  1. ohhhhhhh my old home! I used to live in Kona so I'm very familiar with this place and the beach there. Great photos! do you remember who the photographer for the wedding was?
  2. very nice! you look amazing! Congratulations. Looking forward to seeing more.
  3. Sorry, I forgot to mention that when I'm shooting a wedding I'm there the entire day until the end. If your photographer isn't going to be there during the meal then there would be no need for you to have food for them. But, if they are going to be there during any part of the meal, I think it would be a nice gesture to have food for them even if they've only been there a short time. I would also take into account when their time is done though. If they are leaving within 10-20 mins of the food being served, there probably isn't a need to feed them.
  4. Yes, always include your vendors in your meals. and leave a seat for them as well. Fortunately my clients have always been kind enough to mention it before hand so I didn't have to bring it up but I've heard many other photographers get upset about "vendor meals" and being stuck in another room. Caterers sometimes will put together a vender meal which is usually less than desirable. After being on my feet for 10+ hours its nice to have a decent meal and I'm always grateful with clients leave a seat and meal for me.
  5. Hey Dan, glad to see you made it ;-)
  6. Hey Salome, welcome! This will be a great place for you gather info for your wedding. There are a few other DR brides here as well. Jonathan
  7. Tammy, I understand about being uncomfortable. No offense taken. But, I think you'd feel more comfortable with a guy doing these types of photos if you met him first. Where as with a girl, you don't feel like you would have to meet her. Completely normal. Keep in mind, there are many guys who do this type of work and are also very good at it. I'm just as professional and work in the same way any girl would for this type of shoot. Every girl I've shot with has said afterwards how comfortable they felt and appreciated that. So, don't completely rule it out. I'm very close so it would be very easy to set up and just get together to meet sometime. You could always bring a girlfriend with you which would help.
  8. It could be she might be using her mom as an assistant. In which case she would be at the wedding anyway.
  9. I've been to Thailand a few times and loved it. I never had problems any time I was there. I'm sure it will be fine. Was there something in the news recently that I missed? Why would it be more crowed than normal?

  11. I don't ask people to sign contracts for portrait shoots. I don't ask for a deposit really either. I'm not sure why they would require one for just an engagement type portrait session.
  12. lol, we better not be hearing about you on the 6 o'clock news. I can see the headlines now. "Virginia teacher seduces student with boudoir photos" lmao just kidding. great photos Christine. Another great shoot by Leigh.
  13. Great story Matt. I'll be having someone take photos when I propose as well. although, I'm still waiting to meet my pen pal Congrats! I look forward to meeting you both sometime soon when I have some weddings your way.
  14. I'm not sure what brand albums Juan uses but here is a link to what my coffee table albums are like Graphi albums They are made by a company in Italy called GraphiStudio. My rates for them start at $1795 BUT... most of my packages INCLUDE one of these so it saves you money.

  19. just to clarify, photos printed today last a VERY long time. Hundreds of years or more. There are still photos taken in the 1800's that are still available today.
