Christine I want to make sure I'm pronouncing the babies name correctly. Is it pronounced "Aynslee" or "Eyenslee"? I don't even know if that makes sense.

Christa the house is looking great! Please remember to reserve a cute room for me. You can decorate however you like (I trust your taste) just make sure you have lots of yummy snacks for me when I come over. Did I mention that I plan on organizing the keg stand for you, Jamy & Drea?

Nrvsbride replied to amyh's topic in Blog Archive
Amy I could totally picture your invites especially with that font and the chocolate brown and green colors. I think its going to look great but I don't envy you. LOl. It looks hard! But I know you can do it! -
All I keep thinking is a little chicken mcnugget. Can you tell I like to eat a lot? My friend Amanda and I used to always call babies "muffins". Hmmm I really do eat a lot. LOL.

Paula and Jeremy's Dreams Wedding pictures
Nrvsbride replied to PaulaV's topic in Destination Wedding Reviews
Paula your pics are stunning! Suffice it to say that you look stunning! I love the colors, the BM dresses, and the chubby baby. LOL. Everything looked amazing. I am so happy that you had a wonderful time! -
Here are my blunt feelings on the matter. While I feel sorry for this girl: 1. She's an absolute idiot for leaving her $25,000 ring in the safe. 2. Even if she has insurance, good luck proving that it was stolen. 3. She could sue all she wants, the hotel is not responsible. You leave those items at your own peril. 4. Thank goodness I speak Spanish. If that happened to me I would have calmly (read: screaming at the top of my lungs) told the personnel at that hotel that my crazy Irish husband was going to put everyone in their crappy hospitals from the beating he was going to inflict if someone didn't return the ring soon. 5. This chick is dumb to go on and on about her rights being violated. We are talking about a poor country. They don't give a shit about your rights. They are starving to death. No one cares or is going to feel bad for you. She obviously has some wealth. She should have used street smarts and bribed someone to tell her who had the ring. Or I would have bribed the police. Trust me in those countries everyone can be bought! All she had to do was offer $500 and someone would have found her ring. *TRISHA PLEASE DO NOT TAKE YOUR BEAUTIFUL RING WITH YOU! ITS NOT WORTH IT GETTING STOLEN OR LOST.*

First Dress Fitting (w/pics)
Nrvsbride replied to foxytv's topic in Destination Wedding Dresses, Wedding Attire & rings
Tami you look beautiful in that dress and you don't even have your hair or make up done! Imagine how fabulous you are going to look when the whole thing is put together. It looks just perfect on you. What a pretty dress! It looks very flattering on you. Tom is going to love it. -
Yeah Christine who is your sorority sister that is on the show? I totally caught that it was Sandals, I was so excited for the Sandals girls! It looks awesome!

Love the winners. Btw for those of you that smoke crack and voted for me for funniest member, its clear that you have never read one of Maria (Mikkistreak's) literary satircial pieces, one of Jamy's hysterical comments or pretty much everything that comes out of Melissa (MelissaH) and Jason's mouth! Tammy what time is good for you? I plan to be over for dinner tonight. LOL.

I loved the episode it was so cute. Morgan you are not the only loser who wants Hef & Holly to get married. I love them! And I love this show, I watch it religiously and own the DVD's. Yes I am that big of a loser! LOL.

There should be a superlative titled "Most likely to make me pee my pants" and frankly I think Jason should get it. LOL.

Can't find the darned huppah picture...help!
Nrvsbride replied to Amy&Andy's topic in Wedding Flowers, decoration, cake, etc.
Amy I wish I could help you but I don't know what your referring to. I don't think I've ever seen one. I think the one I'm thinking of is the capiz shells that Amy posted. Okay I'm off to do a search for you. -
Danielle it makes sense to wait until after the wedding. You deserve to enjoy this time in your life without any added stress. I found this for you: ------------------------------------------------------------------------- Genetics of NF1 and NF2 NF1 and NF2 are called autosomal dominant genetic disorders. Half of all cases are inherited from a parent who has NF1 or NF2; half of all cases are not inherited but the result of a new or spontaneous mutation (change) in the sperm or egg cell. Each child of a parent with NF1 or NF2 has a 50% chance of inheriting the gene and developing NF1 or NF2. The type of NF inherited by the child is always the same as that of the affected parent (i.e. if the parent has NF1, each child is at 50% risk for NF1. If the parent has NF2, each child has a 50% chance to inherit NF2). However, the severity and the kind of manifestations may differ from person to person within a family. When a parent has NF1 or NF2, there is a 50% chance with each pregnancy for the child to receive the NF1 or NF2 gene, and a 50% chance for the child to receive two unaffected genes and to be free of NF1 or NF2. The child with NF1 or NF2, as a result of a new mutation, does have the 50-50 chance of passing the NF1 or NF2 gene on to his or her children. Unaffected parents who have a child born with NF1 or NF2 because of a spontaneous mutation do not have a 50-50 risk in future pregnancies. Their chance for another child with NF1 is about the same as that of any couple in the general population, that is, one chance in 7,000. One additional birth in every 7,000 results in a child who has inherited NF1 from a parent with the disorder. Thus, a total of 2 children in 7,000 or 1 in 3,500 are born with NF1.

Nrvsbride replied to cessyboston's topic in Honeymoon Forum
Erica congrats! It must be so exciting when you finally book your wedding flight. And first class...not too shabby either! LOL. I was thinking maybe you and Donnie want to pack me in your suitcase so I can come as well. -
Danielle I am so sorry to hear this news. I am actually very familiar with this diesease (I used to work for a neurologist). Let's hope that your mother will be fine and that she won't have the extremely debilitating form. When do you plan to get tested for it? Don't worry I'm sure everything will be allright. I will keep both your mom and you in my prayers.

