id say i get the official invite about 50% of the time. mostly i think people just want me to see them cause they are so excited about them i dont think they are expecting a gift from me - are they? and sometimes i try to photograph them here cause it just wont work to do them there. ann i will take pics of yours here. sorry i havent gotten to it yet but take one to PV too if you can.

i agree with whats been said. it doesnt sound like the mom or the photographer are a friends of yours so unless she is working with the photographer i wouldnt worry about it. she probably will just enjoy an evening relaxing at the resort.

personally i love the long, flying around all over the place veils its probably annoying for the ceremony but for the bride/groom pics its fun. and it can always come off! most brides dont wear them for the reception anyway.

im partial to the color in the second pic. im right there with you on being bored with my hair cut and color

hehe! that would be fun. but i have a great wedding at the wild animal park. the bride is wearing zebra striped shoes!!! and there are going to be peacocks at the cocktail hour. so maybe if you have some peakcocks at your place i could cancel my wedding and come on over

i may check into that! i just started today a weekly series of microderms and beta hydroxy facials. i hope it works. all this shooting out in the sun is killing me. i always wear sunscreen but still id like for these dark spots to go away.

oh and i forgot to mention michelle - i only meet with about 60% of the people that hire me prior to the wedding day or engagement session. so thats not unusual either its all good!

Thanks in advance! hi michelle - i understand your apprehension. i felt the same way about three years ago when i was looking for a photographer and hired matt kim from northern california. but it all worked out well! as a photographer here are a few thoughts i have. yes you should have a contract. it seems you havent seen it though? have you asked your photographer about the payment plan? it should be spelled out in the contract - what the retainer is and when the balance is due. i require a 50% retainer to book the date the other 50% due 3 months before the wedding date for destination weddings. this is not unusual for destination weddings. as for guarantees that your photographer will show up....is this a photographer others you know have used? do they have a good reputation? honestly my reputation and word are so important to me that i would never blow it by not showing up for a wedding. if they have ANY business sense at all they would never do that either. there has to be a certain amount of trust between you and your photographer. so i would first ask for the contract and move forward from there. unfortunately there are no guarantees about anything but any photographer who didnt show up for a wedding would be shooting themselves in the foot and risk ruining their business. so i understand your fears but the likelihood that they wouldnt show up is very small!!! so i hope that makes you feel a little better if you want to pm me their name i can let you know if they are someone i know, have heard of, or know something about. of maybe some of the gals here know something about your photographer. anyway - hope that helps. congrats!!!

what kind of dogs do you have? i have a lab and was able to find some contacts and dog sitters who love dogs through lab rescue.

can you post a pic of the new dress? that might help me understand what might work to help it fit. as far as the bust goes - can you just buy one of those super push up big boob bras from victorias secret or something? have you checked on the cost of alterations? i think you still have plenty of time if you get it in quickly. does the dress have a sash or anything like that? could one be added? just some thoughts...

right now that last weekend in june is free. i was thinking weekday. like a tues/weds-friday. i should be able to make it work on that weekend though. especially if i have enough shooting to do while im there if i had 5-6 engagement or boudoir sessions to shoot on that trip then i wont care if its on a weekend. boudoir and engagement sessions are priced the same. both are $500 with online proofing/gallery and each have a $200 print credit. albums start at $500. you can email me if youd like. thanks so much for your kind comments glenda - and everyone else. these gals just make my job easy there are a few tweaks that help the eyes really pop. but they all have such beautiful eyes to begin with!

sounds great! if im coming to canada maybe we can get 6 gals? if you are really serious i can email you pricing and then i will post it on my blog if were are a gal or two short. should be able to find a few that way. edited to add. mid-june wont work my son is graduating from high school june 14th and i will be at anns wedding the weekend before. it will have to be during the week. the last week in june looks ok and right now july23-27th. aprils too short notice to really make it work. may is pretty booked up with engagement sessions and weddings in riviera maya and virginia and of course the normal ones in san diego. the entire month of august is out cause im in cabo, sonoma, cape cad, the england, all for weddings 4 weekends out of that month.

well heck i went to chicago in feb and it just doesnt get any colder than that. so i have no excuses! i even made ann and paul go to the beach with snow on the ground for the ES
