What do you want to know from us Married Gals?
Christine replied to NATASHA's topic in General Wedding Planning Information
A lot of you have mentioned videographer. My parents are really against this (they obviously did not have one) and feel that by using photos timed to music that is close enough to a video. My fiance wants to do a video, but I am thinking that it seems like we can have someone set up a video for at least the ceremony and save the money? So my question I guess is, do you think video is an absolute must? -

I don't think you can have your ribs taken out, but hey if you are rich enough, a doctor might do anything? -

wow she wasn't kidding about looking into photographers asap. She's a great girl, too bad, don't worry we have a whole sorority about to be getting married, I am sure we can keep you busy in SD. I know I asked you about the 31st of March? What about sometime during that first week of april, maybe if I can lose some weight I can do those boudior (spelling?) photos, but really I just want some beachy pics of my mom and me for her birthday and my grandma's birthday. I can e-mail you my exact plans for when I will be there. -

you have already helped by giving me some recommendations. I will contact Liz tomorrow. ps. I e-mailed my friend Courtney your info, she is looking at photographers this week for her wedding. She lives in Valencia, she is my sorority sister. Not sure when her date is, I believe they just got engaged but are trying to do something soon. -

just the stress of not finding a good photographer and everyone getting booked up before my parents who are super busy and take forever to get back to me. My mom sometimes makes me feel like what I feel is important is actually insignificant, but I explained to her why I feel this is the next big decision I need to make (after the guy, location, dress) because the pictures are the one thing I will for sure have forever!!! -

Leigh that is what I told my mom, since I feel like I have gotten to know you and love your pics I feel like someone you recommended must be a great person, and she agreed. Thank you so much, I almost had a little breakdown about photography tonight (well okay I did shed some tears). -

Thanks, we've only e-mailed so far, but I don't feel like I got some canned response from her. I will have to speak to her over the phone to really know, but before I take the next step I wanted all of you to see her work first... -

I only have one friend who is married and all the others are still in the dating everything that walks phase-okay that's sorta mean, but none of my friends are in serious relationships and are only excited to wear a pretty dress and bring boy of the month to the wedding.

I think you just go into the music section and upload two more songs and then it automatically changes it. I will double check with my FI-he is in charge of website.

So I am now looking for a photographer since I cannot win Jonathan's contest since my date is not available...anyway I found these people on the knot a while ago and they called me last night, I didn't realize they are a nation wide photography company and now I am worried they might be like the supercuts of the photography world. You know like the people who cannot have their own studio so have to work for a corporation? Bella pictures, Wedding Photographers, Wedding Photography What do you ladies (and guys) think. Especially those of you who are photographers...I am beginning to worry that all the good photogs are taken.

I found this on weightwatchers.com and thought it was interesting, a lot of this was posted in the weight watchers thread, but some other advice is included... Q: I eat out with a group that enjoys an entire evening of eating. We start with appetizers that we all share, followed by salads, the main course, and desserts—all while sipping wine and other fun drinks. Any suggestions on how to survive these meals on plan and still be part of the group? A: It might be easier than you think to eat out with friends and still lose weight. You just need to plan. When possible, suggest a restaurant with lots of health-conscious options so you'll have more to choose from. Set yourself up right—eating light earlier in the day will allow for cake, frothy beverages or whatever tempts you most. Don't eat so light, however, that you're starved and put away three rolls as soon as you sit down to the table. Have a high-fiber snack just before you go, to curb your hunger. Try something low-cal like an apple, carrots or black-bean dip or vegetable soup. Decide in advance what's worth splurging on and what you can do without. Having a game plan is helpful when faced with lots of tempting items. Since you're all sharing appetizers, make sure to place an order for one that'll work for you too: Shrimp cocktail, edamame, steamed vegetable dumplings and mussels marinara are all super options. Order your salad dressing on the side—or just use plain oil and vinegar and go light on the oil, heavy on the vinegar. For your main course, think broiled, boiled, steamed or sautéed rather than crispy, au gratin or fried. Consider ordering an appetizer and a side dish for an entrée instead of a main meal. You can't ask for easier portion control! Or, split an entrée with a friend. There's bound to be someone else at the table who's looking to cut back a little, too. Opt for fresh berries or fruit salad for dessert. Accompany them with a cup of flavored tea or a skim milk cappuccino—something to sip that'll keep your hands busy and out of others' treats. As for drinking, alternate alcoholic drinks with non-caloric beverages such as seltzer with lemon, sparkling water with lime or diet soda. Stick to wine or beer rather than sugar-loaded, high-calorie drinks like margaritas and pina coladas. Better yet, try a wine spritzer or a light beer. Put off ordering a drink until you have some food in your belly. Drink on an empty stomach and you're more like to get tipsy and forget about your intentions to eat well. Lastly, keep in mind that healthful eating is not about being "perfect." If you get carried away in the excitement of an evening and eat or drink more than you had planned for, don't sweat it. One night of over-indulgence won't rack up the pounds–just get back on track the next day.
