    a lot of people chose their date for special reasons, like dating anniversaries, engagement anniversaries. My date is the day after our 4th anniversary. We originally planned to get married on a thursday which was our anniversary, but the friday worked better for most people including our wedding party.     welcome, Maui is beautiful I am sure you will find a lot of locations there. Are you looking at the Wailea side of the island or the Kaanapali side? there is an amazing private home that is rented out for weddings on the Wailea side, its an old plantation. I will have to find the info for you. Also there is a great resturaunt that my cousin got married at in Wailea, I will have to go looking for that as well. I'll get back to you on those two locations soon.

    Lisa, I wouldn't send out your invites quite that early. Maybe send them out in May. or even the end of April. Wait until it starts getting warm and then people will be thinking more about the summer and vacations anyway.

    I have always loved the donation thing, my aunt died this past May and I know my family would get too emotional if we put this out there, but I say you shoudl speak to the foundation and find out how you can do this easily but still make the donations in the names of the guests.
