Most Amazing Wedding EVER at Cabo Surf!
Nrvsbride replied to ncainey's topic in Destination Wedding Reviews
Your wedding sounds great! Its awesome that you had the whole place for just your wedding guests. I'm sorry the cake and food didn't turn out the way you envisioned but hey at least it tasted good right? It could have been worse if they both tasted yucky. I can't wait to see pics, especially of your gorgeous bouquet. -
This thread is so cute with all the baby bumps and nurseries. Angela I'm sorry you had a bad day but I'm glad that you and the little munchkin are okay. Anny, Ann & Chrstine you girls look amazing. Anny we will be thinking about you on sunday. I hope everything goes smoothly and that you don't feel pain!

Some of the dresses I had to try on to get them to zip were 20 and 22! I honestly think was why I waited to long to buy a dress! I was terrified of the number! I ended up ordering a 16 but the last time I went to the store to try on the sample the 14 zipped! I'm sure I'll have to drop another grand on alterations! I think I've blow my budget on this dress! Yeah I was a 12-14 in street clothes at the time I ordered the dress. They ended up ordering an 18 for me. It just made me really depressed. That's awesome that the 14 zipped I would have been deliriously happy! Quote: Originally Posted by amyh Honestly Glenda, I stop looking at labels. They just depres me. Since sample dresses are ordered "big" if fit into most, lol. The dress I bought was a 12, I'm a street size 8. Normally I don't care about sizes. I'm fat so I'm used to not being a small size. I think it upest me more b/c for whatever reason the bride (NEMESIS) wants all of us to do the first fitting together. Most of the BM's are zero's or two's and I know my dress will look ginormous next to theirs'. I want to at least be smaller than the size they ordered for me. Uggh I am not looking forward to this at all! -

Dress Sizing for BM dresses
Nrvsbride replied to Nrvsbride's topic in Destination Wedding Dresses, Wedding Attire & rings
Well I already ordered it. I'm fine with ordering the size they told me b/c I would rather be safe than sorry. I was just curious as to how small they normally run. I just want to prepare myself for the nightmare that will occur when June comes along. Trust me that dress is my motivation to hit the gym everyday! -
Dress Sizing for BM dresses

Alyssa the dress cost me $300 w/tax and the additional charge for the plus size or whatever the heck it was. I swear to you I don't care if they told me the alterations are going to cost me $768 I would be ecstatic if it meant I wasn't the size the dress is. Uggh why do they do this? I know its just a stupid number but isn't this supposed to be the happiest time of your life? So why would they make brides feel terrible about themselves. -
Juan the pictures are amazing just like all your other work! Congrats Kassia! It looks like your wedding turned out perfectly! I'm so happy for you. And Juan I love the slideshow it looks absolutely amazing!

That would be super embarassing! I think I would die. -

I think one of the other BM's is a 2 or 4 also in street clothes but she also got fitted for an 8. So I guess 2 to 3 dress sizes is probably the average. Uggh I don't even know why I care. LOL. I'm just terrified its going to look huge on the hanger and all the other BM's will stare at me. Needless to say I'm having nightmares about this. -
My Ebay Dress Came Today - Pic Heavy

That dress looks great on you! I really like it! Also, HAPPY BIRTHDAY! I hope you have an amazing birthday and many more! -
Ok I know all BM dresses and wedding dresses run differently but I'm wondering if anyone can give me some insight as to what the "usual" sizing is like. What I mean is if your a size 2 in street clothes let's say, what size would you be in a BM dress or gown? I'm a BM in a Sept wedding and when I went to get measurements taken and order the dress they ordered it 3 sizes bigger than what my street clothes size is. Aside from running small, does anyone know if they usually order it a little bigger in case you gain weight or get pregnant? Basically I'm asking b/c the dress size devestated me and I'm trying to lose weight by the time I pick it up in June so I'm trying to figure out what size I would be. I know, I know I sound completely nuts but please just bear with me and entertain my fat girl dreams. Btw it was a Jim Hjelm.

Can we have an update on the biggest loser club?
Nrvsbride replied to Christine's topic in Beauty, Exercise, Diet
We can do a Mommy edition for all the moms with their newborns. That would be fun. Although you guys would drop weight like crazy b/c of breastfeeding and all that. -
Reasons I regret asking my sister to be my MOH (LONG vent)
Nrvsbride replied to Maura's topic in Just venting or funnies
Maura no offense but based on the IM convo it seems like your sister is passive-agressive. That drives me insane! I would rather someone just be an outright bitch and say "Maura I'm not going to your showers or your wedding, b/c it costs too much" At least then you know where someone stands. I'm sorry your going through all this trouble. You know that if you need help with anything I would be more than happy to help you. I can make phone calls, stuff envelopes, whatever you need. I'm not so crafty but I'm pretty darn organized. So let me know if you want me to help you. I think your plan is a good one. I admit that I wouldn't be able to demote my sister no matter how mean she was to me, but I think by not telling her you will avoid a huge headache from your family. Hopefully she'll be able to make it and then you won't have to worry about all this. -
Yeah I guess its not fair if there are Season 1 girls who are done losing all their weight and don't want to participate in season 2. Nevermind then, let the winner do with her earnings whatever she likes! I think Sarah has the right idea she should buy herself a new fabulous pair of jeans to celebrate her weight loss. LOL.
-
Yup and hopefully that will motivate people! I think motivation is the key to weight loss. Well that and discipline. LOL. Speaking of which I really think that one of the best ways to stay on track is to avoid temptations. I cleared out everything in my kitchen that was not good for me so that even if I ever craved anything I wouldn't be able to eat it. I also force myself to go to the gym as soon as I get home from work. Almost like it is a chore that I have to do. This way I can't slack no matter what. As soon as I get home I force myself to change into gym clothes and get my butt to the gym. I have not gone out (to a bar or party) since we started this. I know its inevitable to avoid going to celebrations but I have turned down invites to just go out to a bar. It really has kept me on track. Let's just be honest with ourselves, if you go out to a bar or to Friday's or Chili's or someplace like that, you are more likely to binge and then the next day you will wake up hungover and have to eat something unhealthy like bread to make you feel better. And the next day you won't want to go to the gym. The minute you slip once its so easy to continue slipping. I really think having things planned out is what helps. You have to plan ahead what your going to eat and stick to it, or else you are more likely to run to Wendy's and order your favorite value meal.

Ok Ann while I trust your intelligence I think your math is off. There is no way that I can be in the lead! I wish that were the case but the rolls on my stomach tell me otherwise. Okay so I was talking to Jill about this and I don't know what the winner plans to do with the money but I thought it might be cool to put the winnings back in the pot for Season 2 and we can all pay in another $10. This way the winnings for the next round would be even bigger, especially since there are a lot of other members who have shown interest in participating. I think the money will motivate people. Personally the money doesn't motivate me but the support. But I figure anyway we can get people motivated would be great. What do you guys think? Oh yeah and Ann would you be willing to be the host for next seaon also?

It felt good to step on the scale and see it in the 130's! Amy that is phenomenal! I knew you could do it! I am so proud of you. You are going to look amazing at your wedding. Isn't it so nice to be in the 130's? Ahh I am going to live vicariously through you. I can't remember the last time I was in the 130's. LOL.
