  2. I had my wedding on a Wednesday. That is actually the day I wanted it to be. I think the Tuesday would work out well, your mom is right, it is a DW, you don't need to do it on the weekend. But, if the day is more important than the location, then I say you should check out some other places and then decide.
  3. Wow, that is a drastic change. Congratulations. That is awesome. You look great in your dress.

Yeah... that's enough! Ummmm no, you should not get them gifts as well. lol You have spent more than enough. that is soo generous of you. Wow, I can't believe you are paying for travel and dresses, I would love to have been able to do that.

Hope you love it! Jen, I am your secret santa. lol I sent that gift back when we were supposed to be guessing, and then everyone decided to tell, but I already sent it. I am glad you like it. Can you post a pic? They did not have the Aqua online so I did not even get to see what it looked like
  7. I also did not want a shower. BUT, even though I said I did not want one, my MOH and BM's decided I needed on anyway. It was actually kinda fun. It was hard at first because I do not like to be the centre of attention or having people stare at me, but it was pretty fun. I hope they listen and you get exactly what you are looking for.
  8. That really sucks Carly. I must have had totally different ones because I was pretty rough on mine and they lasted a long time. Mine were called eye lash extensions, I wonder if that is different then what you got? Sorry you have such a bad experience I am glad you did them now though and not for your wedding.
  9. There was a seller on ebay that had table runners and chair ties for around $1.50 each. Do a search for table runners. They had every colour under the sun. I debated getting them for my wedding and decided to just leave it out as we were spending too much money.

But, to be honest, I'd rather bow out because I've always felt that the nominations should reflect what the person has contributed to the forum during that particular month (giving advice, organizing something on behalf of the brides, sharing information about wedding sources, or planning documents, etc...) and I really haven't done that in the last couples months because I've had so much other stuff going on. But I'm flattered and wish everyone the best of luck. Maria, yet another reason why you SHOULD be MoTM. You are always thinking about other people and your kindness is so obvious. I don't think we should allow Maria to back out. lol
  12. I really think that the party is what you and your guests make it. If you have a fun crowd you will have a party no matter what. At my wedding the bar stopped at 11. So, because we have a big fun party crowd, we paid the guys that worked there to go and get us lots and lots of alcohol and we kept dancing till the wee hours of the morning. They literally had to take the tables and stuff down while we were dancing and partying. I just said leave the music, take the rest, they even took the dance floor from under us, and that still did not stop us. SOOOO, what I am trying to say it you make the party, not the place you are partying in.
  13. There is a link to a PDF document though, I need that link. lol If you happen to remember I would really appreciate it. If not, no worries I can search for it on my own. Thanks for posting these, I love them and I am sure she will too.
  14. Happy birthday to an amazing person. I hope you have the best birthday ever. 25 is a big one. Even though you told me I am old, I still have you have an amazing year and that all your birthday wishes come true.
  15. Awww, I am totally feeling the love right now. Thank you guys so much, you are all too sweet. I am still having a hard time with this. I think I will also vote Lala (Kate) and PaulaV. I can't tell you the why aside from the fact that they are both awesome. There are so many amazing BTB's to choose from though, so this was way to hard for me. Bride, also really hard, I was going to nominate Mel (Raeka) and Andrea (DreaW) because they are both great but, since they have been nominated, I can nominate the other bride I think deserves it and that is Jill (Jilly76) she was there for me through all my freakouts when the clock was counting down really fast, she really helped to calm me down and let me know that it was okay to freak out and I was not crazy (well for that reason).

Talk to your FH about it, but I think it would be a great solution.
  17. I want to reiterate what Courtney said, with sand in the frame its going to be sooooo heavy. So be careful about that. Also, we brought our vase home with the sand in it and let me tell you it does not look as pretty anymore as it did after the ceremony, so please keep that in mind it will shake up a lot and our just all mixed together. We still love it, but I just want you to know that it will not stay that way in the frame and to keep that in mind.

Not your normal groomsmen, but hey, he's closer with him than anyone else and it could be a nice touch. It would have been a LOT easier if it was my bm, as I have another friend that is coming who i feel i probably should have asked but didnt because I wanted to keep things small. So get him to ask his dad. I think his dad would be so happy. Who cares about typical, but I have been to 3 weddings where the grooms dad was the best man or a GM. I think it would be so sweet.
  19. I had real problems with a BM bailing on me last minute. I asked another friend who was coming along (who is also a very good friend) if she wanted to step in for her and she was very excited and happy to do so. Is there someone coming along who could step in and be a GM? You have a bit of time, I am sure someone would love to do it. As for a witness, you must have someone else coming who is not family. Anyone can do it, it does not have to be someone in the wedding party.
  20. Wow, you look stunning. I am so happy that you love them. How can you not, they look amazing. Your FH is going to love them.
  21. Shelley, can you post the link of where you found this. My friend is getting married in her back yard next August and I need to make these for her. So, I need that link. Thank you for posting, I love these.
  22. Sorry, I was a little confused, I put how much I spent PER BM. I spent around $70 per BM and about $120 on my MOH. So I hope that helps clarify it.

Julie(Julser): I just love her to pieces. She has a giant heart and gave alot of helpful information for current brides to be. She also helped me find the perfect pair of earings on ebay for my special day. You are too sweet. I got a little teary reading this. Is that pathetic? lol This is tough, I need some time to think of my nominations. I just had to reply to Mel's nominations. Too many amazing ladies and a few men on this forum.
  24. Awwwwwww, that is too cute. I can't believe how well you can see the baby already. You must be so happy.
