    Hola!

Welcome Maggie! It's nice to finally meet Lizzy's daughter. I'm sure your mom has been catching you up with all the wedding details that she has been planning for you. By the way, did you find a place yet? I know you were looking at Dreams Tulum but the room prices were so high. Any luck with anything else? Did you look into renting a villa? -Glenda
  2. I don't think this should be bad at all. You should get save the dates out right away though so that your guests can start saving. Normally it is a little better to give people as much time as possible to save but in reality, most people are procrastinators so it may not matter anyway. What I would do is check hotel rooms and see what the prices are like. Sometimes when you have more time to plan you can get better deals on rooms and airfare, but I think you still have some time so I say go for it. -Glenda
  3. I don't know how I am going to do it, but I'm going to try my best!! -Glenda
  4. Lenita I am late to this, but those are amazing! I can't wait to see you in them! I can't believe your friend designed them. So nice. -Glenda
  5. Well I don't want to discourage you from going to MAC. If you want to try it you def should. You never know they may have something you love. But I think Clinique or Estee Lauder has more reasonable makeup tips. It all depends on your style. I don't really wear makeup so I am not an expert on makeup I am just familiar with different styles. I only wear bronzer, mascara and lip gloss when I have special occasions. I don't do the whole black eyeliner and eyeshadow thing so I'm not the best judge of makeup. I use chanel and christian dior lip glosses and the benefits line tinted moisturizer and bronzer. I think you should try whatever you like and see which one works best for you. -Glenda
  6. Lenita I can't believe it, your wedding is almost here! When are you leaving for Mexico? Do you need any last minute help with anything? I can't wait for you to come back and post pics!!! -Glenda
  7. I love them they look gorgeous! And that is a great deal. You should resell them when your wedding is over. -Glenda
  8. I am just being honest if you are looking for a natural beachy look I would not go with MAC. Not that you can't obtain that look with their products b/c you can. They actually have great products and are good quality. (They are very expensive by the way, very expensive) However, their makeup is more like costume makeup. Picture 16 year old girls in dance recitals with blue eyeshadow, lots of foundation and blush, and lipstick. I think as long as you stress what you want they should be able to help you. They have beautiful pinks that go well with what you are trying to achieve, but I am warning you that they tend to go overboard and just do whatever they want anyway. If you don't wear a lot of makeup it might be too much for you. Not in a bad way, just that it can be overwhelming if your not used to a lot of makeup.
  9. I love tinted moisturizer. I use the Benefits line which I love and I wear their tinted moisturizer. Aveda is great!
  10. I know I am being stubborn about this but I refuse, refuse to have makeup caked on the day of my wedding. I know it looks good for pics and all but I need to feel like me. I got my makeup done at Shiseido when I went to my high school prom and I hated it. I mean the woman did a nice job it wasn't the makeup artist's fault, it's just that I had so much foundation and looked scary white. Eeew I hate foundation (no offense to people who wear foundation, just my personal preference). And Christine I agree MAC can look weird. When I go to MAC the salespeople always look like it's halloween, they have so much makeup caked on. It looks like they have 35 layers of blue eyeshadow on. It's just too much for my personal taste. But Melissa the makeup looks perfect on you. Very pretty! -Glenda
  11. Okay first of all to the all the newbies out there: Welcome! I hope all your wedding planning is going well and that you are getting great info from this site. Secondly to all the members who aren't new: I am having so much trouble keeping up with all the newbies. It seems like everytime I sign on there are like 15 new newbies. I remember how scared and nervous I was when I first signed up and it made me feel so much better when people welcomed me. I want to do the same for everyone but I'm finding it so hard to keep up with all the newbies, where they are getting married, and what their names are. I want to try and help everyone as much as possible but I can't keep up!! How does everyone else handle all this? I know some of you like Christine, Tammy M, Ann, etc. you guys are so good at welcoming every single newbie. I try but can hardly keep up. -Glenda
  12. Actually I don't know. I created a temporary one but I don't plan on finalizing it until later. I know with ewedding you can get a free one but if you want a lot of the cooler options you need to pay (I believe it's $90 a year). I would take a look at it or ask Edyta b/c she is an expert at this site (she also created her website with ewedding) and was able to help me with some of the features. -Glenda
  13. I am not familiar with Wedshare but I know Wedding Windows is great as is Wedding Announcer and eweddings. I plan to use eweddings just b/c it is really easy to use and I am not good with this stuff. Honestly they are all pretty great whichever one you choose you will end up being happy with. -Glenda
  14. Melissa I love that hairstyle! It looks so good! I think I want to do my hair similar to that as well. -Glenda
  15. Courtney you don't necessarily have to grow your hair out. You could use a fake hairpiece and attach it to the bottom portion of your hair to make it look like a loose type bun like Rebecca had. Or you could always get extensions. I happen to love short hair I think it is so pretty. I have long hair myself but it's b/c I don't think short hair looks good on me. But there are so many ways to use hair pieces now that you don't necessarily need longer hair to create updos. -Glenda
  16. Btw Anny do you want to move to Cabo with me and we can open up our own wedding business? We will rent most of the stuff so we will save brides money and headaches instead of having to lug stuff around. Plus we both speak spanish and english. Do you think our FI's would go for it? LOL.
