  1. ahh Amy-how cute to go through your classes at the church you were baptized in...I miss SM sometimes.
  2. Natalie I love the square cakes, that will be so pretty.
  3. I can't really work out at lunch, but I will start getting off at 4 now, so I will work out before dinner. I really wish I could get my large butt out of bed in the morning and work out, but the sleep button is my best friend lately.
  4. I think you have gotten great advice and I have nothing really to add. but just wanted to let you know that we are all here anytime you need to vent.
  5. I am so sorry you had such a terrible experience, but thank you for sharing so that other brides looking at the resort will know.
  6. I have my last basketball game on Thursday, but I haven't lost anything this week, so I need to start. I hopefully can start tomorrow. I am down to five months.

  10. I know that Jules wound up finding that it was not going to work because of the flight situation, so make sure you check the flights out of your area before you decide...otherwise I think it would be a great fun place to get married.

  12. Do you have a friend from work or someone you spend time with aside from your FI? I am just asking because I am very far away also and I took a friend from work and she was so excited I asked her to go...I really don't think you should take your FI because I know mine personally is excited to see me all done up that day. I did however have him look through the david's bridal catalog and pick out which ones he liked so I had a better idea of what he was picturing for me-of course he has no idea which one I picked, but I think that's the best part of the wedding day.
  13. LOVE LOVE LOVE the use of the monograms, I am totally trying to include my monograms everywhere in my wedding. Also what is that song, its so awesome? Your pics are beautiful what a fun wedding. You are right about her hair, it looked very cool. How wonderful you got those pics up so quickly, that is really great of you.
  14. Are you looking at this year? or next summer. I think that the humidty might be tough during the summer but June and July are very early in hurricane season, and the fall would actually be worse (August/September are bigger hurricane months, typically) I agree with Amy, follow up with the hotels you are interested in.
  15. I wouldn't think so, that would be weird. I think we will just do it for the three sets of parents contributing to the wedding, although we might pay for my FI's mom's hotel room for the night of the wedding because I don't know if she would be able to stay otherwise.
  16. Welcome Paula, yes you have come to the right place-we have quite a few cancun brides here!!! I am sure they can answer your cancun questions, but if you have any other wedding related questions please feel free to ask.
  17. Well with four sets of parents a concert might be out of our price range, but we will probably pay for their wine tour day and get a nice set of pics done for them I think.
  18. Melissa I tried that and it didn't really work, a few people did it but not many. I got mostly word of mouth ideas of who was going or not going. (eventually we changed our location though...my FI wants to do our actual RSVP's via our website, but I think that too many people would rather go with the old fashion route) but we included a letter. I can PM you the letter later tonight if you want to see how we worded it.
  19. Jackie, with an antique looking ring you don't have to do one huge center stone, and the small stones around it will cost much less so I think you can easily keep it under budget.
  20. Weddings at V. Sattui This is a really cool winery and has beautiful grounds. I have been there a few times and never been dissapointed. If it doesn't work for your wedding, at least stop by and have a glass of wine. Quote: Wedding guests can dine in a castle-like cellar lined with oak barrels and filled with the pungent aromas of aging wines. Through stone archways are four caves where bottled wines are aged behind heavy wrought iron gates. Hand-hewn stone walls, heavy ceiling timbers and wine barrels create an old world atmosphere suitable for either elaborate formal dinners or casual buffets. In front of the winery there is a stone patio with a beautiful stone fountain and steps leading down to a private courtyard suitable for ceremonies or receptions. Services can also be performed under the ivy-covered tower overlooking a lush lawn bordered by colorful flowerbeds. There are many picturesque areas for photo opportunities. CEREMONY CAPACITY: The lawn in front of the tower holds 200 seated or 250 standing, the cellar holds 225 seated or 250 standing, and the lower cellar patio 120 seated or 200 standing. EVENT/RECEPTION CAPACITY:The Barrel Cellar holds 225 seated guests, the tri-level stone courtyard holds 150 seated and the outdoor lawn and grounds can accommodate guests as well. 21. Jackie for $6,000 you can get a beautiful ring. My ring is just over a karat total weight, but the way they set the center stone most people think its a karat by itself. My ring is white gold, and came with the matching wedding band. We bought it at Jaredjared.com - home and I have been really happy with their service, I get my ring cleaned every six months for free and over Christmas time I lost a small diamond they replaced it for free at a store in another state. We actually bought Will's ring there also and have had no complaints about our rings. Total cost for my ring was $2700, we wanted to stay under $3000 and we almost managed to do that including his ring which was just over $400. I think with your budget you can get a nice antique looking ring, your wedding band and his band. You might have a little extra left over even? But that is just my opinion.

  23. his ring had to made to fit him, since Tungsten is such a tough metal so we ordered it just after Christmas and we picked it up last weekend. Less than a month I guess. We ordered it through Jared. The ring is actually curved a little, I think they call them comfort bands now? He is really happy with it, he's a pretty big guy (6'6") and so he wanted a medium width band but they have all sorts of types of tungsten bands. Titanium is similar in toughness, but we were told Tungsten is the toughest I guess.
