around you will find a place that does them cheaper. And, if not, they are still totally worth it. I had to budget for them because we had NO extra money before I left, so I put them in my original budget. lol DH laughed at me, but I said it was important and he said it was fine. I am really glad I did it. And I am sure when I can show you pics you will know why. My lashes are not long at all, so these were perfect. I was afraid to glue fakes ones on myself because I was worried to mess them up and they never look good when I do it, I have to get a pro to do it for me. I also think that glue breaks down pretty fast and they would totally come off if you are swimming or even showering. JMO though.

Thank you Natalie, I can't wait to see the pro pics either, its killing me. lol I might have a few more to post later tonight as well. -
I did go in the pool and ocean and all that good stuff before the wedding, I did it all. lol I tried to stay out of the sun so I would not have crazy tan lines or burn, but I did all the water stuff. Also, when I say a few fell out, you can not tell at all. If they did not fall onto my face where I saw them I would never have known. So, I would not worry about that, at all.
-
Welcome back Natalie. I am glad to hear that you are feeling better and that everything is good with you and the baby. Hopefully it will be smooth sailing for both of you from now on. That is so exciting that you find out next Tuesday, I can't wait to hear about it.

It was $60 and totally worth the money. Its a lot of work for them to do it, so I am kinda surprised it cost so little. Worth it for sure.

I got eye lash extensions before I left for my wedding. It was very very odd, they have to tape down your bottom lashes and then you lay down with your eyes closed and they glue lashes onto your lashes. Then you wait while the glue dries and then when you open your eyes they are a little stuck and they have to cut the glue that is stuck. It was so strange and it took 45 minutes. When they were done, before I looked at them I hated it and wondered why I did it, it was a pain in the ass. BUT, when I looked at them in the mirror I LOVED them. I still love them. My make up on my wedding day looked a thousand times better because of my lashes. Also, all week long I did not put on any make up at all and I looked pretty good. People kept asking me what kind of mascara I used because my lashes looked so great. No one could tell they were fake until I told them. They are supposed to last 4 to 6 weeks and then after that a few will fall out and you will need touch ups. I had a few fall out sooner than that, after the wedding day of course, but I was in the pool and ocean all day and sweating and showering a lot and putting lots of sunscreen and lotion on my face. So, these are extreme circumstances and I do not doubt that without all of that they would last 4 to 6 weeks for sure. I still have them in, only a few fell out and they still look good. None have fallen out since I got home. I wish I had before and after pics for you, but I don't. When I get the close up shots from the photographer though, I can show you how they look. You do not need to put mascara on at all. I love that part. I would recommend them, as long as you can get through the 45 uncomfortable minutes, then they are totally worth it. I would do it again for sure.

Can you tell me the name of the agency. PM me if you do not want to post it. I will look into them for you to make sure they are legit. It does seem pretty steep to me. I paid no deposit or retainer to my TA. I can give you her info if you want, she is also based in Toronto. We had some guests from Montreal as well. They specialize in DW's.

Tiffany's has an awesome starfish necklace though that is just plain silver. Did you see it. That is the one I would pick if I had a choice. Just a thought.