Btw Ann you have every right to only care about certain issues. There is nothing wrong with that. You are entitled to formulate your opinions and decisions on whatever criteria you so desire. I think personally Christine and I wish more people would look at the issues as a whole but I don't think there is anything wrong with you making a decision on the issues that you feel are important to you.

There will be people who will always say ‘we are not ready’. This line of thinking somehow implies that race or gender are a determining factor in regards to what is ‘good enough’ or right. It is shocking to hear that statement coming from women, particularly since we as woman have been denied basic human rights and persecuted for having belief systems that ‘men were not ready for’. Would the conservatives still say ‘we are not ready’ if the black candidate was Colin Powell? Have you ever considered that historically white males had have easier access to education and the elite clubs that have garnered candidates ‘presidentially ready’ in our country? When is the time ever right for change? What are we waiting for? As I said I am not attacking anyone personally, just jumping in the discussion / debate and putting my 2 cents in. and i was clearly just on a soapbox so i will step off it Preach on girl! My sentiments exactly! I don't understand when people say we are not ready for a women or black president. Do you think America was ready to free the slaves when they did? I don't think so. Do you think men were ready to allow women to vote when they did? Nope. It is up to us as a society to englighten people and demonstrate that change starts now and today. Too bad if their not ready for it. Sometimes change just has to happen, like it or not! ~Is the soap box packed? I feel like there are 3 of us jammed on here. LOL.

I had a huge conversation last night with my FI (who is also a government teacher like Christine) and I mentioned my post last night. I admit I felt a little guilty posting b/c I realized that it may have seemed that I was attacking Obama or criticizing some of your decisions to vote for him (which I genuinly hope you know was not my intention at all). The truth is there is stuff we could write about all the candidates. Like Jamy said everyone has a past and a present. To be honest people's past don't bother me that much b/c how many of us have done stuff in the past that we would never do now? It's how you spin your past to the American people that I have a problem with. Clinton & McCain's past are pretty much all out there in the media for you to read about. Obama's past is a little more well guarded, particularly b/c he is so well liked by the media. I mentioned to my FI that I wished people would vote on the issues and not idealistic issues and he made a good point. He said to me "What's wrong with believing in hope and peace? Yes maybe Obama won't be able to change a lot of what is wrong with the world but America and especially a lot of young people need that idealistic spirit." He made another good point in mentioning that when JFK and Robert Kennedy spoke, they brought tears to people's eyes. They too touted change and hopes for a better America. A lot of people need and want that, and there is nothing wrong with that. Perhaps, like Jamy I have become jaded and I don't believe that these candidates can change things. But like Christine I would like to believe that one day a candidate will be able to do some good for this country and that is why I plan to vote in the upcoming election and make a decision based on the issues as best I can.

Ok I am going to put my two cents in (more like a quarter). LOL. I am not trying to offend anyone I am just trying to have an honest and real discussion about something that I consider to be an important topic. I like Obama. He is well educated and very likeable. Like many said he gives speeches that move people. If you want to vote for Obama because you agree with his stance on issues then I think that is awesome. But I have to be honest, it scares me a little bit to think that so many people want to vote for him merely b/c he promotes "change". 1. He did not grow up in the ghetto somewhere. He was raised by his maternal grandparents (who happen to be white) and he spent most of his life in Hawaii in a nice area. He went to Columbia University and then attended Harvard University. So the rags to riches story he is always trying to promote bothers me. 2. He denounces lobbyists but the head of his campaign is a huge pharmaceutical company lobbyist. Umm hypocricy? 3. His wife sits on a board for a food company that supplies Wal-mart and other non-unioned companies. How can he and his wife (who has given many speeches on his behalf) criticize Hilary for taking corporate jobs after law school when they cater to corporate America? 4. His wife is also the VP of the University of Chicago Medical Center, which has a policy of urging poor people to seek private healthcare so they won't drain the public resources and will make more money for the private doctors. 5. He loves touting change. Great, I want change too. But how is he going to do that? He hasn't been able to explain how he plans to implement this change. 6. He always talks about how he was against the Iraq war from the beginning. Well sure that's easy for him to say b/c he wasn't there for that vote. I'm not saying the war is right or wrong, all I'm saying is that people made the best decision they could with the information they were given AT THE TIME. And its really hard to look your constituents in the face and say "Oh your husband died in 9/11? Sorry but we're going to do nothing about it right now." Hilary may have supported the war but honestly she is the Senator from NY. What was she supposed to do? Every individual in NY wanted to go to war with their own hands after 9/11 happened. People felt differently at the time. Hindsight is 20/20. 7. Its known in politics that the under 30 vote is easy to persuade by glorifying "idealistic" ideas that sound great but will never be implemented. Most young people can't even point Iraq out on the map. They are known for voting with their heart and not based on informed decisions, if they even bother to vote at all. Do you really believe that if he's president all those old fat, white men in Congress & the Senate are going to let him do what he wants? They will veto every bill he proposes if they don't agree with him. 8. Its easy to say your going to change things when you don't have that much experience as to how things work. Politics is so complicated. Its not as easy as saying "yay/nay" when the vote comes around. It involves complex issues that aren't as simple as saying "Okay I'll just pull all the troops out in Iraq." Most people don't want war, but most people don't understand politics well enough to know that if they just withdraw troops immediately, the more powerful countries such as Iran & Syria will pounce on Iraq and cause severe instability in the middle east. Okay I too am going to step off my box now. I am not trying to push any candidate on anyone, I just want those of you voting for Obama to do so b/c you are making an informed, educated decision and not b/c it feels like he is speaking directly to you.
