How Will I Know if Baby is Distressed in utero?
Christine replied to Martha's topic in Random Thoughts
Martha he is just getting bigger and running out of room so he's making it! If you ever feel a lack of movement over a long period you should worry but a lot of movement just means you have an active little boy. He is probably assuming the position and getting ready. Ainsleigh finally went head down at 34 weeks, but I was told that first babies tend to go a little earlier (head down I mean) -
I don't ever remember that but either way I can imagine how she can get frustrated.

Tammy those photos are great! The eyes are stunning. Fantastic job.

Calia, I don't know that Kate ever bitched about having that many kids, I think her and Jon both have said they feel these babies are a huge blessing and in fact once they even said they felt that God gave each of the kids to them and they were all meant to be. Any mother complains about being tired, busy, etc, but I don't think she bitches about having them exactly.

However how she bitches at her husband is beyond me. You are partners I don't think she should turn on him. It's crazy. The second thing is potty training episode. Sitting a child on a toiler for 2 HOURS is wrong. I'm sorry it is. And in the dark. No thank you. Not all children PT the same. I'm a nanny and potty trained quite a few times and every child is different. To do that to a child is upsetting to me. He doesn't have to go. One child sat for almost an hour and the other for 2. Ugh I have to turn it off whenever it comes on. And just b/c you have 8 children does not mean you deserve extra attention. How many women in America have many children with no help? Quite a few. My mom had 7 and had no help. Just b/c you had that many doesn't entitle you to anything IMO. Plus I think its wierd they only tried what a year? I think (might be wrong) to have children before turning to fertility drugs. WTH? And with all the endorsements and help she does get I don't see why they get that much attention. Plus they took a weekend to NY and then a vacation alone to Hawaii? How many SAHM moms do you know who get to do that? Sorry for the vent...she just irks me! Calia, I have to comment on this, I realize you said this a while ago, but I am just getting back into the swing of things. As for Jon and Kate getting fertility treatment, she had IUI which is just insemination with drugs to induce her ovulation (hence the multiple eggs). The reason they went straight to fertility is because she knew she had a specific condition and it would be impossible for her to get pregnant on her own. They get as much attention as they do because having 6 babies at one time is something unique and different, not to mention their kids are cute and obviously people like to watch their show otherwise TLC would not keep filming them, and if you don't like it, don't watch it. She is snotty with Jon because sometimes he does not help her out enough I am sure she is stressed out, no matter how much help she gets during the day, she still has to do a ton of work to take care of all those kids and yes many women have that many kids, but not many have that many kids who are all the same age, again if you don't like it don't watch it, because quite honestly until you are a mother you have no idea what its like to spend all day with your child, let alone 8 children (being a nanny is nothing compared to being a mother, I thought I was prepared for having a child because I too nannied and am also a teacher, but nothing prepares you for motherhood) Quote: Originally Posted by Just Martha I just read in my US Weekly that Jon and Kate renewed their wedding vows in Maui on Aug. 12th. I wonder if TLC foot the bill for that also? That is exciting, when they were going to Park City last winter, she mentioned on the show she wanted to do this, I am glad they did it and yes I am sure TLC pays for a lot, but you know I bet they have to pay for some of it. Quote: Originally Posted by loveangel0610 They sure did renew their vows, how sweet! I can't wait to do that one day. I just need to make it down the aisle first lol. But I found a pic. The kids look so cute! how great! Quote: Originally Posted by Jacqueline I just read entire thread, I didnt realize some people didn't like this show for those reasons mentioned. Aw that sux, I love this show and the parents. Really though, like ErinB mentioned- you have to take everything with a grain of salt. It's a reality show and that's what they do- focus on the negatives to make the ratings go up and they see that Kate has a strong personality so of course they are going to make her the "bitch". To me I watch it b/c it's a fun cute show, it makes me laugh. Kate and Jon do really good things with their kids so the kids have memories. I think that in itself over powers kate's bitchiness. They could sit in all day with the kids b/c taking them out is just too much, but they don't b/c they are good parents. If they dont pay for it, oh well! Shoot, if someone is offering to take me and my family to Disney World, go right ahead! The kids are SO well behaved and they didnt learn that themselves. The potty thing, I must have missed that episode, I dont recall them having to sit for 2 hours. If thats true though, I also don't agree either but everyone has their own way of parenting. Some parents beat their kids b/c they pee in their pants, so it could be worse. I agree that many women (and men) have 8+ kids, (i have tons of relatives like this too) but TV approached them to do the show and it turned huge. I say good for them, luck hits people in diff ways and they got lucky imo. Lucky b/c they are able to do all these things with their family, whether its with help or not. I personally would never be on reality show, I'm just too weirded out about being on camera or film, but if anyone in my fam was approached by a tv show that was willing to pay for stuff, Id tell them to go for it! well said!

