  1. I love all of your stuff it looks so great together. If you wanted to get something else you could get them a cool beach bag to give them everything in, that is what I did for my girls and they still use the bag now, it was a canvas bag, they love them. Tami do you have Party Packagers where you live? I got mine iron on's there and they are also the wedding star ones. They were cheaper there than on the wedding star website and no shipping. I also got the flower girl ones. My BM's loved them.
  2. I got amazing shoes for my wedding that I loved and were soo comfy and they are dyable, so you can make them any colour you want. I got them from Nathan Shoes Coloriffics Cilena they have great prices and they deliver everywhere pretty much. Here is a picture of my shoes, just so you can see the style I got, but there are lots of styles. Coloriffics are the brand and they have tons of dyeable shoes. (You can't tell from this picture, but they are wedge)
  3. Wow, that is a lot of people, its crazy when you think about it. Tammy you did this all on your own and we are all so greatful that you took the time and continue to take the time to do this. I would not have got through planning my wedding if it was not for everyone on this forum. I am so greatful, you have no idea. I am so happy that I can still be here and talk to all of you even though my wedding is over, this really is the best site on the internet, life would not be the same without all of you. Thank you Tammy.
  4. I can't tell you about the dinner package, I was a BM in a wedding there in April 2005 we had dinner in the Mexican restaurant and the bride and groom picked the menu. But, when it comes to the beach or gazebo reception, I have some info. You need to find out if they changed the location of the beach reception. My friend did theirs on the beach and it was a little too public, so kinda strange but still nice. The gazebo is a little more private once you get there, but you actually walk down the asile through the lobby, and the lobby is really busy and you can't fit your guests in the gazebo, its too small, so they actually sit in chairs outside the gazebo. There are probs and cons to both, so it depends on which you would prefer. They are both really nice though, so I don't think you can go wrong with either.
  5. I have not read any of the other posts, but I want you to know that I LOVE them. I think you did an amazing job. Do not listen to your FMIL and DO NOT ask her for any advice on anything else. She does not know much about a DW I am guessing and is thinking you should do something more traditional, DW's are not traditional. I love them and you should totally use them.
  6. They don't get OOT bags. That is their fault they decided to surprise you. Also, do not worry about the cake or champange, there will be enough, there is always left overs. As for food and stuff, can you advise your WC that it is possible that more people might show? I know that would not have matter for us because we did not give our final total count till we got there. So it might not be a big deal for you either. If its men surprising you, are you shocked by this, men just don't think about these things and plans and that kinda thing. On a bright note, I am sure FI would be so happy that his dad is there for his wedding. I am sure you can fit them in. I would not make them OOT bags though, its there fault for booking late, not yours, do not stress about it. It will all work out.

I just left mine outside during the day one day to air them out and they did not smell anymore. So try that.
  8. It is stunning, why do you think people will have bad things to say about it? If you love it and think its the one, then it is and you should get it. Do not listen to what anyone but your heart has to say. You need to love it, no one else does.

    Newbie Alert!

    to the forum. Happy Planning.
  10. My colours were light pink and Chocolate brown. Pink was the main colour and chocolate brown were my accents. They are really great colours to work with. These are my BM dresses.
  11. I have been on WW in the past, and I just wanted to comment on your low low low point eating. You need to get the 18 points in a day, its not a maximum points, its the amount of points you NEED to eat. If you eat too few points your body will go into starvation mode and start hording all calories from everything you eat and store then. That is what your body does when you consume too few calories. Talk to your leader about it, but you really should eat the 18 points in a day 10.5 is not good at all, its waaaaaay to low.
  12. I vote for the 1st one, I love love love the dress and it looks stunning on you. I think its much more flattering than the second dress.
  13. I had my reception on the beach, like Ann it was one of the main reasons I wanted a DW, where else can you have a beautiful dinner on the beach with your family and friends. We had 51 people total and 4 kids, we just asked for high chairs for the kids. Everyone loved it and went on about how amazing the dinner and dancing on the beach was. It was not windy for us at all, so I have no tips there. It was also perfect weather because it was cooler at the beach, so it was great to be down there for the reception. I would suggest NOT getting tikki torches. I wanted them, but it was too windy for them (yet none of us noticed any wind), but it was a blessing in disguise because they had them set up the next night for a dinner and they really really stink. So just an FYI, I would not suggest you use them. They had lots of lights strung up for us and in the trees and we had candles on the tables. It was perfect.
  14. I hope you have an amazing wedding and that all you dreamed your wedding day would be comes true. I can't wait to hear all about it and see the pictures.
  15. to the forum Carrie. Another Canadian girl on the forum, YAY! I was a BM at a wedding at Dreams (when it was Sunscape the Beach) in April 05 so let me know if you have any questions.
  16. Welcome to the forum Tara. I hope you find all the information you may be looking for. You are going to love it here.
  17. I would try it on for sure. If you need the alterations, so be it, get them done. But its better to know and to spend the money to have it perfect then to not know and hate your dress. So, just go try it on already.
  18. I think that is an awful lot more money for not a lot more of anything. Everyone who I talked to who had teh jacuzzi tub on the balcony never ever used them. I really think you are not getting much more for the money. Besides you will not spend that much time in your room and when you do, it will be in bed, so what does it matter what the rest of the room looks like as long as its nice. I personally did not think the up grade was worth it, neither did Curt, so we used the money on other things and saved some.
  19. There are too many great Brides on here, I wish I could vote for all of you. I voted when this was first posted, but it was a hard choice for me and I did the eenie meenie. I wish you could all win.
  20. First Congratulations on picking a location, that must feel pretty great. I have heard great things about Ocean Blue. I belong to a Canadian Wedding Forum and lots of them were married there and loved it. Have you checked Trip Advisor at all? That might help. Please keep in mind though that a lot of people on there write reviews just to complain, but you will find some good information as well. I can't wait to hear which resort you decide on.
  21. I can't believe I am just seeing this now. I have to make them now. I want them. I have all the ingredients but the bisquick though, so I have to wait, but I really want to eat them right this minute.

I was pretty happy with it and really proud of myself. I am sure you can find somewhere to teach you how to do your own make-up in 6 weeks. Its totally worth the money.
  23. to the forum Rebecca. I am sure you will find all the information you are looking for here. Happy Planning.
