  1. hey April!!! Glad to see somebody I "know" here I'll say it again- AMAZING photos and you looked fabulous. I'm very jealous!
  2. We peeked into the kids club when we were there. It looked really nice, but we never saw any kids in there. We played ping pong (outside by the pool) but they had books, games, TV, crafts etc in the room. HTH
  3. When we were in Cabo, we had several people (including locals) suggest that restaurant. We didn't get a chance to eat there, but did dine at Sunset de Mona Lisa.
  4. This is one of the 8 or so properties we visited on our scoutting trip & I wanted to post that we were very impressed with it. The grounds are very pretty (think lush & tropical) not just concrete hotel stuffed in a small strip of land. It's probably our top pick of hotels in the hotel zone, but they host huge conventions, so it's not always practical for weddings or wedding guests (groups) to stay there. I think they offer EP or AI plans, which is a nice option to have.
  5. Wanted to say that we stayed at the Marriott on our scoutting trip in June '06. I'm a big marriott fan b/c I travel for work quite a bit. The property/grounds are beautiful, but I was mostly disappointed with the hotel. Here's a review of my issues: -Location: it's in the Marina, which I guess it OK if you want to be in the marina, but I fell in LOVE with the South Coast once we drove there. To me, the feel of PV is the lush mountains and forests and greenery that are near Dreams, Playa Fiesta, Intercontinetal, Barcelo -Cost: it's not a true AI hotel and we paid a small fortune for everything there. Think over $2 for a can of coke or we'd split a $9 turkey sandwich for breakfast. Again- it might be alright for some people, but I'm too cheap -Rooms: the one we happened to get smelled VERY moldy/musty. I've heard many people stay there & have great rooms, but just not us. The room was decorated well, but very damp (think wet sheets, pillows, magazines/books, etc) Hope this helps somebody. I've got some photos & I'd be glad to answer any more questions about Marriott.
  6. Just wanted to say that we & most of our guests stayed at Dreams and I would HIGHLY recommend it to everybody. It wan't perfect (but what hotel is), but everybody kept raving about how beautiful everything was. It's really nice that the taxi ride to downtown is only $5 each way (up to 4 people in a car). The food was pretty good, but the buffet was awesome. My other favorite part is that the waves there are HUGE and crash on the beach all day and all night. It's so soothing (to me) to listen to them while you fall asleep. The rooms were older, but well maintained and cleaned. THe grounds/landscaping were beautiful! The employees were very nice & the service was excellent for the most part. Let me know if you have any questions about Dreams!
  7. This local photog puts all his wedding galleries online. He has photographed weddings at several popular venues in PV. Jose Arreola Puerto Vallarta weddings professional photographer - powered by smugmug Hope somebody finds this useful.
  8. I thought I had seen a link to how to invite others, but now I can't find it anymore. Can somebody please point me in the right direction? Thanks!
  9. DH & I stayed there on our HM. I have mixed feelings about it. If you are interested in a more through review, just contact me It's beautiful, but VERY pricy IMO (at least compared to Puerto Vallarta)
  10. I had my hair and makeup done at Blu by Len blu by Len They also did all my BM's hair and they had their nails done at the salon while I did my h/m trial the day before the wedding.
  11. We had tons of huge tubs with lots of stuff for OOT bags and decorations. DH got stopped by the customs guys and had to pay $100 I think it's just a luck of the draw thing...
  12. If privacy is an issue, consider Terra Noble (Terra Noble Spa Art & Healing Center / Shanti Healing Center / Puerto Vallarta Jalisco Mexico) You rent out the entire spa and it's all yours That was a big issue for my dear husband and also it needed to be somewhere handicapped accessible. I think Kristyen from DD does weddings there too. I've also heard nothing but raves about her and her wedding look amazing.
  13. Just wanted to say that I was married about a month ago at Terra Noble- in the hills over looking PV. The site was amazing! It was totally private and we could bring in everything exactly as we wanted. You can get any restaurant in town to cater, any florist, bakery, musicians, etc. It was nice and breezy and shady up there even at 4 in the afternoon. The guests kept raving about the view & the architecture and decorations around the Spa are really cool and unique. You have to go through a coordiantor to have your wedding there, but it was the PERFECT spot for us. Photos at Amanda and Humberto's Wedding Terra Noble Feel free to email me if you have any questions. [email protected] Amanda
