So, I do not think there are any other Cuba brides out there, but if there are, please drop me a line and we can chat. I have not picked a resort yet, but I am pretty sure its going to be in Holguin. I am thinking Playa Pesquaro. Any help in making up my mind would be great.

Girls? Why no posts yet today? I went to the gym and did a 60 Min pump class. I must tell you though, the instructor was a total jerk, was mean about working us out and did not do any of the exercises himself. I am so glad he was a fill in for our regular girl, I would not take the class if he taught it. What about you guys?

Hi Anny, this is actually really expensive. It has to be hand made, using petals from a bunch of other roses. Its really popular right now, but you will pay a lot for it. $200 sounds about right. Do you have to have roses, it might be cheaper if you use a less expensive flower.

You tend to pay less attention when you are tired and that can result in injury and/or not working out to your potential. So, if you are really tired, just stick to the cardio for today and do the muscles tomorrow.

You must be so excited, I know I would be, that is not far away at all. -
I could not go to the gym today, I had a lunch meeting and then I have so much to do tonight and go grocery shopping (does that count?) So, I will work out extra hard tomorrow, for sure.

I am very short though, so I am thinking on the beach with a wedge shoe

Sarah, thats a good idea about doing the weights when you're watching tv. I don't usually just watch tv, I'm usually doing something else at the same time, magazine, folding laundry etc.., but now I'm going to try this. This was also the first week I really, really stuck to WW. I didn't drink at all, even when we watched the Pats on sunday and had all kinds of yummy food, I ate the veggies and had a TON of water. But it was worth it when I got on the scale yesterday and lost....7.6 pounds! Probably a lot of water weight because it was my first real week, but nevertheless I lost something, so that helps keep me motivated. The exercise really does help! That is amazing Jilly, good for you. I did not get to the gym today, I was way to busy, but I did literally run around the office all do, so I would say I got in at least 30 mins of cardio in in 2 minute bursts

I need advice on whom to invite

Then I'll hear it from you guys and poof I feel all better. I feel like we all understand each other b/c we are in the same boat. I am going to go ahead and invite everyone and if they don't want to come then so be it. On another note Jules I am so sorry about your FI's best friend. That really sucks! Is there anyway that you guys can pay for his trip so that they can use their money for her trip? I know it sucks and is totally unfair but I would be willing to make the sacrifice to make my FI happy. I really think that there is no other way around it if you want him there b/c she will probably give him hell if he went w/o her! I hope this all works out. Can't they just use their tax return money? It's not like your wedding is tomorrow or anything, they still have time to save for heaven's sake!! -Glenda I suggested to my FI that we pitch in and help him out. He said no, he does not want to do that. He does not want to do it because where do we draw the line, my sister has a lot less money than his friend, so does one of my BM's who said she is coming no matter what. Why, when we gave them 11 months notice, so we offer to pay for him. He said that, not me. I think he might just be a little angry. But, truth is, we are going to be moving to a new city in March, buying our first house and I don't even have a job yet in this new city. Then, we are getting married in November. We are not really in a place to offer to pay for other people at this point. Its very stressful. -
Alright, I had a busy weekend, no time to work out or eat well for that matter, but I am back at it, yet again. So, today I did 40 minutes of cardio and 20 minutes of weights. I just wanted to get this thread out there, so we don't forget to keep working out.

I need advice on whom to invite
JulieG replied to Nrvsbride's topic in Wedding Etiquette, Traditions, to dos
I am sending STD's to everyone, everyone. If I were having a wedding here and I would invite them to that, I am sending them STD's. If they can't come, they will tell me they can't come and that is fine. That is how I look at it. Those who want to be there, will be there. On the same note, my FI and I had a talk on Saturday night, one of his best friends, who he was going to ask to be one of his GM's, girlfriend told my FI that they can't come to the wedding due to the cost. He was so upset and I am so mad at this. Why does she have to make that decision. If she were a good person who cared about her BF, she would tell him that he should go without her b/c they can't both afford to go. Am I wrong on this one? He is so upset b/c this friend can not come. Here I am, with a friend who is a full time student and her husband who still does not have a work visa in our country and she is coming no matter what and my sister who's husband just passed away will have a 2 year old and a new baby and be on mat leave (making next to no money) is coming. And this guy who has a great job, can't come b/c they can't both afford to go. I don't know what to tell my FI to ease his mind. I feel so bad for him. -

Well, we were wearing our winter jackets at night, it was the coldest it ever got there in 75 years. So, anything can literally happen. I just think a back up plan is very important, I would hate to see the day ruined, so to speak, just because no one asked about where they would go if it rained. I guess I am just a little anal about these things and would need to have a back up plan.

I went to Canada's Wedding Expo yesterday, and I got a flyer for a great idea for an OOT bag item. Its a calling card, with your picture on it, and whatever you want it to say. The example I have says "Thank you for joining us as we begin our life together" and the couple's names and a picture. I have not looked on the website, so you would need to do that to see if the country you want to call from is available, but I think its a good idea. The site is Business cards. Print online business cards, letterheads, flyers, posters, photos, greeting cards. It says on the back here to go to the promotion section and enter the code 8017502149 and you will get 50% off. I have a few cards here and all the promotion codes are the same number. So, I don't think it can only be used by 1 person. Let me know if you decide to go this route how it works out. I have not even got a location yet, so I am not thinking about doing this right now, but I thought it might help someone out there.
-
You should ask, just in case. There has to be somewhere to put you, I would figure that out, just in case. I am not wishing anything bad on you, but I took a weddingplanner course, and the one of the first things we were taught about outdoor weddings is to ALWAYS have a back up plan.

Yes, they put the dance floor right on the sand for you. I looked into that, so I know that much for sure.

If I get quoted around that amount, I will do it as well. Did they give you a back up plan, for rain or wind or something?

TammyM I think I have it. This is my last try though, if this does not work, I give up. lol I think that worked. Keep in mind my ring is much much nicer in real life, its very sparkly and brilliant and clear and colourless, lol, in this pic it looks all spotty or something. But, now you have an idea.

Alright Tammy, I took a pic of my ring that was okay, not good, but okay, but I can't attach it here. Its telling me its too big. I made it as small as possible and I still can't send it. I will keep trying.
