  1. Anny is it fabulous to live in Mexico? I always wanted to live in a big mansion in Acapulco. And my sister and I always wanted to be soap opera stars. LOL. Sorry to get off topic. -Glenda
  2. Ann what color jewelery and shoes are you going to wear? I don't mean to sound obnoxious but I literally own every single bag in the world and I'm sure there is something in my bag collection that I could lend you. Tell me what you would like and even if I don't have something to match I will be on the lookout this weekend in Chinatown when I go pick up the pashminas. They have tons of cute purses that are so cheap, I will totally get you something. How big is the insulin that you carry? I will have to make sure I get something that can fit that. Oh yeah and I can carry your bag for you the day of your wedding since I'll be crashing it remember? -Glenda
  3. A lot of hotels and resorts do packages for just the two of you. I know my photog Juan Carlos has slideshows of weddings that he did for just the bride and groom and they are gorgeous. If I was getting married just the two of us I would have done it at the One & Only Palmilla or Las Ventanas. *Sigh* it sounds so romantic, I wish I were doing that. And Ann it's true the Four Seasons Maui is amazing you should def go there if you can for your honeymoon. -Glenda
  4. I chose Cabo for the following reasons: 1. I had always seen pics of Cabo and this was the one place I always wanted to go. I have been to Acapulco, RM, Cancun, Playa Del Carmen and I wanted something different. 2. A couple who got married in NY went to Cabo for their honeymoon and they ranted and rave about it. 3. Everytime I researched Cabo on the Internet I read about the year round perfect weather and I was sold. NY has atrocious weather, freezing cold all the damn time! 4. We have tons of friends who have gone to Cabo and they love it. 5. This is going to sound so cheesy (especially to the Cali girls) but my friends and I love Laguna Beach (the TV show) and they always go to Cabo for spring break and so we fell in love with Cabo and wanted to go. -Glenda
  5. Amy your using Dazzling Details as your WC? Anny I am doing a symbolic wedding in Mexico and getting legally as well religiously married in the church in NY. -Glenda
  6. Natasha you have been an absolute life saver! Thank you, you are so much help, I greatly appreciate it! -Glenda
  7. I know, I am just so bad at computer things and I don't know how to work my scanner! LOL. Okay that is going to be my project for the weekend, getting a pic up. Sorry I totally highjacked this thread! -Glenda
  8. I have to wear a suit everyday to work and I don't have a set schedule so I don't get traditional lunch breaks like everyone else. I am pretty much in court all day and if I even had the opportunity to go during the afternoon it would be such a PITA to put a suit back on. LOL. I can't go in the morning b/c as it is I leave my house at 7AM. So annoying but the gyms near me open at 7 and close at like 9 (which is when I typically get home). I could never fit a machine in my apt. And it would be way to loud. Oh well, I'm sure I can figure something out. Thanks for the advice though, I greatly appreciate it. -Glenda
  9. Awww that's really sweet. You guys look so great in the picture. What a stunning couple you are. -Glenda
  10. Thanks Natasha! Maybe I will go with both. Gosh I am going to go bankrupt with all this! Natasha you also got fireworks right? Do you mind my asking how much your entire wedding cost you? Excluding travel/accomodations and your bridal wear? I am planning to get a lot of the same things you had at your wedding so I wanted to get an idea for how much this could cost me. -Glenda
  11. Ann I hadn't even thought of this! Great one more thing to stress about. LOL. You should def bedazzle your insulin. It will look great. Just make sure you leave someone in charge of your bag during your ceremony so it doesn't get lost. -Glenda
  12. Ok I really want to join WW but I really don't have any time to go to these meetings. I know you can join online but I really don't feel like paying a monthly fee (these expenses are adding up like crazy). I think I am going to go to one meeting get the books and then never go back again. I know this is bad but most of my friends did this and they still stuck with it. I need to come up with an exercise plan b/c there are no 24 hour gyms near me and I work 14 hours a day and don't get home until 9. I can't even do exercise videos in my house b/c I live in an apartment and the people downstairs have a heart attack when I do them. And running outside is out b/c it is freezing in NY right now. Aahhhhhhhh! -Glenda

How does it work, does he ask you first and then you go ask your parents, or does he ask them first in front of you and then ask you? This sounds so cool. My FI asked my dad but only my dad and they went out to brunch together. Then he asked me like a week later. -Glenda:
  14. Oops yes I meant I will send the STD's out this March. LOL. Anny always gets me. My actual invitations I will send out much, much later. -Glenda
  15. I have the same problem. If I put all the people I am closest to I will have 12 bridesmaids. It seems like so much especially at a DW. I think ultimately you should have as many bridesmaids as you want. If you pick and choose a couple from each group someone is inevitably going to feel hurt and left out. If you want all 12 then do all 12. If not I would do just your sister and your FSIL. Good luck. -Glenda
  16. Sarah if worse comes to worse you could rent the linens from a party rental store in Cali and then take them with you to cabo and bring them back. I don't know how much this costs but it could get annoying for you to transport them back and forth. But if this is really what you want then I say go for it. -Glenda
  17. I don't mean to highjack your thread Amy but I have a sort of related question. Did anyone get married in church at home and then have their wedding in Mexico? I am meeting with my priest next week but I am scared about telling him about my wedding in Mexico. I feel like he will frown upon this and make my life a living nightmare all through precanor. -Glenda
  18. My wedding is July 4, 2008 and I am planning to send out my invites March 2007. I know this is ridiculously early but my FI and I have a lot of friends that are engaged and getting married and we are scared that someone will also do their wedding on that date. Also, we need to give our friends and family plenty of notice so that they can save up. I also thought of the tax returns and I think this way people will have two tax seasons to save up. I am sending magnets so hopefully people will just throw them on their fridge and not lose them. -Glenda
  19. A friend of mine sent out a mass e-mail with a link to her wedding website. When you went on the website there was a link to leave your name and address and then they would send you a formal invitation. This way they would only send invites to people that really showed an interest in going. -Glenda
  20. Awww your so sweet! We love everyone here. Wedding planning is stressful enough, there is no reason to be nasty to anyone! -Glenda
  21. I'm pretty sure the other salsabride is from Canada no? Hmm this is going to get confusing...Anyways Welcome to the board! Let us know how we can help! -Glenda
  22. I hired JC for 10 hours and am also getting the coffee table book made. My photography is def going to be the most expensive thing at my wedding but my FI and I literally have no pics together so this is very important to us. Also, my FI has never traveled and we have never taken a vacation so this will be memories for us to cherish forever. I love the coffee table book (thanks to Jonathan's suggestions I decided to get it) and I am so happy I am getting it. I know later on I would have been upset if I didn't get it. And I think 10 hours is a good amount of time so that I can make sure I get all the pics I want. -Glenda
