Is it worth spending the extra $.. i have to ask my planner, but it seems kind of crazy to pay and only have the ceremony, and pay extra for the reception time.. and what i just thought of it would have to be coverted from the european format to be viewed on american dvd players!! i think i just talked myself out of it!
  2. hi- i need some advise, my WC has given us prices for photographer/video... but the video i think is only for the church ceremony. i guess this question is more for the already married.... how important is a video.. does anyone ever care to watch these after the 1st yr you get married? Wouldnt a good friend with a home video camera be enough? -Fo

I have had a random cousin tell me how they went to the beach in the spring.. but that is not the norm. July is good time to go. August is crazy, but more chance of a heat wave, and every greek is on vacation until the aug15... so if you wait and leave NY after aug 20th, the flights will be cheaper and the weather is still fab, and the islands wont be as packed as in the middle of august(read every greek from queens is on thier way back by then) if you really are considering going, i can totally give you some help.. sorry for the long message
  4. I would say go for it, i think in most people's minds the tiffany look is a classic. and the light blue & white are perfect for a beach setting
  5. Hi ladies- This is my dress...I awas completed retarded when I ordered and never snapped a pic of myself, but I ordered a wide teal sash, instead of that thin taaupe one pictured. I wont be in until june..it seems like centuries away!! Wedding Dresses and Bridal Gowns | Brides.com -Fo
  6. I totally agree with all of you... I dont want to rant right now. But half the reason why we are having our wedding Santorini is that my mother's fam is in greece. I have been hearing rumblings b/c they are annoying that i'm not doing it in Athens where they all live! Meanwhile if i was having my wedding in NY i cant imagine any of them would come! I just have to keep reminding myself, that i would go insane if i tried to make everyone happy.. Just invite them all and its thier call
  7. hey- I know everyone knows about oriental trading co... but pearl river is a great place for some other novelty items like Fans, i was thinking about cosmetic bags for my MOH Pearl River if anyone is near NYC it worth the trip to china town, they have alot more options at the store! just wanted to share -Fo
  8. I'm with Tammy.. there is no way I am checking my dress..They will have to rip it out of my hands! I am thinking about flying first or business just for that reason.. My concern is that we have to change planes in Athens to a smaller one to Santorini. I just hope they dont give us a hard time there!
  9. Hi Natasha- I really love your invites, would you be able to share the specifics of how you did this?? Do you have any samples left? thanks Fo Quote: Originally Posted by NATASHA Here are ours (FYI - I have about 40 or so extra covers if anyone wants to explore this idea) - they actually looked like passports - people are still talking about them. 10. ok this may be a stupid question, but I was wondering about the postcards. Do you just send them out like postcards or put them in an envelope?
  11. Ann- those are pretty good sites! I havent seen some of them before. thanks
  12. I was thinking the same thing, 1 per couple/family in the gift bag not 1 per person.... but even then it may get to be too much. just collecting ideas now!
  13. You're totally right about the size of the wedding & transporting the only good thing about my wedding being in greece is that i have family there.. i'm thinking, if i do this i would ship some things directly to my cousin. I know that doesnt help anyone else or i send them to the planner?!?!
  14. Hi Everyone- I dont know if anyone else is thinking about Beach towels as part of the oot bags... but i just found this site, that has caban towels for $49.95 for a dozen.. Cabana Stripe Beach Towels Retail and Wholesale just thought i would share -Fo
  15. well my family is from greece, but they are all in athens...but it seems silly to bring poeple all the way from NY and have a wedding in a big city and not an island I have been to santorini a few times on my own, and my FI went a few years ago together.. and he loved it even more than I did... so it just seemed like a no brainer.. the only thing is that i do have a big family there.. so its not going to be a small DW... if anyone is interested this site has good pics of the island Santorini Pictures, Greece: A collection of pictures of Santorini, Cyclades -Fo
