I am back on the wagon-after the lady at DB told me I need to lose weight for my dress-I have gotten up early the last two mornings to have Cindy kick my butt...and oh boy has she, I am having a hard time getting up and down today, I should just stay standing, I might need to do pilates this afternoon just to stretch out.

Jamy southwest has a codeshare with ATA airlines, you can even use rapid rewards on it, but the flights are limited and ATA does not have the greatest planes, they are old and cramped, but I have found Southwest to be so much cheaper.

this is really bad of me, but when my best friend got married, I had to fly in and the store she registered at was only in LA, so I waited until the day before the wedding and went and bought all the little things that hadn't been boughten yet, which didn't add up to a whole lot, then I bought a cool basket and put all these little things which looked like a lot of gift.

that's why instead of agonizing over it and bugging my FI I just ask you girls(since he could careless about this kind of thing, his opinion is that we already told people so why can't they just show up)

Ann and Tammy I think its amazing that your first marriages ended so peacefully, so many don't and its terrible for the family to go through. When I was growing up my mom still saw her MIL mainly because of me, but even now, my Grandma still buys her a Christmas & Birthday Present, my grandpa loved my mom and once they told me that she was their favorite DIL, possibly because I was their favorite grandchild ;o)

do you think it would be possible to make those pockets on your own? I am thinking I might need to do something with all these inserts.

I was talking to one of BM's last night about these sorts of issues and she agrees that people usually wait until they get the formal invite to do anything, so they probably won't RSVP with the STD, however I have some family that will not even go to the website even though they have computers and everything, so we are sending traditional RSVP's hoping to get more that way, we are providing links on our site for people who would rather RSVP online, but I doubt many will. As far as timing, we sent our STD's in January and will be sending out the Invites hopefully by the end of this month. If you send them too close together I don't think it has the same effectiveness, but if you send one or the other too early or too late it also looses that effectiveness.

Ann are you just putting all the inserts in the envelope or are you doing a pocket kind of thing?

yes my parents are divorced so I think anything related to their wedding could be bad luck, that is why even though they told me to melt down the gold and use the diamonds from their rings I can't do it for my e-ring because I feel like that might be bad luck.

I will scan some pics of my parents yellow and brown 1977 wedding, my dad wore a brown tux and my mom's bridesmaids had bright yellow dresses that remind me of daffodils, hence why my mother has nothing to do with colors for my wedding.

I bet they have something, hotels always have flowers out. Otherwise see if your WC is willing to buy them so she can use them again for future brides.

I have all my parents pictures and their rings because neither of them wanted any of it. My mom kept her dress for a long time but she finally sold it when I told her I would never wear it. When I started planning this wedding, my mom actually told me she was a little dissapointed I couldn't wear her dress, she is crazy she had a hippie dress from the 70's

funny how everyone used brown, my parents did back in the 70's too. Things come full circle my colors are burgandy (David's Bridal calls it Chambord), Sage Green and Ivory. My BM's dresses are burgandy FI is wearing all black tux with ivory tie GM's wearing all black tux's with burgandy ties colors printed on invites are burgandy and green centerpieces are candles in all three colors etc. etc.

oh good to know Tammy thanks, I pretty much only fly southwest. They even go to Hawaii now.