  17. Ooh good idea Anny. If all else fails my friends and I always go the "Hi there my name is Jane Tenembaum and I am a Wedding Planner searching for a price for a dress for one of my clients." That always works. LOL. -Glenda
  18. Welcome Mike! First of all let me say that this resort was voted resort of the month so you defenitly picked a great location. I am also from New York and last year my friends purchased a trip on expedia.com to stay there and when they got there the place was all booked up and they couldn't accomodate them. Since they purchased through expedia.com the resort was not willing to help them out. Eventually my friend (who speaks spanish) was able to get expedia to place them at the Melias. But I just wanted to tell you about this in case any of your guests is planning to use one of those websites that sells trips. I would def use a travel agent. Also, I know that there is only one wedding coordinator there for all three resorts so that is a bit of a problem. I have heard lots of complaints about that. But the resort itself is wonderful. I would recommend using a travel agent and hiring an outside wedding coordinator to make sure your day runs smooth. Good luck with all the planning. -Glenda
  19. Christine that would be so much fun! Btw I think there is a fast food place called 5 guys that sells burgers no? I love that place!! It is so good but so oily. Ooops sorry I just remembered your trying to give up burgers for lent. -Glenda
  20. Yeah I knew you got the grape bottle stoppers (Love them) I just wanted to mention to you about the shower favor. LOL. But I guess it is dumb to give two of the same gift. Sorry I wasn't thinking. Hmm I guess you could cut the cork yourself and then put a slit into it? Maybe try it out and see how it works. It's def worth trying. It can't be that complicated. My dad is a chef so I will see if they have corks too and I will send them to you.
  21. Christine I totally forgot to tell you that I went to a bridal shower this past weekend and the favor was a wine cork. On top of the wine cork was a little figurine like a tiara on a pilllow, or a carriage. They came in a little box that read "And they lived happily ever after". It was a whole cinderalla theme. They were so cute and everyone loved them. I will see if I can find out who makes them. They might be cute to use for your bridal shower gift since it goes with your napa theme. Also look at this site: WINE CORK PLACE CARD HOLDERS- SET OF 8 | UncommonGoods They have the corks as placecard holders but used horozontally as opposed to standing up. They are $12 for a set of 8. Pretty pricey but just wanted to show you a pic of what they look like.
  22. Courtney I already welcomed you in another thread but welcome again! We are glad to have you. What part of Mexico are you going to? It sounds like so much fun. I always wanted to go to a destination wedding. I got invited to two- one in Scotland in a castle and another at the Wynn hotel in Las Vegas but I couldn't go to either one b/c I was in law school and could not afford to miss class. I am dying to go to one though. Let us know how we can help you in your plans. -Glenda
  23. Welcome! Let us know how we can help and good luck with your planning. -Glenda
  24. Jason that is so nice of you. This will be so helpful for all the girls having weddings in RM. -Glenda
