Asian wedding makeup inspiration?
Nrvsbride replied to mpark46's topic in Destination Wedding Dresses, Wedding Attire & rings
What about something like this? Like soft rosey cheeks, light gloss and darker eyes. I think the focus should be on opening up your eyes to really showcase the beautiful almond eyes. Also you can take a look at Tammy (the host)'s pics, she is Asian and her make-up looked beautiful on her. -
Are you and your fiance waiting to consumate...
Nrvsbride replied to FYB87's topic in Chit Chat Corner!
I think that is so nice. And I find it so annoying when people roll their eyes or say rude comments. First of all mind your business. Secondly, this is a personal decision and nobody should be telling anybody what's best for them. I commend all you girls that are waiting, I think it will make it really special for you guys. -
Bangs pulled back
Nrvsbride replied to LeXiee's topic in Destination Wedding Dresses, Wedding Attire & rings
I don't have bangs but I know exactly what your talking about. You can use bobby pins once its teased a little bit or you can use a pin or clip that matches your hair color to hold it together. I think the pulled back bangs will look good.f -

Good for you! Do you have any good workouts you want to share? I need some good ones so I can change up my routine.

Happy Birthday Carrie! I hope you are having an amazing, relaxing birthday and that you get to go eat somewhere yummy for your b-day. Do you have any plans for tonight?

Stephanie the candy buffet looks really yummy! I love the huge lollypops!

Well I'm glad the crackers and apple helped. Hopefully after getting lots of rest your body will be rid of whatever is making you feel sick.

Aww Melissa I am so sorry you got food poisoning. That is awful. I think you should stay away from Ruby Tuesday's it seems to bring you nothing but problems. Maybe try eating something small and work your way up to see how your stomach will feel. I really hope you feel better soon.

Biggest loser walking schedule inspiration
Nrvsbride replied to Sandra E.'s topic in Beauty, Exercise, Diet
Thank you so much for sharing. I have to admit I'm dense and I don't really understand it. Do some of the numbers correspond to length in time or to miles? Hmmm I'm going to read through it again. I would love to do this. -
Jill that is awesome! And Sarah don't feel bad it was your bachelorette party weekend and you had to splurge and have fun. ~MINI VENT: Okay my worst nightmare came true. I am plateauing. I cannot for the life of me lose an ounce! I started incorporating weight training so I don't know if that has anything to do with it but all of a sudden I am much hungrier and have less motivation to do anything. The fact that my weight is not budging is making the little devil on my shoulder keep nagging me to go eat a cheeseburger to feel better. Ughhhh!! Summer is almost here! Okay now that my rant is done I wanted to tell you guys about a plan I came up with. I don't know if its going to work but I'm going to try my best. I have a barbecue this weekend and 2 more coming up in the weeks to follow. These things can be very dangerous. So I came up with a plan with FI to try to stay healthy. I am going to bring my own cooler. FI bartends at night and he is going to make me a huge cooler of Crystal Light (5 calories) with vodka. I don't like strong drinks to begin with, so he really won't put a lot of vodka in it. This way I can drink but at least I won't drink binge on beer or other fatty liquor drinks. I absolutely love cheeseburgers and I know I won't be able to resist. So FI is going to bring me whole wheat hamburger buns, fat free american cheese (30 calories per slice) and a healthier version hamburger patty. FI promised to cook it for me so that this way I can enjoy the barbecue as well but not eat something ridiculously fattening. I am also going to bring my 10 calorie jello snack packs in case I want a snack. This is my plan for a healthier barbecue. I don't know if its going to work but I'm going to try my best, and I figured I would share in case anyone else wanted to try it instead. Some other options we came up with: Drinking liquor with zero calorie, zero carb soda like Sprite or coke. Bringing fresh strawberries to blend in the blender and adding tequila to make natural margaritas, instead of using the margarita mix that is chock full of added sugar and carbs.

Yay! Finally! *UPDATED*
Nrvsbride replied to starfish kate's topic in Share your Wedding & Engagement Stories!
OMG Kate I am so excited for you! This is awesome! The day has finally come. Now you can enjoy your wedding planning even more. -
Michelle I am so sorry for your loss. My condolences are with you and your family.

B/c you plan to wear it at your AHR and in order to continue a tradition what about something with gold? I may be mistaken but don't they wear gold in chinese tradition? Maybe a nice thing gold necklace with a gold pendant. Personally I would want something thin, but if the whole purpose of the tradition is to bring jewelery into the family then something small might defeat that purpose. I don't know if I'm making sense or not. Or how about a thin necklace with a small pearl?

Her dress is beautiful! Did you guys notice the estimated $500,000 price tag for the wedding? Yikes! Ahhh it looked so beautiful, I wish I was invited.

