  1. I need your help... how in the world do I get into contact with Claudia the wedding coordinator? Is she always this unresponsive? Tell me your secret...I'm about to pass on this resort because she has not sent me one iddy biddy email in 2 weeks. I have the coordinator at the Iberostar email 3 times and nothing from Dreams....Sorry to rant.......
  2. How about a glass bottom boat ride? Also, my grandmother went to the RM with us this summer and my dad took her out on a kayak so she wouldn't have to paddle. The Tulum ruins were interesting and from what I remember they have ramps for wheelchair access.
  3. I'm still waiting to hear from the wedding coordinator...should I be worried? I emailed her on July 8th and the 12th. I can't wait to get the resort finalized...I think I'm losing it
  4. Kelly, Thanks for the info. A travel agent I contacted yesterday suggested that I stay closer to Texas (ie. Playa or Cancun). She has a point because some of our family will only be joining us for 2 or 3 nights. Ocean sounds like a great resort, I will definitely contact Julisa once I can straighten out where we are going to get married.
  5. I started researching some of the resorts at Punta Cana and the prices are very reasonable. I would like to contact the wedding coordinator at Ocean Blue/Sands and the Iberostar Punta Cana, but I cannot find a direct email. Does anyone have this info? Also, any information on these resorts would be greatly appreciated! -Kacey

Good luck with your wedding...as for the wedding coordinator, Sandra, make sure you are persistent! She can be difficult to get in touch with and she was quite inattentive to my sister (I saw Sandra twice during the whole wedding/reception). Also, make sure they try your music out before your wedding. They did not do this for my sister and her music messed up during the wedding march...she ended up walking down the aisle without music. Nevertheless...it was a beautiful wedding, but remember be persisitent!
  7. Me too, will keep you all posted about getting my date. Thanks for the info.
  8. Go to trip advisor and search Tulum hotels...they should put them in rank order for most popular. Good luck!
  9. Paula, I emailed the wedding coordinator yesterday regarding my date, but I have not heard back from her. Does anyone have an email address directly to her?
  10. She's made me completely rethink what I want my dress to look like... I love the ballroom/A-line look but her dress looks easier to walk in
  11. I don't know if this link worked or not... these are some of the pics taken by the resort photographer at Dreams Tulum. Enjoy! Flickr: Photos from Karen Meyer
  12. Thanks all! That makes my decision a lot easier. I am very excited to hear from all of you, I am certain I will have more questions, but many of them have been answered by reading the posts. Thank so much!
  13. Hi all, I just got back from my sister's wedding at Dreams Tulum. It was beautiful and it has inspired me to stay with the Dreams Resorts for my own wedding. I would even consider going back to Dreams Tulum, but the the drive to the airport was around 1 hr and 40 minutes (we did not stop at all either). Also, I was not crazy about the wedding coordinator, Sandra, at Dreams Tulum. I didn't think she was as attentive to my sister as she should have been. That being said, I still liked the casualness of the resort while still being beautiful. When I saw the pics of the wedding gazebo at Dreams Cancun I knew that this was where I wanted to get married. My only problem is that we are going to get married March 15th in the height of Spring Break! Can anyone tell me if they have visited Dreams during this time? I stayed at the Marriott Casamagna a few years ago in March and it was completely unaffected by spring breakers, but that was the Marriott. Any info would be great! I'm happy to see that there are so many Dreams brides here! I spent the whole evening reading everyone's posts! If anyone has any question about Dreams Tulum I will be happy to answer questions and send you pics. Thanks, K
  14. Gorgeous pictures!! Thank you for sharing.... I love the music you have in the background.... beautiful.

    Saying HELLO

Welcome, I'm a fellow Austinite as well! We are getting married in MX in Mar. 08. Good Luck!
  16. Thanks for all the suggestions! I ordered a mint colored parasol from Asian Ideas but it's a bit lighter than I'm looking for. So now I've ordered a turquoise one from Luna Bazaar...I hope it's the right color. Can anyone post the aqua one from Asian Ideas... i can only find turquoise...very similar colors though.
  17. Thanks... I just started reading that post too! Guess I should have searched before posting!
  18. Okay, so my colors are aqua and chocolate brown.... I recently got espresso colored bridesmaid dresses and I need a way to incorporate the aqua without having yucky blue flowers So I am looking for aqua/blue parasols for the BM's to carry. I haven't found the exact color online, but I'm thinking about painting white ones just along the edges in aqua. Does anyone know what kind of paint I should use on paper parasols? Has anyone painted any parasols and can give some helpful advice?? Thanks! ~K
  19. Just in case there are any "Aqua brides" out there....J. Crew has really cute aqua dresses in the the strapless style (like the brown dresses I posted previously). I'm a little ticked that I didn't wait but I do love my espresso ones too
  20. Good question. I've been to Mexico 6 times and became ill when I returned home only once (the one time I was sick I was in Mazatlan for spring break and God only knows what I did to induce that). I typically drink tea and have sodas with ice cubes when I am at the AI resorts and I have not had any problems. The AI's should have their own water filtration system. Most websites will tell you if they do or not. The fruit is usually really good and a treat to have while sunbathing or lounging at the pool. My advice would be to be cautious...have a good time...try the fruit....bring Pepto, Immodium, etc...just in case. I think many people get sick more often from over indulging in the unlimited alcoholic beverages, but that is just my opinion. Best of luck! -K
  21. Jen, I hear ya! I pretty much have my mind made up that I'm going to be married at the Palladium March 2008, but every time I read a negative review I reconsider. I want to let you know that I was at the Palladium last May (2006) and my FI and I went to the wedding gazebo and it was very pretty and did not smell like pee. Regardless, my FI and I have looked at other's wedding pics at the Palladium and we actually want to get married on the Kantenah beach under a chiffon-made alter. I hope this is still an option?!? Best of luck!
  22. I'm kind of a dumb bunny tonight...I don't know how I did two posts...sorry everyone.
  23. My dresses were recently purchased at J. Crew...color: espresso $98, two girls have chosen strapless, one halter and the fourth is undecided.
