I got married in Cuba, Playa Pesquero

I found out about the beach BBQ from Yaly, she sent me all the meal packages and I picked the BBQ. As for the dance floor, they had never done it prior to my wedding, so they built one for me. All you have to do is ask. If you want anything, Yaly will make it happen.

You are going to have an amazing time, and it will be perfect, do not worry about a thing. I can't wait to hear all about it and see the pictures. Wooo hooo, so exciting.

I agree with you completely!! You didn't get a photographer and are coming on her to warn others, you don't need to be told that your photog should have known better and that it made someone smile to read this. That is just plain mean. Thank you for warning future brides of this issue. When we got married we had no problems at all bringing in our photog, thank God. I really hope this isn't something that catches on and other resorts follow suit. Did you at least get to take pics before or anything at all? I am hoping you did. Could you use the resort photog?

Not dumb, I asked it. You sign with your maiden name, because that is your legal name at the time of signing.

You can ask Yaly about it, but it will count as people's usage of one of their restaurant meals if you do it there. I think they can set up a special area for you at the buffet though, like block it off. Maybe ask about that option instead.

My visa does not match my drivers's license, I haven't changed that yet because its such a PITA. I get cheques in my mainden name still and they still cash them. I have not written cheques in my maiden name though, why would you? I have honestly had zero problems so far and I got married in 07. So I would not stress about it, at all. My passport is also still in my maiden name.

We only paid in pesos, we were told not to bring US when I got married, so they haven't accepted it for a long time. There is an exchange place at the resort, or you can get some in advance through the bank like we did, but it takes the bank a little time to order it, so go a few weeks before you leave at the the latest. Don't tip in US, the maids and staff can't exchange it, so its no good to them. Its best to tip in Pesos because they don't have to try to get it exchanged. The staff also can't exchange CDN change, only bills, so keep that in mind as well.

Thank you, we are excited We filled out the forms and emailed them to Yaly with no signatures and signed them when we got there. Make sure that is still an option, but one of our witnesses live in Dubai, so we were not seeing him till we got there.

Just so you know, you don't need to change your passport untill it expires, its still legal to use it in your maiden name, just book your tickets that way. I didn't see the point in paying $85 to renew it when it was good for another 4 years So I will get a new one next year when it expires

That is really strange, I asked Yaly ahead of time and she said yes we would have someone. I know we didn't pay more for it, the only thing for the dinner we paid more for was to have them put down the dance floor.

We had a beach dinner and the Dj/MC was included in that. We burned everything on to CD's because I was worried that they would not have the right cables for my Ipod, then we would have no back up and I was not chancing that.

I made an OOT bag for Yaly, with just the pashmina, flip flops and soaps and body spray, etc. and we gave her cash. I brought a curling Iron and lots of hair pins and nail polishes and make-up, etc. for the hair dresser. They both loved them. The hairdresser actually cried while hugging me, it was too sweet.

It was not open when we were there, I would have loved to try it out.

Really I am kinda suprised that your own son could embarass you. He is 3, its understandable if he does silly things. My niece was 2 at my wedding, and she was our flower girl, she came up to me during the ceremony and asked me if I had a snack. I laughed and said no. We got a picture of it because its one of my fave moments from the wedding. If you have kids in your wedding, you expect these things can and will happen. If you are embarassed by your son being himself and acting his age, then maybe you should have someone watch him in the room till the ceremony is over. But really, I don't think its necessary, he is your son, so its his day too and he is 3, kids will be kids.

You arn't from Toronto are you? If so, you didn't get it from Sposabella did you? I ask because they are terrible there and do this all the time. And, I would not get it altered there if I was you, they are terrible. I must say though, as long as they can alter it down to fit you and it still looks good, its not a big deal really, if they had ordered the 8 and it was too small, that would be a huge deal. My dress was altered down 2 sizes and it still looked exactly the same. I really think its going to be fine and its still going to look perfect on you. You should try to get some compensation though, because they messed up, they owe you. Fingers crossed that it works out for you.
