Grace Ormonde - and other mags.
cheese_diva replied to jthrasher's topic in General Wedding Planning Information
I'm not familiar with this magazine. I do have to tell you as someone that works for a magazine publisher.. you can always negotiate the rate further than the rate card. We sell full page ads for 8-15,000 per issue, but if we have a page or space that isn't sold, we place filler or free ads. Usually it's for someone that has ran at least once, but not always. Check out the magazine and look for ad space that may be promoting their magazine or website.. that's often unsold space. Not sure if that helps or not. I only bought 1 bride magazine and that's because I needed something to read on the plane. Everything else I found online. -

I just went back through my guest list.. there are only a few people that I wasn't sure if they were coming or not, but all the "important" family members and friends that have said yes, just finished booking. I feel like I'm nagging people, I sent an email at the end of April that they were booking up fast and just sent another to say they were full for Oct 26th. I'm not planning on sending my invites until July and don't want people to wait until then to figure out they can't stay at the resort with us. My email in April prompted the last remaining "important people" like Matt's sister and one of my bridesmaids to book, hopefully the same will happen.

What size paper lanterns?
cheese_diva replied to KARALANE's topic in Wedding Flowers, decoration, cake, etc.
I bought 18- 10" & 12- 12". I'm renting wiring from Dreams Resort (Cabo) -
I was assuming it's the same wiring they used for previous weddings...wonder why they would have to change things up?

I wonder if Maye would be allow to work her magic at Dreams.. that's a pretty big difference.

Someone, please stop me! Advice on decor.

They are best in the smaller size lanterns...not bigger than maybe 12in or so. Here's the website...the lanterns and stuff are under the Home Decor catagory. Japanese Kimonos, Chinese Paper Lanterns, Chopsticks, Chinese Dresses [/url] Thank you, Thank You! You just saved me $15.50! I ordered paper lanterns from paperlanternstore.com last night. The wire ones I wanted were out of stock for the last month so I ordered bamboo.. anyhow, I was able to cancel my order this morning and order from asianideas.com, got the ones I originally wanted and saved some cash! woohoo! -
Leigh is right on. I work for a magazine publisher. We create reprints of articles for clients. Often, photographers require extra payment to use the same photos that were printed, even if it's just a reprinting of the same article. If permission isn't granted, you could be into some serious $$$. I know it isn't the same, but your relationship is worth more... maybe she'd cut your head off in all your photos. lol

Fernando D. Ramirez - Photographer
cheese_diva replied to cheese_diva's topic in Cabo Wedding Vendors
I just realized he emailed me a bunch of pics. If someone wants to send me a PM with their email address, I'll be happy to forward. -
I added the day pass info on our website. (our guests will be expected to cover) I'll be sending invites approx 4 months before the wedding date as a reminder to those people who tend to procrastinate that times almost up. Most of our guests booked right after I sent out our Save the Dates (some before they even went out!)

I don't think so, but he should be able to email you photos. http://www.loscabosguide.com/fernandoramirez/index.html -
Do you think it cools down enough at night in October or November to need a pash? If so, I'd love to get in on this order.

Wedding Planner/Coordinator Budget ?
cheese_diva replied to lavalos's topic in Destination Wedding in Cabo
Maye's prices vary from approx $675-$975+ depending on the type of ceremony. There is extra paperwork involved if you have a religious/civic ceremony vs. a symbolic one. You also pay a premium for her vendors. I think it's 10%. I will say she's GREAT to work with. You'll find allot of cabo vendors take FOREVER to get back you to or there are some that are spanish speaking only which may prove difficult. Maye gets back same day or next in most cases and is willing to work within your budget. -
Wedding in Cabo - Budget questions
cheese_diva replied to sallytrip's topic in Destination Wedding in Cabo
I just sent you an em, but type "budget" in the search field at top of forum.. lots of info from several brides... some are copy and pasted generals, but keep in mind, prices in '06 can vary allot from current prices. I found that out even from the brides at the end of '06 when I started planning in early '07. -

I know when I booked in February most Saturdays were gone. (we're getting married on a Sunday). Who did you pick for your photographer? -

Luckily my Mom's paying for half of the photographer's cost and the wedding dress so that's less for us to worry about on bottom line. Most of this spreadsheet is based on approximations so it's still a bit loose on the tuning. It really really does add up and I'm starting to worry myself a bit. Time to see where I can simplify. I see for your excel sheet you don't have money for flowers and a bunch of items yet. Just a few notes. The wiring at Dreams for the lanterns is $180. The ceremony setup is separate from the reception (unless they are at the same location). I paid $44 just in immodium/tylenol for the small packets. I think the Mariachi has a 2 hr minium. If you have koozies printed, there's usually a screen setup charge. What's the water cooler bottle for bar that you have listed? The water at Dreams is included. That's one thing we loved when visiting.. we had a drink and a water every time so we weren't dehydrated. You can totally do this.. I worked with other girls budget numbers to come up with my budget, then decided what I had to have and what I could live without. It's easy to go crazy here. We didn't count our stay so that made the budgeting that much easier. -
Dreams Los Cabos Info & Pics
cheese_diva replied to TammyWright's topic in Cabo Accommodation & Site
White linens are included in the setup. (chair covers, but no ties, white napkins, but not colored) Centerpieces are not included, but table settings are. They have colored options for rent. I don't have specifics, but Yessica should be able to send. I think it works best to break out your questions.. If you clump a couple of questions in one paragraph only one or two seemed to get answered. (At least from previous experience). -
Opinions Needed: Door Hangers
cheese_diva replied to RAENJAY's topic in Wedding Flowers, decoration, cake, etc.
I love the hangers.. I vote to use the tag for something else. You should put your hanger instructions, ie exact paper stock used and where you got in the DIY section. Speaking for myself and other girls, I love the details! Thanks so much for the info given so far. Your creativity is a great inspiration to the rest of us wanna be DIYers! -

How big of a pain was it to cut all your hangers out? -

Love the door hangers! I'm thinking about doing this too, but with a funny saying about do not disturb because they were out too late... I think I'm missing something, what's the tag for?
