Bridesmaid Picking Advice
JulieG replied to MagsieMexico's topic in Wedding Etiquette, Traditions, to dos
If you are close to his sister, then put her in as well. If not, you can just have your sister. I think all of them would be too much. You have to sit down and think about who would be the best people to have. I have some friends who are good friends but are really flaky and I don't think will do the things they need to. I also have friends who are a little self centered and I don't think they would want/do, what is best for me. So, you have to think about that. Or, just use your sis or both if you are close to his sister. -
As you can see by all the people in swim suits in the back ground, one of the first things I was gonna tell you is to think about the gazebo, or a more private area of the beach. lol

Okay, it took me a while to figure out. Sorry, but this is all of them I could not narrow it down, it would take too long. Yahoo! Photos - julesr_25's Photos - Dawn N Phil's Wedding

Hey, just saw this post now. I also stayed at Sunscape the Beach, and I went for a wedding. I was a BM in that wedding, so I know all the things that happened and have some tips for you. So, let me know what you want to know and if you want pics, I have lots of the wedding. Julie

I wondered what you were going to do about him living in Calgary, I did not want to ask though, thought it might be to personal. That is so sad, we have only just met Alright, I live downtown, but I work across from the Eaton Centre, so, we can totally make it work. PM me and we will go from there.

I think my problem with the whole wedding planning/wedding band decisions is that I over think EVERYTHING and I end up driving myself crazy.. lol If you have it custom made and you don't like it, they can fix it. You are not stuck with what you pick out, they fix it till you like it. Nothing is set in stone. It takes time for them to change it, so it will take a while, but it will be changed. I say look around, ask them what they can do to set something up that you can change around and go that route. If you get something that fits perfectly, it will not flip around, just move a little. -

I, on the other hand, am not a fan of eternity bands. If you are not a woman of leisure, its hard to keep it nice. You will bang it on things and it will get scratched and not look so pretty in a few years. That is my thing, that is why I would not get one. All my rings look kinda banged up on the back. Not my E-ring, but it will happen. I think a custom one is the best idea. That is what I am going to do Tammy, and I have an emerald cut as well. I will get something with diamonds the same size as my side diamonds and find something nice to go where the stone is, maybe bigger, depends on what looks good. This way, you know you will be happy with it, and, no one else will have one like it. -
I do not know what I would do if it was not for this forum. I would probably have had a nervous breakdown or a panic attack or something. Thanks to the girls here, I am not as sad about the fact that I can't have my wedding where I originally wanted it, and they have all made me feel great about my new location choice. So, we are all lucky to be on this forum and to have each other.

There is also a horse drawn carriage that takes the bride and bm's to the altar, included in the wedding package. Which is free I will have lots of upgrades, but starting free is nice.

I was thinking though, just a thought, did you try with a smaller bow? I think it takes up a lot of space, I could be wrong though, things always look different in pics. They do look great though.

Paradisus Rio De Oro is one I was looking at, but the reviews on Trip Advisor are not as good, and there is more wedding info for PP. So, that is why I am leaning towards PP.

Communism was involved with our break with cuba during the cold war and now we are not allowed to travel there, except the military going to Guantanamo Bay. Okay sorry to rant, but I am a history teacher. Too funny. I am sure their side is different, its just like we are taught that Napoleon was a bad person, but ask anyone from France and they think he was a god. lol So, its all about who teachs you what and what country you live in. I do not doubt what you are saying is true, but I think there is probably more to it. thanks for the history lesson though, I like to learn new things.

I think Cuba will be a great location, definetly post pics! Yeah, we had a lot of problems. The only issue with Panama is the fly out days. You can only go on Monday's. I am not asking my guests to take a week and a day off work, I don't think that would be very nice of me So, that is why we are not going to Panama. Other than that, it looks amazing and I would totally have gone there. I have a location now though, so I feel a lot better. Now, I just need a resort.

I will show pictures of the resort when I find some, they don't really have a website for the resort, at least I have not found one yet. From what I have seen, and the reviews though, it sounds and looks great.

Its super cheezy, but they have a lot of great scenery and history of the whole fidel thing and why the US had to get out. No, I never saw that movie, because it looked so cheesy. lol I don't even really know what happened, that is bad, I know, I should look it up. And, I know you guys only know one side, that is what your government wants, lol, the way of the world. But, it really is a beautiful place and I loved it both times I went there, so, I am sure I will love it again. This place, Holguin, looks a lot nicer. I hope I am right.

But otherwise I am jealous, Edyta's pictures of her trip there looked so fun I bet you will have a blast, and us American girls don't even have that option. I love Cuba, so its a good choice, not my first, but a good one. I am not worried about what would happen with Castro, they need tourists, they are a poor country, so, they would never let anything happen to that industry. Thanks for the words of advice though, I will ask my TA about what would happen should anything go wrong.
