  1. That sounds gorgeous. can you post some of the pics you've seen of the weddings?
  2. Has anyone found a map that has the Grand Palladium Resort and Spa on it?
  3. Argh, this isn't working. My whole message just got deleted, and the picture is too big to upload! Here's what I wrote. SO, for those of you considering of the Grand Palladium, (like I am!), there is only one option for a private reception, it is in an outdoor restaurant overlooking the pool. If you want the pic, PM me! It looks nice.
  4. Anny, your pictures are fantastic, absolutely gorgeous! Thank you for all the help! Jen, I am also planning a february wedding, so I hope hope hope that the weather is okay. Thanks for all the info Anny.
  5. Yeah, Emily, I"ve been doing nothing but debating the location for over a month! BUt i am the most indecisive person... I hope it will be better for you! Do you know what time of year you're looking at?
  6. Ha ha, we should. Em, here's an example of a site to search for charter flights, but there are tonnes of them! Charter Flight Centre Home page [charterflights.co.uk]
  7. Very interesting. SO have you been here? Have you booked your wedding here? DO you know much about the options for the receptions and such? My dream is to have a beach wedding with an arch or chuppah, then an outdoor cocktail hour/private reception on a terrace or garden overlooking the beach. Do you know how receptive the coordinator is? Are they okay with moving the parts of the packages around? THanks!
  8. Valerie, you look wonderful, thanks for sharing. That's great to know, that you just had the dinner, I was planning on a private reception, but maybe I don't need to worry about that... Hmmm, more to think about. Yyou look so happy, and that is all that matters!
  9. Leigh, those are great photos, and Ann! You are stunning and fabulous, and look so happy.
  10. Well, we wouldn't be leaving you would we? What exactly does the yahoo group do? Isn't it just an email thing? I definitely won't be leaving this place, I love it! And you are all fantastically helpful.
  11. Seriously Jessalyn, I've said it before, and I"ll say it again, you look fantastic in that dress, although, to be honest, you all look brilliant!
  12. Yup, I promise I picked before reading the responses and I chose number 2 as well, gorgeous gorgeous!! If I had to pick a second I'd go for 5. But I love 2 the best... this is david's bridal? I'm going ot have to go and try it.
  13. Weez, I had no idea that you were from the UK originally! Em, I also am from the UK, London, and LondonSam is on here too, so we have a little contingent now!! I actually am planning to book my hotel separately, so am not worrying about the tour operators too much, you can but charter flight seats direct to cancun (google charter flights), and then just stay wherever you want... Anyway, am very glad to have a fellow brit, and welcome!
  14. Hi Em, I'm based in London too! it's so hard planning and picking a place from afar without being able to visit... I've been trying to pick a place for months now, my fiance is about to go crazy with me! That said, I did a lot of research on the Moon Palace, and it sounds really beautiful. I decided against it myself because of the location mostly, and because of how large it is, but I have seen beautiful pictures of ceremonies there, and heard great things, so I don't think you could go wrong there. But, if you feel like it's not right for you, there are so many different resorts in that area, and a lot of them also get fantastic reviews, so you could look a little bit longer and decide on one that you are comfortable with... Although, maybe you shouldn't listen to me because I still haven't picked one!!
  15. This is great, I haven't heard much about this hotel yet... Great, another one to investigate in my list, my FI will kill me! Thanks for the info though! Does it allow children?
  16. I would be, I'm not quite sure how that works... but i would definitely be in!
  17. Seriously, in England with 1 and 2 pound coins too... We should definitely start doing this, great idea ladies!
  18. Yeah, I guess it's a common theme across all these hotels, trouble hearing back from the wedding coordinator!! Good luck, I hope she gets back to you soon.
  19. Well Edyta, even if you do die, at least you'll die looking amazingly hot in those stunning heels!!!
  20. This is the funniest thread! I love the comparisons, the models all look terrible next to you guys, seriously! It must be that they don't really care... where as you all look excited. And Edyta, the same? No way, you look a million times better than the model. And Melissa, I'm so glad you chose that dress, it is absolutely gorgeous! Okay, now, maybe if I pick a place, I can move onto the dress...
  21. Hi Riviera Maya ladies, For those of you further along in the planning stage, do you know if the salsa dancers and firedancers that I have read about on this site, are available at all the hotels, or is it a function of which hotel you are at? Does anyone have a good wedding coordinator for the area that can organize all that stuff? Thanks!
  22. Here's a link to a resort map, helps to understand the layout of the four hotels Iberostar Playa Paraiso - Thanks Gordon pictures from mexico photos on webshots So, it looks like there are each in one long vertical line going from the beach inland, and all next to each other. So really, i think staying in the Maya or the Lindo would be almost the same, looks like the pools and such are shared...
  23. Yes, it certainly is a big resort, though that can be fun too, for everyone having their space. And yes, Maya and Lindo are more expensive and can use all four, while Del Mar and Beach are cheaper and cannot use Maya and Lindo. Also, they have a brand new one opening this month to go with the other four. Haven't heard much about that yet, but I think it is called the Grand.
  24. There isn't a thread about these ones yet, so adding here, people can hopefully add information and thoughts, info about past visits and such here. So, from my research, there are 4 Iberostars all together in Playa Paraiso, which is nearer to Cancun, and then 2 further ones in Playa del Carmen. See this link for the names and virtual tours: http://www.iberostar.com/EN/virtual-visit.html According to this comparison site: Paraiso Maya is the nicest, then Lindo, then del mar and beach. Riviera Maya weddings - Wedding planners and wedding coordinators organize beach ceremonies and packages in Riviera Maya The wedding pictures from all look nice, but it's hard to know because I think they mix the pictures up between the resorts. Here's the homepage, wedding link: Iberostar - Hotels and Resorts Anyone have comments or info on these? THanks.
