  1. I looked into Cayo Coco and that was my second choice for a Cuba location, but I love Holguin and have heard great things about it. Also, I now know 2 people who stayed at my resort and loved it and said it was beautiful, so I am excited about my choice. BTW, every where I looked said my resort was either 4.5 or 5 stars, someone before said it was 4 or 4.5, I just wanted to correct that. If anyone wants info on my resort, I have lots so far. Those of you who don't know where they want to go, go to trip advisor and type in Cuba weddings, there is lots and lots of information.
  2. Do you have No Frills Grocery Stores in the states or is it a Canadian store? If you have it, I was there last night and they have a dollar section (in every store), they had tons, I mean tons of pillar candles in Ivory and Burgandy in all different sizes. They were all under $2. So, if you have one, you should check it out.

Thanks for your help! Has she thought about Cuba? There are lots of cheap resorts and hotels in Cuba. July is a cheaper season to go as well because its off season. Let me know if you want any help with places in Cuba. I have been to Varaderro 2 times and am getting married in Holguin.

I paid around $275 for my veil which I still thought it was a lot but try just going to a cheaper bridal store and Im sure you will find something you love I wish you had talked to me before you got your veil. There is a store in Toronto's Sussman's, that sells veils for so cheap. My sisters was beautiful and she paid $50 for it there. They have hundreds. Toronto Brides, its on Queen W, it has tons of beautiful head pieces for cheap as well. Ann, that is crazy, never would I spend that much money. Do what Jilly said and check out Ebay, or go to other bridal stores in your neighbourhood. If only you lived closer, I could take you to Sussmans.
  5. I love the second one, with the teal sash, it looks so good on you. I have not done it yet, but I think I will be getting my dress from Net Bride. They will match and beat any competitors prices, you send them the quote. I know a few people who have bought from them and saved a lot of money and only have good things to say about them. So, if I don't find a dress I like more when I go out again, that is where I will be getting my dress from.
  6. Sarah, congrats, that is awesome. Ann, of course a soccer game counts, good for you. I on the other hand did not work out today. I had a personal make up application course today, and next Sunday for 6 hours. I don't want to get my make up done in Cuba and hate it and not have a back up plan. So, I am learning how to do it myself. I am sure I will be too nervous, but if they make me look terrible, I will totally be able to step in and fix it. I just like to know how to do things. So, no working out today. I will be at the gym tomorrow though.
  7. That is totally enough time to plan the wedding. I am getting married in Oct 2007 and just booked the resort 2 weeks ago. So, you have lots of time. Good luck and enjoy your planning.
  8. Has anyone used them? They quoted me the best price, by far, for the dress I am thinking of getting. I want to know if anyone has any feedback on them. I emailed Net Bride to see if they will match that price because I have heard good things about them, but I have not heard back yet. Any help would be great. Also, does anyone know how I could find out what I will pay in customs for this dress as it will be shipped to me in Toronto from somewhere in the US. Thanks guys.
  9. Wow, that is awesome. I am not sure if Oriental Trading company ships to Canada though, and this site that Ann posted does.
  10. Those look awesome. What was the shipping like? Did it come fast?
  11. Wow, great price for the straw bag, I wonder what it looks like. If anyone orders them, please let me know.
  12. I had to weigh in today, instead of Sat like usual cause I went out of town. So, I am only down 0.5. I think it would be more if I could WI tomorrow, oh well, it will show up next week then. So, I am down 5 lbs total in 3 weeks. Good job Melissa, we all start with 1 lb. Keep it up, 1 lb a week is good in the long run.
  13. Welcome. I am from TO. You will love this site, everyone is so great here. Enjoy your planning.
  14. I think you have to do it all in moderation. I personally don't eat many things that say "fat free", I will eat low fat though. I don't like the idea of chemicals to make it fat free, if it should have a lot of fat. So, I opt for low fat instead and take the extra points. Its a matter of preference, and this is mine. Keep in mind, that you should be eating a lot of natural stuff, fruits, veggies, whole grains, etc.. so, the amount of fat free stuff should not be a major part of your diet. What I am trying to say is have it all, in moderation.
  15. Alright, I am writing this before reading other's posts. I think in number 1 you are looking at the camera and he is looking at you, it does not look as loving I think, sounds odd cause its a great picture, but number 2 gave me more of a happy feeling for the two of you, you look so in love. I hope that makes sense. They are both great though. I should clarify, I voted for #2

But, you need to go with what makes you happy and what you want for your wedding. So, I can't wait to see what the new ones look like.
  18. I did not go to the gym for a week and a half. I had a stomach flu, but still. We do all have really bad weeks, that is why we need someone to remind us and convince us to go to the gym. lol I am ony trying to help out.

But everyone has to have their own priorities okay I have no idea how to shade out areas, so I will PM it to you How come you are not using these invites? They are very nice and I think perfect for your wedding. Why the change?

I'll have to weigh in tomorrow because I'm leaving for the weekend to go see my cousin in Saskaton. But I'm thinking I'll be ok. As long as I don't gain. I hvaen't been eating much at all. My emotions have been killing my hunger so I'll just have to wait and see!!! When does everyone usually weigh in? Friday?? I weigh in on Saturday mornings. I think there are lots of different weigh in days on here, just do it when it works for you and post it on that day.