EDR Icing on cake
Nrvsbride replied to BandE2008's topic in Destination Wedding in Riviera Maya, Cancun & surrounding areas
I'm sorry that they are doing this to you, I would be super frustrated! And please vent away, that is what we are all here for. I'm so glad your guests and your TA have been so accomodating. It really sucks when your being screwed and people don't support you. I just don't get EDR, don't they realize how much business they are losing? I agree with Alyssa, I wouldn't even go on vacation there b/c of what they do to other people. -
Have so much fun Sarah! And we'll let you cheat on the diet since it is your party! I wanna see pics and hear stories when you come back!

Thank you so much to everybody for your input and advice. I don't know why this issue is eating away at me, I'm usually great with my money. I graduated law school with $25,000 in credit card debt and a $55,000 loan and I've already paid off my entire credit card debt and $5,000 off my student loan. I'm an excellent saver and I have great credit so I've never had these problems. I know this sounds so awful but I refuse to bail him out. He has to learn his lesson one way or another. He realizes he screwed up but the problem is that to him there are no consequences. What I mean by that is that if it takes him 40 years to pay the credit card he is okay with that. He thinks everyone has debt so what's the big deal. But he doesn't realize that he shouldn't be paying years worth of high interest that he could be putting towards a down payment of a house or retirement. We don't take any vacations. In fact I've been dating him for close to 8 years and we have never taken a vacation together. He on the other hand took a pricey vaca to Peru which is what put him under. I don't have a car so there is no issue as to that. We can't sell the car b/c he just finished his lease and decided to buy. So technically he doesn't own it to be able to sell it. We bring our own lunch and we don't go out. He works on the weekends anyway bartending. We really don't have luxury spending. I can't tell you the last thing I bought for myself and he doesn't buy anything either b/c his CC is maxed out. So really I am not exaggerating when I say that our entire paychecks are going to pay all this. Also all his loans are federal loans and not private. We actually don't have an issue with the loans, its moreso the credit card and the car payments that are eating away our lives. I just don't know what to do anymore. I'm going to force him to call the CC today when I get home. Hopefully they'll reduce the interest a little bit. Thank you again for your advice and Janet I like it when people are harsh with me! (Although in fairness you weren't being harsh, LOL)

Animal Abuse, this is horrible please sign the petition!!
Nrvsbride replied to Dez921714's topic in Just venting or funnies
I just threw up in my mouth. I really hope this is a hoax. I saw another thing on the news the other day where this artist artificially inseminates herself and then gets abortion at different stages of her pregnancy and calls it art. She actually drips the blood of the embryos onto a sheet and hangs it and calls it art. WTF is wrong with people? -
This is so weird I keep trying to post and it won't show up. Hmmm. Anyways here are some responses: 1. He already did forebearance once before. I don't want him to do this again b/c it just accumulates your interest so it would actually just end up hurting us in the long run. 2. He has already consolidated his student loans, they are actually not bad, we are locked in at a super low rate b/c we went to grad school right after 9/11. 3. We have tried to get him another credit card with a zero percent balance transfer or a lower percentage but to no avail. 4. All his other bills are things for the car so its not like we can avoid making payments on anything else. 5. He just bought the car so he can't sell it. His lease literally just ended last weekend and he decided to buy the car which was a huge mistake on his part. 6. He does have a second job, he is a bartender. The bars are not doing well b/c of the economy so things have been really tight lately.

Need Advice on Necklace
Nrvsbride replied to angitalia23's topic in Wedding Registry, Wedding Gift Bags, and OOT bags
Oooh Angela I really like the ones you ordered. They are super pretty. I like them so much more than the first ones you posted. I'm sure they are going to love them. -
Amy that's so cool! I wish I could see the pope. He is coming to NY but I sincerely doubt I'll get to see him. How's the planning coming along by the way? Are you and Mike getting excited for the big day?

Rachel I wanted to come to this thread when I had the time to give it the dedication it deserves. The pics are awesome, I love them! You look absolutely beautiful and I am not just saying that, I truly feel that way. You radiated happiness and that is what makes a bride the prettiest she can be. I can completely understand feeling insecure about your weight and wearing a bridal gown but I have to tell you that you picked one that flattered you beautifully. You look absolutely stunning and your hair was perfection! I heart the earrings btw, they are fabulous. I'm so glad you had a wonderful wedding and I love the commentaries on your pics. I have no doubt that your pro pics will be amazing and will capture the beauty that you radiated that day.

You know what if she's going to go through all the trouble of trying to sabatogage why don't you go through the trouble of being fake. Normally I think this is immature and I would never condone this kind of behavior but it seems like you are stuck with her. Why not see her at the wedding and be all buddy-buddy with her? She probably likes seeing you squirm so if you act all friendly with her it might drive her even more insane. And once she sees it doesn't bother you anymore it might deter her from always being all over him.
