How can you have a fun Karaoke sesh and not disturb everyone within earshot?? Inconceivable. You gotta love the accent on the American songs. Karen and I had the pleasure of a 12 year old or so boy on a bus in Cancun singing "Hotel California" las summer. "Got a lot of preeety preeety boys......." -
The wedding planning is going along pretty well. Getting down to crunch time though which adds a little stress. But, we paid our trip off, ordered our bands and all that good stuff last weekend. Still dealing with angry/sad/dissapointed family on my side though.

But, I saw her typing away on here last night right before I fell asleep on the couch watching the Yankee game. Its crunch time for us now so I imagine she will be asking lots more questions.

But, seriously, he doesn't get it that I don't have any answers for him yet and it takes a while to get things going when planning a DW. In reality, I think it is super cute and am very glad he is involved....most of the time. Tell him to join up on this site so I wont be one of the only guys anymore. Instead of Groomzilla, I am known as the Male Bride around our household. I have been very involved right from the start with all the planning and I would not do it any other way.

Dreams Tulum

Si si. I am indeed getting married there on July 4th. A month and a day before Lisa. My fiance, Karen, and I would be more than glad to help out. -
Tell me what you think I should do
lambert13 replied to acano1's topic in Destination Wedding Dresses, Wedding Attire & rings
I figured I would give you some perspective from a guy...... Get rid of it. There is no way I would want my fiance Karen to wear a dress that she had bought in preparation to marry another man, and I know she would never do that. Someone else gave the example of an engagement ring bought for another woman. I know Karen would not be happy with a ring that I bought for someone else either. I say sell it and use the money towards a new dress or donate it. -
Post Groom and GM attire

If anyone is looking for linen pants, Old Navy has them in khaki or brown for $25 right now. I just picked up a pair yesterday for the trip. They are very light weight and comfortable. Lots of short and long sleeve linen shirts there too. Oldnavy.com: CS Home -

cancun/RM question for anyone whose traveled there
lambert13 replied to *JillD*'s topic in Honeymoon Forum
To do cave diving you need (and probably should be) certified. Some of the cenotes do not have underwater access to cave systems and you might be able to dive in those ones. Not sure though. Everyone I have talked to about cave diving says it is quite the experience. You need the training for being in an environment where daylight is not able to be seen, and the training of how to not freak out in a tight cave 100 feet below ground. -

That is awesome. At least you could probably get within 20 feet of the puppet without needing an STD test afterwards. Cant say the same for I Love NY.

But, like I said, it's not scary at all, it's really very awesome!!!!!! Sounds like you guys would enjoy cave diving down in the Riviera Maya. I cant do scuba due to an inner ear disorder, but if I could, I would be exploring the underwater caves in a second. -

I freaked out because we have plans for the night of the 6th which would be ruined if that was the no alcohol day.

Most, if not all resorts down there still serve alcohol on Election days. I have been down there during that time and the beer and booze was still flowing at the resorts. Restaurants and bars off site are a different story though.

Great advice Matt. When we booked with Dreams Tulum, I explicitly stated that I wanted an answer to whether or not we could have an outside photographer without paying a penalty or room fee. It turned out that they allow it and we do not have to pay any fees for a day pass or the 3 night room stay I have heard about with other places. Basically, I wanted everything in writing from Dreams before I committed to that resort. In our research for a resort I excluded some possible locations based on their unwillingness to budge on the outside vendor issue. I found it ridiculous to pay the resort money for a service they were not providing.

If you were planning my wedding..
lambert13 replied to TammyB's topic in General Wedding Planning Information
Not exactly sure yet Tammy. I believe we have a few cake types to choose from that are included in our wedding package. We are not too picky about it since its just us. We just want a little cake for us to cut. -

lambert13 replied to TammyB's topic in General Wedding Planning Information
I think what you want to do is an awesome idea. One of our reasons for going alone is that I always say "on the day after our wedding I dont want to be sitting poolside with my father. I want to be with my wife". We figured that the best way to make such an important day be all about us is to have just the two of us there. No distractions or other people to worry about or cater to. Our plans are................. Ceremony at 10. Cake/lunch/etc right after. Beach time during the afternoon. And then probably a dinner for the two of us on the beach in the evening. -
For Dreams Tulum, all we had to do is ask. Our wedding coordinator had no issue with it and there are no additional charges or room fees. As far as I know our WC is sending our photographer (who lives and works near the resort anyway) a form to bring with her so that the front gate guards let her in.