Post Here: Your Due Date/Baby Sex/Baby Name/Hometown

- It's a GIRL - Her name: Ainsleigh Madelynn - Birth Date: June 25, 2008 - Hometown: (hers) Alexandria, VA (ours) Sparks, NV -
okay I know this is random, but this reminds me so much of the Trista situation, Trista was rejected by the first bachelor, then got her own show, then she rejected Bob, who then got his own show. He didn't stick with his pick on the show, but did meet his wife through his affiliation through ABC (his wife is on All My Children). Anyway, random I know but I think its kinda funny how similar the stories are.

I had a feeling that would happen, he is a nice guy and will probably be a good bachelor.

She is just so precious!! So how is it being all on your own now? Were you freaking out when your mom left? I think it took me this long to write it all down because I was shocked at how easy the whole thing seemed, I mean the pushing sucks, but thank god I didn't have to push for three hours like some people do. I am doing okay on my own, its hard because of breastfeeding I don't get a lot done but I just started using the ergo around the house and its helping a lot. -

and some fun ones over the last few weeks bath time in her swing lounging with mom -
Hi Ladies (and gents), Its been quite sometime since I was able to sit at the computer for more than 5 minutes so since my little one is currently taking a snooze in the ergo carrier (amazing by the way for you mommies to be ERGObaby - baby carrier - back pack - sling) I thought I would take some time to update all and of course share some photos! So many of you know I was induced on June 25 after being about a week late. Ainsleigh was being stubborn but once the drugs hit me, she came out pretty quickly. I was given the first medicine at 5am at which point I was dialated to 2cm, by 8am I had moved to almost 4cm and was given one hour off the monitors to walk around to see if I could get a jump start on things. By 9am I was on the pitocin and at 5cm. At that point I told my husband to run and get my dad who was staying at a hotel near our house, since it was still rush hour I knew it would take a while, so off he went and on went labor for me. I called him a while later and told him to hurry because my contractions were getting strong and painful. They were coming on about every 2 minutes and I was getting uncomfortable, never one to be a hero, I asked the nurse to call the Dr. to order an epidural, she told me I had to finish my whole saline bag first (it was only about 1/3 of the way done-yikes). She called the Dr. who was going to do the epidural and by the time he and my husband got back my saline bag was almost gone, at this point I was almost 7cm. Things were moving along quickly. Once the epidural was set up, they upped my pitocin a bit to keep things rolling and by about 2pm the midwife who delivered me said she thought I would be pushing by 3pm, and she was right, I started pushing right after 3 and by 4:12 my daughter was born. My husband was very emotional and I was stunned it had all just happened so fast. I was sure I would wind up with a c-section so the fact that I had just given birth the old fashion way and didn't get my epidural until 7cm was a huge shocker to me. Ainsleigh weight 7lbs 14oz and is the spitting image of me, she is beautiful and honestly is a really good baby, so at this point I figure she is behaving for a while since she gave me hell while in the womb. We came home on the 27th and my mom has been with me ever since, she left yesterday morning and I am on my own now. My husband is doing really well and adjusting to fatherhood. Ainsleigh sleeps about 4 hours at a time at night and loves to eat, we have had some latching problems with breastfeeding but are working our way through it. I am not one to sit in the house so I go out almost everyday, even if its just to meet a friend for lunch. We have already had three play dates (well the babies sleep and the mommies gab). I am madly in love with Ainsleigh and am so grateful that she finally decided to join us. I love not being pregnant anymore, pregnancy is just not for me, motherhood is wonderful though. so I know you are all waiting for some photos...here you go! getting ready to leave for the hospital (we had to check in at 2am) just after the epidural all wrapped up just moments after birth daddy in love and promising her whatever kind of wedding she wants (he really said that) the day after she was born first night home swaddled up at night, the only way to sleep

Hi Girls, I just updated the first post with a link to our first annoucement with some pictures. We got home today around 11am and I promise to give you all more details as soon as I have some time to sit down and write it all out. My parents are still here and we are trying to settle in a figure out what to do...yikes they actually let me leave the hospital with a baby-what were they thinking! Just kidding she is a really good baby so far and we are so in love. -
I knew she would send him home after the hometown thing it just didn't seem like he was into it, at the end when he put her in the car she was trying to go in for a kiss and he turned his head and hugged her. He is so not ready for marriage...I am kinda thinking it might be Jason, she really wants to have kids and he is totally ready to give them to her like yesterday.

oh that sucks, can you get another dress in the same color instead?
