  1. I really wish there was more than 1 week left. I have not done as well as I hoped I would. I got so sick and then my bootcamp got canceled for 3 weeks and it just started up again last week and Thursday's class got canceled, so I have not been working out as much as I had planned. Its hard to do it on my own because of Ella, I just have sooo much to do that if I don't leave the house for bootcamp I stay here to get other things done. Oh well, I will sign up for the next one as well and hopefully I can do better at that one.
  2. I think the dress you bought looks great on you, so I voted you keep it. We were all hot in our dresses on our wedding day, but we got the dress we love and it didn't matter that we were sweating. In fact I didn't even notice it after a little while, I was too excited and happy. I wore it all night like, from 4 PM to about 4 AM
  3. Those are stunning!!! I can't wait to see the rest of them.
  4. There is an exchange place in the lobby. We brought some cash and credit cards and you can also use your ATM card. You can use Visa and MC but they have to be from Canadian banks. Do not use travelers cheques, those are American and not accepted.

JulieG, what is involved with the signing of the papers? I'm thinking that's essentially our marriage license and then the next day is more of a symbolic ceremony? Anyhow, I'm super excited and I have my first dress fitting in 2 weeks so things are great! I think that is exactly what that means. You will sign your license with your witnesses in front of the notary and on the weekend probably Yaly will do the ceremony for you but it will be symbolic. Really it will be your wedding though, because its not like you had another wedding, you just signed papers. Does that make sense?

I know 10:00am might be nice in that it won't be too hot, but then what to do for the rest of the day until the reception? Anyhow, faith is restored...thanks girls! I agree that 10 AM seems like an odd time. I guess people just go on with their day and come back for dinner, but that means you will be in your dress all day. Would your hair and make-up hold for dinner? But you are right, it will be a little cooler. I got married at 4 and I think it was perfect.
  7. She is so beautiful. Congratulations. I am so jealous of how little you pushed, that is awesome!!! I am so happy that you are both doing so well.

  9. In the beginning it took a while, sometimes a week, but once we got to know each other it was a lot faster. If you are not a high maintenance bride and are really nice to her, you seem to get your responses faster. I am the same way though, the more I like you the faster I am at replying.
  10. I love the Disco dress, I think its totally perfect. Your wedding dress is also beautiful
  11. Oh, music. I hired the band for the ceremony and I asked for traditional Cuban music, but they will play anything you ask, and I think it was like $60 or less. For the reception I burned all my own cd's and the DJ played those. We typed out what was on every one of them so people could request songs and had a separate cd for our first dance and mom and son dance, etc. I also had separate cd's for dinner music. The DJ was great and did what we asked. I gave him all the cd's at the end because their music selection is pretty slim. So I say bring whatever you want them to play.
  12. I asked about a Huppa and they don't have one. They only have the arch. The resort provides the brides bouquet and the grooms bout as part of the wedding package. I think I paid $8 for each BM bouquet and around $1 for the bouts. I brought pictures of what I wanted and they did there best to make them for me. They were very nice and I was really happy with them. I think I answered all the questions, let me know if you have anymore.

Cheers Rebecca I did not pick specific rooms. We wanted everyone to be spread out so they had more privacy and could do what they wanted and did not have to worry about say my mom being in the next room or something
  15. Welcome!!! We wanted to get married in Panama, but we had issues with the fact that the flights were only on Monday's, it would not work for our group and I was pretty sad about that. So, I can't wait to hear all about your wedding and see the pictures. Happy Planning.
  16. I am so sorry to hear about your father. Do know that we all had problems with someone we love not being able to make it to the wedding for one reason or another. Your wedding will be perfect, your mother who was your true parent all your life will be there and can walk you down the aisle (my mom walked me) and you will not even notice he is not there, you will just be so happy to celebrate with the ones who are. He is missing out big time and he will regret it one day. Do what makes you happy and do not listen to or worry about the people who are selfish and thinking about themselves instead of you on your wedding day.
  17. Good luck today. My fingers are crossed that everything is quick and easy for you. Can't wait to hear all about it.
  18. You don't want to start things off without being totally honest. So I say figure out what it is you really want and then tell him. They do have payment plans for rings, so you don't have to pay it all up front. Be honest with yourself and your future husband. You don't want to resent it later and get upset that you never got what you wanted.

  20. Yaly is amazing, I can't say enough about her, she is great at her job. The beach BBQ was awesome, the best food we had all week. And the set up on the beach is beautiful, I totally say go for the beach BBQ, the other set ups didn't seem as nice.
  21. Congratulations, that is amazing news. We didn't have a weddingmoon baby, but we got pregnant the month after and it was perfect timing for us. I am so happy for you both.

Also, since you got married there, did you have to plan quite a bit in advance to get the date you wanted for the wedding as well as time of day? How did you find planning the reception? We booked our trip from Apr 13-20, but some guests are flying in from other locations and their only choice was Apr 15-22, so we are trying to ensure all of our guests are there for the wedding. Thanks for your help I do have Yaly's email address, I loved her so much and she was so amazing that we still keep in contact. [email protected] is her email address. I can't remember how far in advance I booked my date, but as soon as I knew the exact week we would be there and were booked I booked my date and time with her. I wanted it to be in the afternoon at 4 and on the Wednesday, it was important to me, so I booked it right away and I got it. I booked the beach BBQ with her and told her I wanted my wedding on the beach and asked for the DJ and the dance floor well in advance. Other than that, I did everything else when I got there. She is amazing and you have nothing to worry about, I promise you. She is way more on the ball than I thought she would be and everything was PERFECT!!! The hairdresser is great and my hair was totally amazing. Do a search on here under my name to find my pics. Rest assured your wedding will be perfect.
  23. If I was allowed to vote I would vote Obama for sure! But since I am not allowed, I didn't vote here so that I don't skew your results
  24. Well tomorrow I think I will have a gain not a loss. I have been sick for the past few days and when I am sick all I want to do is eat, I have to eat like every hour, its crazy. I guess since I can't sleep because I have a 3 month old my body needs to get its energy somewhere, so its food. And I crave carbs, I can't want fruit or salad, its bread and pasta, its bad. Anyway, just wanted to let you all know that tomorrow will be bad for me. And, I think I am too sick to go to bootcamp tonight, the first class, so that is a really bad thing. I hope I am better by Thursday's class.
  25. Nope, nothing needs to be translated, its super easy!
