My opinion may be slanted because I am a photog, but in a word, no. I would think that if your FI's good friend makes a living at photography then you would need to pay for his travel as well as his photography fee. would FI's friend be going to the wedding if he wasn't the photog? you also need to consider how much work dw's are from a photogs stand point. Could FI's friend stay home that weekend and shoot another wedding? making the same amount of $. just things to consider... ~ nic -

thanks everyone!!! When Brooke (mom) came over to pick up the photos I showed her a quick slide show that had her in tears.. but I wanted to see what the neutral parties thought. thanks for the feed back and all of the kind words! they mean a ton to me.

Thats pretty much the norm. I ask for 50% for a retainer and 50% 30days before the wedding. I mean the reason why I choose to do it that way is I hate dealing with $ on your wedding day. Thats another thing that you would have to deal with and can be finalized before your wedding day. Trust me, the last things you want to be dealing with on your wedding are vendors and the money situation... -
