  1. Take a look at the honeymoon album linked below to see if you like anything. Most of the photos are from the Tulum/Akumal/Playa area. The other album I linked below is from our trip last year. You will have to deal with looking at some of our 'vacation' type photos, but there are some nice scenic shots in there as well. 2007 trip::: jnklambert/honeymoon photos - Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting 2006 trip::: lambert13/Cancun 2006 - Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting And thanks for the recommendation Ann!
  2. With the transfers it usually works a lot better if you get the transfers made for dark shits when you are putting them on any colored shirt. Avery makes them for dark tshirts. The transfer has a base layer under the transfer image so that the colors come out more vibrant. The Michaels near us has tshirts in just about every color you could want. Maybe you can order them through Michaels and pick them up at the store to save on shipping costs? If you are really stuck trying to find them I would be more than happy to buy them here and ship them to you if it works out fairly cheaply for you. Just let me know if that would help you out. If you calculate the shipping, we are located in Albany, New York zip code 12203 in case the shipping calculator needs a zip code.
  3. I know what you mean about how tricky the brush can be in the really detailed areas. Every time I play with photoshop I end up going to bed way too late.
  4. Good job on those Morgan! Which method did you use? For me, I find that the layer mask method works the best.

  6. Hola! My wife Karen (luckyk72) and I got married at Dreams Tulum on July 4th. Let us know if we can help you out at all.

I spent quite an amount of time researching photographers down there and once I had some contenders in mind I just started emailing them all. I outlined what we wanted and did not want and asked them what they could do for us.
  8. Karen and I used Vanessa Vargas when we got married at Dreams Tulum and were more than happy with her. What we did was to email just about every photographer in the area down there asking for prices on custom packages to fit what we wanted and what we could afford. Just about everyone responded with a price quote that was not part of their standard package prices. We chose Vanessa, because we loved her work so much, and she was also in the price range of what we could afford.

First of all please accept our most sincere congratulations for you getting married. Yes we provide transportation for that, all you need to do is give us a call once you've decided the date and time you want to hire our services. For example if you are staying at any resort in Puerto Morelos our current rates for that service (Puerto Morelos-Cancun Hotel Zone) are $70.00 USD one way trip or $135.00 round trip. The service is for up to 10 passengers and the time you want your driver to pick you up. He will take you down to Coco Bongo and then come back for you at the time you choose to take you back to your resort. Just remember that if you want to make any changes on your pick up time we need to ask you to do it 2 hours prior to the original scheduled time so we can notify our driver about those changes. I hope this information is of help for your purposes. If you have any other questions or if there is anything else we can do for you please let us know. Best regards, Adolfo That sounds like a pretty decent deal to me for transporting a bunch of people with a private driver.
  10. Once you get married in Mexico you are legally married (as long as it is a legal ceremony). What Sandra was probably trying to say is that the marriage certificate may not be considered a legal document outside of Mexico for things like name changes and whatnot without a translation and certification (apostille). The legal ceremony is not as big of a hassle as it seems to be.
  11. I would try Cancun Valet hhttp://www.cancunvalet.com/?p=p_16&sName=transfers-not-involving-the-airport . They have a great reputation in Cancun and if they can't provide transportation they would probably be able to steer you in the right direction.

  13. Good stuff! although sometimes I wish I had a cubicle here so that I wouldn't have to constantly see some of the life forms that "work" here.
  14. I will play this game too! I put one of my favorite holding hands pics from our wedding day into the signature.
  15. Excellent review Tammy! Mpix rocks. I have used them many times with consistently great results. One way to get an idea of what the different finishes and paper types are all about is to order their free sample pack. You can see the same photo in the different paper and finish types to give you a better idea what they do.

After hearing so much about the coffee there we just had to try it. We definitely liked it and even brought a can home.

And thanks for the link Paula, I do remember Matt's photos...a very cool historical town and I'm a history nerd so that's right up my alley! That sounds like an awesome trip. Just keep in mind that the Xcalak and Mahahual areas were the ones hit the hardest by Hurricane Dean. They are still very much in recover and rebuild mode right now. From what I have read, Northern Belize is still in pretty good shape after the storm and very ready for tourists. That may be a good idea for a base camp. If you wanted to check out some of the Yucatan ruins you could split your time between the two areas.
  19. Sounds good so far. Keep in mind that I will be the official ravioli tester and leftover eater for Karen's project.
  20. If you want to stay in the Riviera Maya, being as far south as you can be would be the best bet. From the Tulum area there are a lot of ruins sites that would be within day trip limits. Tulum- right there Chichen Itza- About 2 hours away Muyil- Half hour away Coba- 45 minutes away Staying closer to the northern end of the Riviera Maya will add extra driving time to just about any of the ruins sites you might want to visit If staying at a beach resort is not a big priority there are a bunch of other options for staying inland that would get you closer to quite a few more ruins sites. Along with the ruins there are a bunch of Haciendas and colonial towns and cities that would be lovely to visit.
  21. Screw that....call them up and tell them "no outside vendors.....no wedding there for you". If they still want to act like assholes about it and you still want to have your wedding there, just invite a photographer to be a guest at your wedding.

I picked everything out myself and did not even show Karen until the wedding day. I went for the no tie look. It was already hot enough in the suit and shirt. I did bring one with me just in case I changed my mind at the last minute though.

(I was holding onto the hopes that they rotated the horses or gave them breaks) I feel the same way Tammy. I can't stand seeing animals treated badly. For the bullfighting..... make sure they know what they are getting into. I have never been to one, nor will I ever go, but I know people who have. The fights are very bloody, gory and the bull ends up dead. A friend of mine who went said that by the middle of it quite a few people left and more than a few were in tears. Including some men. I realize that bullfighting is a tradition in some senses, but when they do it in tourist areas it is just there to make money and put on a show for the gringos. If they are ok with watching a bull getting stabbed repeatedly, tortured with spears and ultimately killed, I say go for it.
  24. There is a forum on that Debbie's page with a lot of good info as well. Since I am a forum junkie, I joined. There is a section on the board for wedding stuff too. Debbie's Dominican Travel Forums - Home
  25. Hola Renee....... Actually, Karen and I stopped at Liberty Travel yesterday to get some info and she thought all the choices you had were good ones. I know it doesn't help you narrow it down much, but seems like the ones on the list are good.
