  1. I'd like to do one, I have read that pre marital counselling is one of the high indicators for successful marriage. I mean, everything is fine, and we communicate really well also, but people tell me that you would be surprised at the types of things that may come up. By the way, I also have that 1000 questions book, and it is fun! We sometimes do it when we are out for a coffee on a weekend or something. It's not really helpful I wouldn't say, just kind of more of an interesting thing to do when bored.
  2. Thanks for answering Melissa! Great info, I'm sure I'll have more questions later. In the meantime though, i'm just enjoying looking at your wonderful photos!!
  3. Oh no Melissa! So sorry! But thanks for sharing - we were going to do that too, but now we will probably heed your advice, so thank you - and so sorry that they didn't turn out well.
  4. The OOT bags are great! And who was your photographer? Gorgeous photos.
  5. Melissa, I'm so late because I've been away on vacation, but they are so fantastic! And the best thing is how happy you look!!!! Congratulations, Congratulations. Yay yay yay, such beautiful pictures, and I loved the mariachis too. so, more questions. What time was your ceremony? And were you happy with the pics from the resort photographer? They looked good! Did you have a reception afterwards? I love the photo with your rings!!! And your bouquet was gorgeous!
  6. Jen, I finally just started calling places, and it was SOOO much easier - you get someone on the phone and you can ask all your questions at once. So, is Xcaret your latest pick? Are you still thinking about Grand Palladium?
  7. Oh my goodness, i come back from a week's holiday to 4000 posts, and it was perfect timing because I didn't have to wait to see Ann's dress! I just opened the thread, and by the time I read to the end, all the pics were there! Ann, I love it! It's gorgeous, I love the detailing and the lace, and I can't wait to see real photos, you're fabulous looking!!
  8. Oh my goodness! If I wasn't already so excited for my september session with Leigh, I am even more excited now -- christine, you look incredible!!! Well done, so sexy!!!!!!!!! My FI is a teacher too, and I wanted to share all the teacher comments with him, but I can't, because I want my boudoir session with Leigh to be a surprise for him. Can't believe you're going to be in London, i'm so lucky! and so excited.
  9. Melissa, that is RIDICULOUS!!! About the blood, are you kidding? I'm definitely seriously considering the legal wedding here!!! Otherwise it sounds so perfect!!!! Well done, gorgeous, gorgeous. So, since I am getting married there too, I have some questions -- sorry!! Okay: 1. What airline did you fly, sounds like they were really good! 2. What package did you have - were the gorgeous flowers and such just the ones that came standard in the flowers? 3. Where was the reception, in a banquet hall somewhere? what did that look like? 4. Was the ceremony on the beach really crowded? Lots of people staring, or was it somewhat secluded? 5. How many guests did you have again? Great work on the favours, sounds like it worked out perfectly! It sounds so wonderful! Congrats congrats, can't wait to see more pics.
  10. It's true, we need lots more pictures, but I'll give you a few days to relax and get used to being married But the beach looks gorgeous!! Like Ann says, not crowded at all! congratulations congratulations
  11. This hasn't happened to me yet, but I only just let people know when it was, and it's still 11 months away. But, I totally agree with you!! They're all crazy, SOOOO rude, and so ridiculous! Especially since you're having a destination wedding in Mexico, it's ridiculous!
  12. Very cute, will call and enquire about price!
  13. Yeah, usually the TA gets the best rates, so I would guess that when you talk to her, she'll be able to talk with the resort and improve her rates, I'd try that first!
  14. Yeah, I've been thinking about this a lot too... not sure, I mean, I still have 11 months, so not in a rush to decide, but, it does feel like the date is slightly marred if you get married at home, but is so much easier!! Actually, our original plan was to get married on Feb 22nd here, so it would be the same date, and just a different year! But... we didn't get our acts together to do that... So, I think I like Natasha's idea, doing it the day we get back, just on our own, and not telling anyone. Though, i do like Kash's idea! Maybe we can think of one of our guests who could marry us... nice.
  15. I love the idea Tammy, and I think it should be a private - behind closed doors, area, because honestly, almost everyone that has 'graduated' will be private members anyway -- but that way, we don't have to worry about people signing up, with a wedding day of next week, just to get in... I think balancing work and husband, and work and friends is a good one too! Also, I'm not worried about it being non wedding related, because it's for after you get married!
  16. Hi ladies, So this past weekend, Eric and I set up our registries. We had decided that we didn't want gifts because everyone would have to pay so much to travel to Mexico, and, we're living in a tiny flat in London, but not sure how long for, probably moving back to the states in a year or so... so accumulating lots of stuff is a pain -- not to mention the fact that we've both lived on our own for a long time, so we have everything we need. But, for those people that still want to give, we decided to do charity registries, we registered at: Donate Money to Charity - Charitable Giving - Donation - Give to Charity which is a list of charities you can keep as your registry for people to make donations to and then ChangingThePresent which is actually more like a real registry, you pick items and people buy them. We are really pleased with this idea, because we are really serious about not wanting gifts, and think this is a lovely way for people to spend their money if they want to. Problem is -- people keep telling us we HAVE to register, that people are going to buy us gifts no matter what we do, so we should register in order to avoid getting crap. But, I think if we register, that's sending mixed messages, adn then the people that would be okay with not getting us stuff, will feel like they have to get us stuff. What do you think?
  17. oooooh, congratulations!! Hope you have the best time.

  22. Ooooh, these links are great!! By the way, I live in the UK, and travel to the US fairly regularly... Not sure when my next trip is, maybe in beginning of June, so if anyone wanted to order something to me, i could bring it or ship it over...
  23. Thanks Maria, I'm still fooling around with mine, will post when I finish it, what a great idea, thanks!
