  6. and if its all concrete you can put your tiki tourches in a nice pot with some sand in it to anchor them.

Excellent job! sarah - i think you are biased! i think i might see ann next month. wish we could have a chicago boudoir gals reunion. i dont see lenita on here much. hope all is well with you.
  8. glad you gals like it. im really excited about doing this at more weddings. there were plenty of posed moments but i love the images captured almost during the split seconds in between the posing. i manned the booth. this is something i couldnt give up. part of it for me was drawing people out and getting that reaction. i actually brought a third person along with me to that wedding so they could help with the set up and then cover the reception while i was doing the booth. it was set up and running for about 2 hours. i got 9' paper and hung it from a frame. had to bring a flash and umbrella and then a big honking battery (not needed if theres an outlet) to keep the flash firing. i scouted the location beforehand. it takes about an 11'x15' area. as i said before setting it up outside would not work. especially in mexico where it always seems to be breezy at outside receptions. there are a lot of different ways to do it. i just kept with what sean told me cause i really wanted that almost sterile background. i did toy with the idea of using a different background but went back to the plain ole background.
  9. hey gals i finally got around to trying on of those photobooth things at a wedding reception. i love the results and thought id share. it would probably be pretty darn impossible to do for a DW but not if the photog was local. i just couldnt transport all that with me to do it. and you need at least a covered stable place to set up. wind would knock over the frame. this was outside but set up between two walls that prevented wind. just thought id share cause i know how you gals love to see pics. here you go - morgan and scotts photobooth slideshow.

  16. Second - Have any of you spent time in San Jose del Cabo? We purposely chose this town because it's more our pace ... we like the historical / colonial aspect ... a little less-developed than Cabo San Lucas, hopefully a little less of the spring-break crowd! Anyways - I would love to hear any recommendations on restaurants / shops / etc. coopers has great italian food and live entertainment. and theres a cool bar/restaurant called tequilla. cant go wrong with either. ive eaten at coopers on every trip to cabo, always great. and great fresh mango margaritas
  17. if you post your honeymoon dates you may find another photographer will be there during your stay. is that ok to post tammy?
  18. hey jen and anyone else on here doing ns. have any recipes? last night i had the pizza - added seasoned artichokes, basil, tomatos and a little feta cheese on the top. yummy! almost as good as the restaurant down the street and salad with tomatoes a few pumpkin seeds and sprayed with balsalmic vinegar salad spray. if youve got anything that you do to spice things up id love to hear it. i really dont mind the food. beats jack in the box anyday
  19. yes please feed your photographer! most couples book me for 8 hours or more on the wedding day and most of the time i have little to no downtime until dinner comes. ive never had a couple NOT feed me. and only once have i had the "vendor meal", while everyone else had steak & shrimp i had a cold ham sandwich with mayo (yuck!) and fries. im pretty close to most of my couples by the time the wedding comes around and i promise you, no one will be working harder than me on the wedding day. often im seated at a table with guest but that really doesnt matter to me if i sit with the guest or not. i even had a couple email me this week. they are getting married at the ritz and invited me to bring my husband or one of my sons to the reception for dinner. (thats unusual though, but wow how thoughtful!) also when planning events you might keep in mind where your photographer will be. if you are having toasts at the same time your photographer is being served their dinner on the patio that doesnt work very well. and if youre having a sit down dinner and its possible you might want to have your photographer served at the same time you are. that way they can eat while you eat and then be back up snapping away. i say if its possible because i had a couple request that and the caterer refused. eventhough the bride and groom wanted me to eat when they did so i could have a nice meal then follow them while they said hi to everyone the caterer refused to plate my meal until everyone else had been fed! i later found out is because they make a certain % less than ordered, expecting some guests to not show up, and they want to make sure they have enough food for all the guests. so yes i wrote a book but please feed your photographer. i think i wrote so much cause i started the nutrisystem this weekend and im a little hungry
  20. heidi. im so sorry for the loss of your father. sounds like youve got a good grasp on your emotions. losing someone is always hard but a loss like yours obviously has additional complications. im glad you have a supportive partner. and lots of gals to talk to here.
