  1. I am making a cake for a shower. The baby is already here and her name is Sofia. I have only done cakes in the past when the baby is not here yet, so I am stumped as to what to put on the cake. It will have little hand prints all over it and the idea's I have so far are: Little fingers, little toes everyday our love for you grows Little hands and little feet Baby Soifa is oh so sweet But I would love to have some more. Any one have any? They can be funny or cute. Any help is appreciated. I checked the usual sites already, like babyshowercentral, etc..
  2. I wish I remember when I started to feel movement, this is why I think everyone should write this stuff down, I did not start writing it down till 26 weeks. Anyway, for me it felt like gas or flutters, but they were also very fast and did not happen that much. Then it started to feel a lot like popping, I have read that they liken it to popcorn popping, and that was pretty crazy and it happened more frequently than the flutters. That happened for a while before it turned into actual kicks. I would not worry that you can't feel it yet, you are still early on and it is different for everyone. Also, it all depends on the position the baby is in, if they are far away from your "walls" then you will not feel them moving around.
  3. I have been through this twice. They know how to size them at bridal salons, so go there and get their advice first, even if you do not order through them. My one friend got 3 sizes bigger depending on how far along she would be and the other got 2 sizes bigger. Both of the dresses for those weddings were more flowy at the bottom so it worked out perfectly. My one friend had it altered just before we left for the DW, I think a week before, and it looked great.
  4. I agree, go with the sash, I think it looks much nicer and more flatering with it.
  5. I am torn between C, D and E, but I picked C. I think all of them are beautiful though and you can't go wrong with any of them.
  6. Ann I am so happy for all three of you that you got to spend the night together with no doctors or nurses around. I hope it was perfect and everything you dreamed it would be. I can't wait till you get her home and she gets to meet everyone and see where she lives. YAY!!!!!! I am just so happy she is with you and on her way home.
  7. Ann I am so happy you are taking her home today. Please keep us posted on how everything goes. I can't wait till you are all home safe and sound and Gwen finally gets to see where she lives. She is going to love it.
  8. That is such great news that she passed her test. I am so happy for all 3 of you. Now you just need to be told you can bring her home. My fingers are crossed and I will be keeping all of you in my thoughts.
  9. That is great news, but we totally need to know more. What do you get for it? I am hoping its something great. If people from my wedding see it, they are going to know that I did not come up with all those great things on my own. lol Damn. Now they will know I had help and I am not so original. lol Just kidding I told everyone that most of my idea's came from you amazing ladies.
  10. Jen it looks like you guys were having soo much fun out there. It really tells a story of who you both are and that you have a lot of fun with each other.
  11. Congratulations, we needed another boy because we have mostly girls coming up, that should even it out I love the name Noah, its so cute but yet great for a man as well.
  12. Tammy, pregnant women can paint, it just has to be in a well ventilated area and should be lead free paint, which a lot of paint is now a-days. I just hate painting and that is why my mom is doing it for me. lol Lisa I am really far along to have nothing done, I should be done something already, but I just have so much to do and am working full time still and making cakes on the side and busy every weekend, so I never have the time. That is why I hope nesting sets in so that I would be cleaning right now instead of on here. Not that I don't love being on here, but I have soooo much to do.
  13. I love the colour and look of number 2 the best. I think you should go for it. It will look great with your hair colour.

