i probably get about 1/2 a dozen tips a year. i always put that money back into the client - extra album pages, a big print, etc... and i NEVER expect a tip. i think the most ive received is $600. and jill and jonathan are telling the truth. what i love getting the most is a real letter. telling me how special the wedding photos are to them and why. not even telling me how wonderful i am, but how much the photos mean to them. its great to be appreciated!!! ann it would be so cool to get a we love our wedding photos haiku

lauren - i just got back from a wedding there. its my second one at that resort. you can read a little about the trip here - http://bestdestinationwedding.com/forum/t5102 (i will be posting actual wedding pics from that trip tomorrow and will let everyone know.) ive always been on the guestlist and ive always stayed there. my couples pay a set travel fee (so they dont pay more if i decide to stay somewhere more expensive. its on me) then i just stay where i want but 99% of the time its where the wedding is. its easier. no one at EDR has ever said a word. i dress more like a guest and try to stay on the downlow. but if im staying at the resort and on the guestlist im not sure what they can do.

ok...ive been sitting here wondering if i should respond to this and if you REALLY wanted to know what a photographer might think about this. so here goes you need to get her permission. it would be wrong to use it without. you are violating her copyright by taking it from her website and using it without her permission. and you are publishing it. this photo is her property. saying youve emailed her a few times and havent heard back and are going to use it anyway is kind of like waiting at a cash register to pay for something and then just deciding to leave with it because no one came to ring you up i would call her. if a bride of mine wanted to use a pic from my site i would probably say yes and email her the file. the fact that you thought to put her website and info on the STD is leaps and bounds beyond what some people even think of im sorry she hasnt gotten back to you. my guess is shes started her very busy season. your relationship with your photographer is all about trust. and i think if someone took something from my site without my permission and used it for their STDs i would not be happy and would feel ripped off. photographers are really sensitive about this subject. we take what we do very seriously and work really hard. when someone takes our work and uses it without or permission its disappointing and frustrating. i hope that helps. on a side note - i would be surprised if what you downloaded from her website was of good enough quality to be printed anyway. and pss- im not talking about saving pics from my web or blog for your wedding planning or ideas and swapping and sharing those pics. that doesnt bother me and part of why i keep a blog. to share ideas, decor, hairdos, etc...

thanks everyone for your kind comments. jessalyn was just a dream to work with. and i did some maternity shots of her friend MJ who was beautiful as well. im so lucky. i cant wait to see jessalyns wedding pics - jonathan will do amazing work im sure. and i have enjoyed looking at all the recent beautiful brides and their wonderful wedding pics.

had a wonderful BD session with jessalyn yesterday. shes such a sweetie. heres a preview. (there is also another shot im waiting to get approval on and will edit it in if jessalyn gives it the a-ok. its a great booty shot!) ps- i dont know why they dont maintain their sharpness when i put them up this way. please keep that in mind

i love these! tammy i just did some maternity pics yesterday. i will email you when they hit the blog. totally cute little mommy and some with her baby. shes due again in about a month and the kiddies will be about 13 mos apart. you look wonderful. and the rest of you too
