  1. I think the more personal you can make your wedding the more you will enjoy your day. My wedding was incredibly personal and my friends and family really felt a part of the event because they could feel our personalities in everything we did.
  2. we got two kegs and wine (various kinds of reds and whites) as well as champagne for the toast. no hard alcohol for us, it wasn't worth the cost.
  3. Julie, I was about five minutes away from buying that gown when my MOH found the dress I wound up getting, how funny is that. I had no idea that was your dress. Its a great dress. I picked the champagne purse, most likely to be used again.
  4. oh Tami the detail in your wedding dress is great, love it!
  5. are you kidding, that is amazing, you know the whole buttons down the back is the only thing I wish I would have gotten on my dress, I have always loved that look. You look great in that dress.
  6. Congrats on the good news Matt, that stinks about the beach though. I am sure you guys will find an amazing location however.
  7. welcome, I believe you might be our first Florida bride. I am in VA too!
  8. welcome to the forum, you have come to the right place to help you pick your destination. Jessalyn is actually on her honeymoon in Europe right now but I believe she got married at the Sheraton in Cabo. TammyB also got married there and can probably help you out with questions on that location. As for Key West, we have quite a few girls from Florida that might be able to give you some insight on the keys. I personally chose a US mainland location for my family, it made it easier for them and we had a blast being able to have so many people there.
  9. that's so funny you took this just for us, you are officially a BDW gal, I talk about the girls so much that my hubby just laughs now.
  10. I have the print shop 21 I think they are up to something crazy like 25, but they also have scrapbooking programs (I am surprised Lumapix doesn't have the background in thier scrapbooking stuff). The scrapbooking programs might have backgrounds like that.
  11. I have a print shop program that I use for a lot of things but I wonder if you could create something like this?
  12. Catherine, its okay to freak out. I just thought about it the other day, wow I am married, the wedding I dreamed of my whole life is over, no re-dos, I am someones wife and its all a very scary process, but think about the life you have built together, your son and all the years you have spent together. Getting married is what you have wanted so now you just have to decide how to express that love for each other. I think its such a cute thing for him to tell you to pick a number, very creative and unique. He obviously loves you and knows that you have been a very patient woman. You should be excited for this, don't get down on yourself. Start planning woman!!!
  13. Tami-where are the pictures...we're waiting patiently, well okay not so patiently!
  14. Tammy I am so happy you like the books and that the food is yummy! Glad everything arrived safely!!!
  15. http://bestdestinationwedding.com/fo...ooonnnggg.html take a look at this, on the bottom of her welcome letter she included the wording. Its right under the close up of the RSVP
  16. I think the 1st one is incredibly flattering on your bust line and waist line. The train is very long however, so that means the bustle will be a little heavy, so I think taking a layer out is a great idea. I think the first one looked great on you and you look very happy and bridal in it.
  17. Maureen, I just now got a chance to look through these, and holy crap you are beautiful in them. Your photog took some great shots. I absolutely love the one of you lounging on the chair with your FH police shirt on. He is going to love these photos, I know my hubby loves mine.
  18. try these http://bestdestinationwedding.com/fo...ing-siggy.html http://bestdestinationwedding.com/fo...oad-siggy.html
  19. Didn't Sarah (nursesarah) do something like that too? I agree that if I was going to be a guest at a DW I would want to know what to wear. In our welcome bags we put a little note about the appropriate attire for each event. Which I copied from Janet's letter.

  21. they look awesome, that sucks at the cost of postage, but its worth it for cool invites. I bet a lot of your guests will keep those.
  22. oh what a teaser, I thought I was opening a thread with photos in it. I don't know that I have even seen your wedding day dress.
