Brandi as Tammy has explained the points system is for buying items but also for downloading documents. It is a huge strain on the server to have people downloading items constantly and this is a way to control that a little bit. Tammy pays a lot of money for this forum and we all get to use it for free, many similar forums (that are not nearly as helpful and are incredibly catty) actually charge their members and Tammy has worked incredibly hard (along with all the mods) to keep this place running without charging the members, vendors and if you notice there are not ads unless you are signed on as a guest. This is a huge undertaking and so therefore the points help to control the amount of people using tons of server space.

I think with DW's its different and no one really knows the rules, perhaps they would be willing to host a welcome dinner. I had my in-laws pay for our rehearsal/welcome dinner or if you don't want to do that what about a nice excursion for all your families to get to know each other, I know most things at an AI are included but I am sure there is something they could help out with. Also a thought they probably want to help they just don't know how to with it being a DW.

a contract is a contract and they broke their end of it so you should be able to cancel the dress-its like my apartment drama-I would threaten to call the better business bureau about them and their lack of returning phone calls, and customer service and they will probably suddenly be able to help you out.

They won't bug you for tips at the resort in fact most resorts do not allow tipping. Once you go off the resort they will expect tips, in fact even the lady who was selling the pictures are Dunns River asked us for a tip. Its not a big deal as long as you expect it, we had fun anyway and didn't let it bother us.
