Exciting Announcement: custom board books for children
Christine replied to Christine's topic in Chit Chat Corner!
Ann, sorry to get back to you so late, I have been out of town. Things are going well, I haven't really pushed the business a lot because I have been a little busy. But I did a workshop day with my local mom's group and it was so much fun to work on the books and they all helped me put together their own book. I learned a lot about the best ways to print the photos and put them on the pages so I can't wait to do some more books. Thanks for asking. -
Rebecca you are so deserving of this and we are so happy to have helped you out. You have been through a lot with those beautiful babies and we all wanted for you to not worry about anything and just enjoy your time with them!

Beach Wedding Locations Recommendations?
Christine replied to TnA2009's topic in Southern California Weddings
Del Mar is beautiful, I have a friend who got married there. You can get married on an overlook (there's even a gazebo) that is grassy. We love Del Mar, its an easy drive from the SD airport and of course there are tons of hotels. -

sooner born, V Sattui is absolutely one of my fav places. I have to warn you that while I am sure any wedding there would be amazing, its an incredibly busy place because its one of the last places to have free tasting and it has such a huge store and deli. A lot of people picnic there over the summer. However, I LOVE V Sattui and everytime we visit we head over there (my grandma lives in Napa and we go often)

just wanted to bump this thread, as someone e-mailed me and I had forgotten about it. I am really sorry but I am unable to e-mail this file as it is WAY too big to e-mail. But it was a huge hit and if you will have kids at your wedding I totally recommend doing it. I went out and bought crayons and put two baskets at the front table with the crayons and books. My little cousins loved them and their parents were even happier to have a distraction (as a teacher I am all about the education distraction)

Wedding is off.. Moved back home..
Christine replied to Cindy&London's topic in Just venting or funnies
wow what a huge life changing thing for you. I am sure that your family wants what is best for you and London and I have to admit that when I first started reading your story and you mentioned that he said he was sorry and wanted you both back I had a little twinge in my heart. I would hate for you to go back without really thinking it through. I know moving home to your parents was not your first choice, but why not take some time to sort things out and take things with your FI slowly. I would recommend getting professional couples counseling. He clearly has some things he needs to work through. As a mom you have to think about what is best for not only you but your daughter and of course having her dad in her life is really important but you and her dad having a healthy relationship (dating, married or just co-parenting) is the most important thing. Overall, I wish you the best of luck and please feel free to use BDW as your sounding board. You have a huge community of women many of whom have been through incredibly difficult life choices. We are all here for you! -

I don't mean to hijack, but sometimes the answers are really, really, really hard to find. well maybe you should refine your searches, think about the internet for example. When you go to google and type in "tip" do you think exactly what you want is going to come up first...umm no, actually you have to be careful about your selection. If I was looking for information on tipping, I would search the word "tipping". We also have an advanced search on this forum that let's you specify an area, a person, and even more keywords. This is a very large forum and searching becomes even more inefficient when we continue to post the same things over and over again.

