  1. I vote Las Caletas....I REALLY wanted to have my wedding there, but the flight just got to expensive and long because we are ALL coming from the East Coast....good luck with your planning
  2. Hahaha....Join the Club!!!! I have been trying to find a resort in Riviera Maya for awhile....I think I finally settled on Grand Palladium....have you been through the accomodations section in the Riviera Maya section? There is TONS of info there that should give you a good start.... Good luck!

Available in knee length, floor length or extra length. <P>Also available in Silk Shantung as style 9960. I forgot to add that in the back we are getting a really cute broach(sp?) instead of tying a bow. My dress has a broach on the side so it will look really cute together. LOVE them....I'm currently OBSESSED with Watters and watters stuff!!
  4. The dress looks FABULOUS! I think you found a winner! Do you feel comfortable in it?? Cause you look very comfortable and confident, which is the most important factor

    Hi

    Hi and Welcome!
  6. Well...I vote Grand Palladium (but I think I'm biased!!!).....I have to check out Barcelo Maya....I'm scared to look at anymore resorts! The whole not booking until June is driving me crazy also.....I feel like I can't do anything (STD, etc) until we are CERTAIN we can get the dates we want.....and we wanted to give people at least a year to save ect. Right now, we're just doing an "informal" word of mouth STD.....will Barcelo Maya let you book now AHHHH.....let me know what you decide!!!
  7. We're considering doing the same thing....just haven't decided on before or after.
  8. Ditto to everything said....hahaha....wish I could give more advice but I think everyone pretty much summed it up....DO NOT spend 600 on a veil! Good luck with the search!!!
  9. It really does suck that you have to deal with this.....My FI and his dad have a weird relationship and his dad is VERY critical of him and every choice he makes. They have not criticized us or our decisions in front of me, but they certainly have to him.....It is definitely unnecessary stress.
  10. I can't see any of these pictures....just red x's.....am I the only one
  11. Finally, finally....I have got a pretty good picture of my ring....not wonderful, since I don't believe pictures do any of our gorgeous rings justice Excuse my "old lady" hands....they look SUPER wrinkled in this pic...haha! Weird ?? And my mom's favorite part....the light up box it came in....hehehe
  12. Love them both but #1 is So unique....so that's my vote....

I think a lot of the Carat comments are made by women who weren't as involved in choosing their E-ring. They probably didn't educate themselves on how to select a stone, so the only thing they have to measure their ring is simply the size. But I will say that I'm not above the quick retort to people who compare theirs to mine in a negative way. I figure if they have the balls to open theirs mouths, I don't have a problem putting my foot in it. If they comment on the carat size, I'll simply look at theirs and then comment, "Wow, yours is so much bigger, but I guess some people just have to choose between size and a really good quality stone that will appreciate in value over the years." If they comment on the shape, I'll put my ring up to theirs and say, "Well, the round diamond actually is cut so that it reflects more light and has more briliiance and scintilation. See how much more sparkle mine has?" I'm not above being a b*tch.... OH MY GOODNESS!!! This is SUCH a great response and reaction!!! I love it! And you are totally right....so often, people try to not respond to a$$hole comments but that's why rude people continue to be rude, nobody responds in a way that put them in their place and highlights their rudeness and insensitivity!
  14. Hahahaha!!! Yay, thanks for sharing And I don't think that makes you sound like a b*tch at all! It would take alot more for me to consider you a B*tch....and by the way....EWWWW how RUDE! I have a friend that got engaged recently....(same one that started booking places before the proposal!) but anyway....she actually told us that her diamond doesn't sparkle because she was only concerned with the size and not anything else....she just said "This is how much he can spend...how big of a diamond can we get for that" Doesn't make sense to me, but some things are more important than others to different people....who knows!!!

Tammy, I think we NEED to hear this story.....hahahaha!!!!
  16. Those really are amazing pictures....I am impressed (yet again!)....you are fantastic Leigh and Ann, you guys have some fabulous pictures that really do show how in love you are!
  17. Your ring is gorgeous and people are STRANGE! I think alot of people, when they are jealous, feel that they need to make people feel bad because they are just not happy with what they have. I also think that people put WAY to much pressure on the ring and have no problem judging it outloud....its just rude. People I barely know will hear I'm engaged and grab my hand "Let me see the ring" before even saying congratulations or anything....its sorta uncomfortable.....
  18. Well, you can go by either one....like, if my maiden name was Smith and married name was Brown, then my license would say "Jennifer Erin Smith Brown" but at work, everything would just say "Jennifer Erin Smith" and I could sign everything that way, but if I sign my credit card reciept, I could sign it "Jennifer Brown" and it would still be legal.....you can go by either one or both.....so I won't do ANYTHING to my name at work....just leave it how it is now.
  19. Hilarious!!! I told Matt he can give me the second one on our first Valentines day after the wedding
  20. This is also something I have been thinking about alot and I think I FINALLY came up with a compromise.....I LOVE my last name, in fact, because I have a VERY common first name, most people call me by my last name or some variation of it. PLUS, my bachelors, my masters, and my clinical lincense are all in my maiden name and professionally I go by my maiden name (obviously!) Everyone keeps saying that I can get my degrees and license changed to my married name but the way I look at it is, I EARNED those as the person I am now with the name I have now and I am VERY proud of what I have accomplished.....plus, it really helps with privacy issues to have everything listed under Matt and his last name but to professionally go by my maiden name. On the other hand, I really do want the same last name as my children and I know that people will always call me Mrs. Married Name and I don't feel like correcting them all the time. So, someone suggested the whole switch my maiden name to my middle name and take the married name legally....BUT (and this is where it gets tricky!), because I will be signing things and filling out forms at my job with my maiden name, I need that to legally be my name.....So, I finally figured out what to do after consulting my lawyer at work! She told me that if I change my name legally to "Jennifer Erin MaidenName MarriedName" without a hyphen, then I can legally use EITHER last name.....whew....sorry for the long post....I was just REALLY excited when I figured out what I was going to do!!!
