My co-worker just got back from Cabo and said El Archo collapsed recently.. is that true? How sad! I didn't see it either time we were in Mexico and was planning on it this trip.. I also have pictures of it in my guestbook and postcards..

Very cool! My favorite halloween recipe is kitty litter cake. You serve crumbled cake mixed with pudding and crushed cookies in a litter pan and scooper.. melted tootie rolls top it of when formed in to kitty poo. You're a very talented artist.. I hope you win!!!

I plan on writing a review for yellowpages.com.. that's where I began my search to find an alterations person.. I'm going to be fair but honest about how she had no attention to detail and wasn't honest about her pricing. I don't like reading the emotional reviews and usually just disregard them as some crazy person complaining.. she's a local vendor so it's not like it affects any of the brides on here, but definately could affect local brides. If I wanted to be screwed on alterations, I could have taken my dress to a shop in my town and known how much it would cost up front, not drivin 30 minutes out of my way! She came recommended not by someone who used her but by a co-worker who knew people that would drive their clothes to the lady because she did a good job. Like I said, I don't think I paid crazy amount for the hemming and hook for bustle but wish I would have known up front. There was another place I was going to check out but for $100 I thought why bother.

So everything was suppose to be done last week and the lady said she'd call me.. she never called so I just figured "free storage" since I didn't NEED it right away. I called two days ago to let them know I was coming yesterday to pick it up. Her husband make a joke about how they thought maybe the wedding was cancelled and that's why I didn't come... I said "no, Anna was suppose to call me and she didn't." He made the joke again when I came into the store. I get there and he shows me the dress.. back up.. I asked Anna to look over the dress and make sure there weren't any loose strings or beads.. either tighten them up or remove the string. He opens it and mind you my dress was "ready" last week.. first thing I see right in the center a 1.5" string hanging straight off the dress with a bead on it. I pointed it out and he goes to PULL it off!!! I stopped him and he took it back to his wife.. I was hoping to be in and out of there in 5-10 minutes because I had someone to be.... 20 minutes later he brings back the dress and says she fixed it and also fixed the hook on the back which was loose.. That's the only thing she had to do besides clean it since the last time I saw her.. I'm assuming that means she didn't move the hook until then. I'm in a hurry at this point and ask him how much.. he goes back to get her. She comes up and asks what happened to me last week and starts to chuckle about their joke. Again I remind her that she was suppose to call me when it was ready and she's like "oh no I said Monday or Tuesday".. funny my bridesmaids who were with me remember the conversation same as I do. I was quoted $100 when I brought it in after we discussed what was needed... she comes up with the bill... $215!!!! I told her that wasn't correct and she quoted me $100 plus $30 if she had to take in the dress and reapply beads. (She didn't have to reapply any beads, just move the hook). The bill states $150 for the hem and $65 for spot cleaning.. She never told me there was an additional charge for the cleaning. What did she think I wanted to wear a wrinkled dress She made the excuse that there were 4 layers to hem and one was tougher than she thought. I was furious.. there were 4 layers when I brought the dress in at the beginning of September. I'm not saying $215 is outragous, but it's certainly not what she quoted me at no time did she call or inform me that there were going to be additional charges. She could tell I was pissed when I told her to just charge my card and that I didn't want to argue because I was late. ( I was there for half an hour.) I also told her I couldn't recommend her to anyone else and that I wasn't happy. She just kept saying that everyone would charge me the same. She informed me she took $15 off the bill.. gee thanks!!! I told her I understand things cost money, but that she never told me.. you want to know what her answer was? I NEVER ASKED!!!! She she's so lucky I didn't jump across the counter and strangle her.. I told her if I took my car in and they gave me an estimate, if it was going to cost more they wouldn't do the work, they would call to make sure it was ok. Seriously, I could have been on BRIDEZILLA.. I was waiting for the camera crew to pop out. My blood pressure was so high. I just needed to leave. I was fine once I left, but every time I think about it, I get so pissed.. Am I being too emotional? I HATE bad customer service.

Careful girls with your dyeables.. very cute but if they get wet, I heard the color will run.. you'll be fine for your wedding and such, but if you do a trash the dress, or get too close to the water during pictures you might have a problem.

ah! We're probably going into town on Friday night but that's probably the only time we're leaving the free drinks ( I mean "pre-paid" drinks). Double check that they receive your payment through Transcabo. I paid on the 12th and they just told one of my guests who inquired about a change that I hadn't paid yet! Ah.. I'm sure it will get straightened out.. I forwarded them paypal receipt, but just double check.. I'm not freaking out.. at least not yet. I feel pretty ready. Of course I regretting not buying a purse and stupid little stuff but no time to do that now. All the major stuff is ready.. just need to pack it all up and get the heck down there!

I think you're dealing with two separate issues.. first if her scans come back.. you guys will need to deal with that regardless.. I think it's probably very important for her to see the wedding. you should do it! We're getting married at the courthouse the day before we leave on the downlow.. nobody else needs to know what you guys did, but it would be so special for them to be a part of your day.. I think you should do it! Go with your initial feelings.. seems like a beautiful gesture for someone who may not have alot of time left with you guys.. know what I mean?

Shelley, What a tough decision for the two of you to make. I'm really proud of you, like everyone else has said, for not pushing forward just because.. Is a good compromise to go through with your plans to marry on the beach just at a smaller scale and maybe before that day, have a home wedding (smaller scale also)? Do you have guests that have booked? We're here for you!

Question: How did she get your TA's info or know exactly when/where the wedding is? I get that they were talking about it, but guys don't normally go into details about who to call.. do they? That's weird. I can't wait to see the photos.. don't forget to have your photographer take a picture of her with the two of you.. what a story to tell!! lol

We have aqua dresses.. the girls' flowers are prinks and oranges. I've seen so many beautiful photos with those color combos. I'm not really using orange/pink in anything else and my flowers are orchids and cream roses (Tammy's bouquet)

I need to get me some of that Photoshop.. does that come in a tablet? once or twice a day? lol Great photos! You look beautiful!

We used Transcabo for airport transfers in '05 (group of 6) and we used them for their shuttle service during our site visit. They respond so quickly and were great both times. We just booked them for our guests transfers and paid in full. I have no worries about them as a company based on past experiences.

Did you use a TA to book the flights? I'm sure the hotel could help you out too. We arranged but did not pay for shuttles (except some of our family members) but that's in Cabo so I'm no help. Good luck!

You must be so excited to meet Angela and Matt.. j/k lmao... We're going to have a great time! I loved our site visit. We found time to drink some tequila and hang out by the pool a lot more than we thought we would. We'll have to make plans to meet up.. I'm sure you'll see my family everywhere at the resort. Dreams isn't very big at all.. just listen for the screaming girls as we go down the waterslide in a big chain!

The Koozies were from http://www.kustomkoozies.com/ Lots of girls used them (great vendor) just search Koozie or Coozie under Threads and they'll all come up. We got the hard ones, but the collapsable is probably more practical. We just brought them with us to Cabo in a large duffle during our site visit. I like the idea some girls had to get the bride/groom on in a different color foam. (no extra cost).

We're having 40 guests. (24 OOT Bags)
