So, I'm late to this thread but I have a question for the married ladies too... What was the ceremony like? I feel like we all talk about the party the most... Was it really short and rushed? Did you all have them in Spanish and translate? Did you get any time to personalize it with the officiant? Could you do your own vows, or anything special? thank you!

The resource I was referring to was the websites she mentioned (palladium addicts), I just posted the links under the Grand Palladium info on the accomodations in Riveria Maya. The doc is also good, if you PM me I can email it to you. Otherwise, I'll try to figure out how to donate some points to you, Ann donated a bunch to me which has been SOO helpful, so I will try to pass on the good will.

I agree, just from this forum I can see that Tammy has TONNES of clients, and yet, every day, she responds to my worries and requests, even on the weekend! Thank you Tammy!!! I am thinking of Grand Palladium, Gran Bahia, or Riu Palace, it will come down to how expensive it is for guests... Any thoughts you guys have, would love to hear!

I need advice on whom to invite
MagsieMexico replied to Nrvsbride's topic in Wedding Etiquette, Traditions, to dos
Ugh, I totally agree, it's so wonderful to have all you girls going through the same stuff! My parents are totally fine, but my FI's parents are guilting us "oh, you can't invite so and so or so and so because it's fishing for a gift, and they can't go cos it's so expensive..." blah blah blah. Which is doubly ridiculous since we live in London, not Michigan anyway, so no matter where we did it (unless we did it in Michigan even though nobody I know lives there, and we don't live there!!!) everyone would be travelling anyway. But, so, this is good advice. I think I will just send out STDs to everyone. Let them decide what they are doing. And I will put 'no gifts' on our wedding site, everyone's spending enough to get to our wedding anyway, and those that don't want to come, won't feel like we're fishing. Also, if they're guilting you now about your decision, they'll probably guilt you if you don't send an invitation, so you can't win, so just send them! It's so hard, I'm so glad we're all going through this, AND, I'm so glad we have all the shared wonderful photos to remember why we're doing this, and to remember that we're the smart ones making the best choice!!!! -
Shannon, what have you got on the Grand Palladium so far, I'm looking for info. I see the packages that someone posted, any pictures? Thanks!

We have a big guest list for a DW!!
MagsieMexico replied to salsa_bride's topic in Destination Wedding in Cabo
I know, I'm really struggling with this as well... Everyone has their opinions, people are worried about how expensive it is, I am so worried people will get there and complain that it wasn't worth the money. But yes, we must all remember, that we're doing this because it's our dream, and it will be gorgeous!!!! And for me as well, no matter where I did it in the world, at least 2/3 of my guests would have to travel anyway... So, I say, we all stick to our guns, and have the most beautiful weddings in the whole world, and forget everyone else!!! -
Oh Congratulations congratulations! I can't wait to get to that point, the location seems so hard to choose!! Now you can focus on all the fun stuff, favours, hairstyles, dresses, good work!

Hmmm, how much is a guest pass typically? This might be a good idea. I am getting really upset that lots of my guests won't be able to come, but then when I start looking at the cheaper resorts, I'm not so excited anymore... This could be the answer. Tammy's point is a good one, but maybe if there are lots of organized events it could work. So, then we would just pay for everyone to gather for the wedding, for their day passes, and maybe have a rehearsal dinner offsite?

Does anyone have more info about Catalonia? I know that MexiBride08 is getting married at Catalonia Playa Maroma, is that the same as Catalonia Riviera Maya? I can't even find a good website for this one. Any info? Thanks!

From my humble research, it seems to me that this is how the hotels compare in price for guests. I've seen a lot of us talk about wanting the price for guests to be reasonable so I did some searches. The sample prices are for a week in October, just hotel, but really, I did this to compare the hotels and see which are more/less expensive as a benchmarker. I'm sure once you've picked a hotel, you can negotiate a specific rate. Personal Wedding Website
MagsieMexico replied to TammyWright's topic in General Wedding Planning Information
Oh, I just found it on Ann's one sheeter! Ann, I love your one sheeters, so easy for seeing it all in one place! My fiance says to give you a kiss from him because he can't handle all the different information sources, and so he'll only look at you're one sheeters! So, here you go (hug, not a kiss thank you very much): -

Dreams Tulum
MagsieMexico replied to TammyWright's topic in Riviera Maya and Cancun Accommodations & Site
I read some terrible reviews about Dreams Tulum... I love the idea of being able to see the ruins and history right from the beach, but am afraid if it is really smelly like TripAdvisor says. Anyone been there? -

One question, they will set up a floor on the sand right? You're not dancing on the sand? I would like a terrace right on the sand I think, so you can stop dancing and walk there. But I hate shoes, so no shoes or only flip flops the whole night for me!

I voted for number 1, I love the plain with the diamond look. But, I am in a bit of a bind with mine. My fiance totally surprised me when we got engaged last march (nearly a year already, and I'm only just starting to plan the wedding!), and I did NOT like the ring. Problem was, I felt bad, I love him, and he picked the ring, and it was from his mother's jewellry store, and she convinced him that any girl would love it, even though he said "are you sure?? I think Margaret would prefer much plainer style" (yes! I wanted just a solitaire, or just like Ann's, two on each side, but instead, I have a main diamond, two on each side (like Ann's), and then the little princess ones all the way around the rest!!!). So, I've been wearing this engagement ring for 9 months, and convincing myself that I like it. Problem is, that now, his mother has bought him the matching wedding band, which has more diamonds all the way around. It's ridiculous! My whole finger is just diamonds, and all I wanted was a solitaire!!! What do I do now??