We will prolly move everything back in there until we decide was else to do. Thanks girls!!! We had fun doing it :] I am actually really lucky and my mom is the painter. She kinda likes to do it, just because she is so good at it and loves when its done. So she will probably do it this coming week, as long as I get all the stuff out. We had the room packed, as packed as a room can be. It was the room we just threw everything in, you know like a junk drawer or something, we had a junk room. lol So I still have a desk and lots of just stuff in it. We will get it moved out soon, I just need the motivation and the time. I keep hoping that the nesting stage will kick in soon and I will want to do it. lol
  15. I love that room, I love the window, its a really nice room for a baby and I love the colour. You are much farther along then we are, we got a lot of the stuff out of the room, but its still packed and we have not painted yet. lol I hope we get it done before she gets here.
  16. Ann those pics of her in the bath are sooo cute. And Paul doing her hair, wow I love it, that is just too sweet for words. I am so glad she is doing so well and I can't wait till they tell you you can take her home. As for Jackson, OMG is he ever cute!!! Tammy you should put him in commercials or ads or something, he is just so beautiful.
  17. Did she pass her car seat test today? I really hope she did and my fingers are crossed. I can't wait till you get to bring her home, I am so excited for all three of you. Let us know about today's test.

  19. Check out party packagers for your decorations, you should have one near you, they will have exactly what you are looking for. As for games, give me some time with this. I had a list on my old computer from buck and does we have done in the past, so I will look for it for you and get back to you. Make sure you have jello shooters, sell them for $1 people always buy tons of those, you can't have too many. Get tropical flavours like pinapple and mango and stuff, that way it will go with your theme. There is that game where you tape a deck of cards on a bristol board face down and ask people to write their names on the card and whoever finds the Jack of Spades wins half the money. I think its usually $2 a card, people will play for a toonie and then its free money, you just pay for the deck of cards and the bristol board. Keep it at the door or where people are buying drink tickets, because then they already have their money out and will just do it. Also, have a big jug with a narrow top, put a shot glass inside and leave it at the bar. people drop in a loonie and if it lands in the shot glass they get a free shot, if not, then they get nothing. That one usually brings in lots of money as well. There is also the game where you put a bottle (a Mickey) of liquor on the floor and tape a line a few feet away, and people do a loonie toss or slide towards the bottle and it goes for a while and the person who gets their loonie the closest wins the bottle. You can leave that one going for a while because people keep trying to get it closer to the bottle all night. Did you say you have any poker tables? Because that is huge right now. Make people pay a fee to play, say $10 and then give them some chips and the winner takes home half of the table's pot. Like if 5 people play the winner gets $25 and so do you. Its not a lot of money but people love poker, so they will play just to play and win. If I think of anything else I will let you know. These were just off the top of my head. lol
  20. I can't wait to hear if you get picked and what they do for you and what its all about and if you get anything special because you are on the show. I bet you do, I bet the resort would give you tons of upgrades because they will be on tv. They will make sure your wedding is perfect for sure. Keep us posted.
  21. Congratulations ladies, you are both going to be amazing Mods!!!
  22. I say white or keep shopping. I don't like the blue ones, if you love them though, then I think you should go for them. They are just not my style. I like the idea of colourful funky shoes though.
  23. I got one today!!!! Woo hoo. It was the last one and I was so excited about it. The thing I am not excited about it that you can't tell it you are pregnant, so when it came time to tell me my BMI, it told me I am obese. DH thought that was just hillarious. I kinda did, but at the same time I wanted it to know I am pregnant. I guess it will like my progress after I have the baby That is a good thing. So I will set no goals till after the baby comes as I can only gain weight from here, not possible to lose it.

Doc told me I could keep taking Allegra for my allergies but I stopped that too. Taking meds just scares me. My doctor told me only Benadryl for allergies, NOTHING else was her exact words. You guys should call mother risk when you have any questions about stuff like this. Its Canadian, but anyone can call and ask them. Here is the website The Hospital for Sick Children - Motherisk and the contact info is on there. Cetaphil is okay, I called about that myself and so is Phisoderm (but I think that is only Canadian because I could not find it when I was in the states) and Proactive is bad, I read that a few places, but you can call them and ask them. You tell them the ingredients of things and they tell you if you can or can't use it and why. What in it is bad and what it can do. I have the book they put out as well and it was not until I read that book that I found out that Chamomile tea is really bad to drink while pregnant, I was drinking it because it has no caffiene. Turns out it can cause uterine contractions, who knew. So check out the site and call them with any questions, its long distance, but totally worth it.
