Hi all, I am soon to sign my contract with the Barcelo -- I just wanted any advice from anyone on things they negotiated before signing the contract. For example, someone mentioned the external photographer, so I will call and discuss that tonight before signing. but now I am all stressed that there are other things I should consider before signing... What did people talk about before signing? Did they have things written in about receptions/welcome dinners/set up etc. Right now, my contract only discusses the room blocks... Thanks for any advice!

There have been some threads about this, but they all seem to focus on the coordinators from the resort. What I'm wondering, is if anyone has used a Wedding Planner in the area, in addition or apart from the resort coordinator. Reasons I ask: I've read people on the Cabo forum talking about an outside wedding planner, and how she was able to get lots of things, like fire dancers, mariachis, for much cheaper than the resort. Also, I want to have a private reception and such with decorations and everything, and would like someone to take care of that, not sure if the resort coordinator can be trusted. Anyone else doing this? Anyone have any recommendations for anyone in the area? Thanks.

Definitely fight, but, I think from what I've heard that that is common at most resorts, so I would not change just because of that... So far, only the Grand Palladium that I know of allows outside photographers... Actually, I dont' really know much about it, but I know that all of the resorts I was considsering, except for the Grand Palladium, had the no outside vendors rule...

I really want to try this too, just buy the photographer a guest day pass... I know that the Barcelo has a strict policy, but it's just so ridiculous, I can't believe it, especially when I will already be getting them so much business... Kind of makes me wish I'd picked the Grand Palladium or the Gran Bahia...

I finally got my STD Magnets, and I am really disappointed. I ordered from matchboxesetc.com because I couldnt' get Vistaprint to work, and they arrived today with the wrong website address! PRoblem is, I sent them the design with the right address, but when they sent me the proof back to check, I okayed it, without noticing the wrong web address. So now, my question, Do I shell out to order a whole new set? Or do I just send them as is (as a pretty reminder), with an insert with the correct address? I'm bummed!

Yes, I love it too, and keep the pic in colour. I know what you mean as well, I have spent MONTHS on my stupid STDs! I tried and tried and tried to upload it into vistaprint, was on the phone with them for ages, couldn't get it to work. And finally, I found this random guy in Israel to do it. I ordered them last week, so I haven't received them yet, I hope it works out!

That's a really good point -- we need to shop now for next February too, for all the summer clothes... will have to start doing that.

We're getting married at the Barcelo (where MexicoMelissa got married), and so we do have the hotel coordinator, but I was hoping to get an external wedding coordinator as well to organize the fire dancers, and also decorations and such for the reception (otherwise I hear it's very plain). It sounds like most of you are referring to your hotel coordinators, do any of you use external ones as well? And any recommendations?

But barring being able to think of something really meaningful like that, I love the ideas of engraving each others' rings or the plasma or the digital camera... hmmm. Will have to think more now!

These are gorgeous, I hadn't even thought about flowers on the cake, but I love how your cake looks! Did you have to bring your own candles and such to go around the cake decoration, or could you order it through your resort?