Richardson's family gathers near injured actress - MSN Movies News Richardson's family gathers near injured actress March 18, 2009, 5:25 AM EST NEW YORK (AP) -- Members of Natasha Richardson's family were seen gathering at a New York hospital believed to be treating the Tony-winning actress for a reportedly serious head injury sustained on a Canadian ski slope. Richardson, 45, part of the Redgrave dynasty of British actors and the wife of Liam Neeson, was flown from Montreal to New York on Tuesday after the accident, a person close to the family, who asked not to be identified because of the sensitivity of the matter, told The Associated Press on Tuesday. Richardson's condition was very serious and her family was highly distressed, The New York Times reported Wednesday, citing two people close to her family who spoke on the condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to speak to reporters. A reporter from the Toronto Star earlier reported seeing a distraught Neeson crouched inside the back of an ambulance at Montreal's Sacre-Coeur hospital as Richardson, wrapped in blankets and with tubes covering her face, was loaded inside. Neeson had immediately left the Toronto set of his upcoming movie, "Chloe," to be by her side in Montreal, a publicist for the film said. Later that evening, a somber looking Vanessa Redgrave, Richardson's mother, was seen in photographs walking into Lenox Hill Hospital in New York City. It couldn't be immediately determined whether Richardson was a patient at the hospital. Richardson is the elder daughter of Oscar-winning Redgrave and the late director Tony Richardson. She fell Tuesday during a private lesson Monday at the famed Mont Tremblant ski resort. "We know that she has had an accident but we really do not know any more details," said Kika Markham, who is married to Richardson's uncle, Corin Redgrave. "We are very concerned." A statement from the Mont Tremblant resort said Richardson fell on a beginners trail and later reported not feeling well. "She did not show any visible sign of injury but the ski patrol followed strict procedures and brought her back to the bottom of the slope and insisted she should see a doctor," said the statement from the resort, about 80 miles northwest of Montreal. The ski resort said the instructor and a member of the ski patrol accompanied Richardson to her hotel, where they again recommended she be seen by a doctor. Mont Tremblant spokeswoman Catherine Lacasse said Richardson said she seemed fine at first. "An hour later she said she didn't feel well. She had a headache, so we sent her to the hospital," Lacasse said. "There were no signs of impact and no blood, nothing." Richardson's films include "Gothic," "A Month in the Country," "Nell" (in which she appeared with her future husband), "The Parent Trap" and "Maid in Manhattan." Trained at London's Central School of Speech and Drama, Richardson has had extensive stage experience in the West End and Broadway. She won a Tony in 1998 for playing Sally Bowles in a revival of "Cabaret." Her maternal grandparents were the actors Michael Redgrave and Rachel Kempson, and her uncle Corin and aunt Lynn Redgrave are both actors. Sister Joely Richardson is also an actress, best known for starring in the TV series "Nip/Tuck." In January, Richardson and her mother played the roles of mother and daughter in a one-night benefit concert version of "A Little Night Music," the Stephen Sondheim-Hugh Wheeler musical, at Studio 54 in New York. She married Neeson in 1994, and the couple have two sons, aged 13 and 12.

Ladies Please Don't Forget......
Christine replied to big3n09's topic in Wedding Etiquette, Traditions, to dos
I am a little confused by your post...are you saying you should thank people for just going to the wedding? I didn't have a real DW, a semi- DW and had quite a few people who did not even give us a card so honestly we did not write thank yous to them. We did make sure to speak to all 125 guests at our wedding and thank them for being there and let them know how much we appreciated them sharing our day. I also went above and beyond for our wedding and did not feel I should have to then thank them for coming. I did sent thank yous for anyone who gave us a card and/or gift. It is very tacky of those brides who didn't send thank yous if you got them a gift. Also its very sweet of you to say that you will get your thank yous out right away, and if you can you should, but sometimes things happen for people and its difficult to get them out, etiquette says that brides have 1 year from the wedding to get their thank yous out. ps. I am moving this to the etiquette and to do's section. Please make sure you post in the most appropriate section. -
Jillian Harris is the new Bachelorette!!
Christine replied to BachataBride's topic in Celebrity Gossip!
Trista was the runner up on the very first Bachelor, his name was Alex. Every Bachelorette has been from a Bachelor season, which I think says something about women's rights. Charlie was the one who is Jerry O'Conell's brother and he is actually still with the girl (they broke up shortly but got back together). I guess Mary and Byron are also still together although they haven't ever gotten married and she was arrested right after their appearance on the ATFR with Deanna and Jesse. After Jillian its time to move on from this string of bachelor/bachelorettes. Let's get some new blood! -
Yay for girls!!! Now you need a pink ticker

Calia, good for you for realizing that being in a stressful situation is not helping your realtionship (and honestly could be contributing to your TTC). Congrats to your hubby for opening his own practice, that is fantastic!!! If I lived near you, I would totally come visit him, I need my tail bone adjusted from pregnancy and delivery. okay back to topic, I am really glad your boss took things so well. Good luck on your future ventures and I am incredibly sorry about your m/c.

Hmmm, that brings up another question - what is the age that kids would use board books? I don't have kids, so I am not really sure. Is it like 0-3 years or something? Carly, I can write the story or if someone has something specific in mind I can work with them on a story. Gift Certificates would be exactly what you described, you would pay for whatever size book and then I would either send you or the person a certificate. I would imagine that older children like up to 4 or 5 would still use them since they are photos of themselves and family, but would prefer the 8x8 size.
