  1. yeah another Wine Country Bride. you have a lot planned and it sounds like you will have so much fun! I got married in Napa but please let me know if you need anything. I got all my flowers from Trader Joes in Napa, I saved a bundle but had to be somewhat flexible in my choices, but I was really happy with my flowers. We also did the wine tour and our friends had a blast, we rented a bus to drive us and everyone loved it. Also please keep in mind that Napa Wine Tours charges a lot more than what is on their website, they actually charge for gas, driver surcharges, etc. I found it cheaper to go with a bus and more fun because everyone was in one vehicle. My photographer Matt Kim did not charge any extra for traveling, he was awesome and so much fun to work with, let me know if you might want his info.
  2. I wanted to catch you and give you a shout out before you leave! Jilly have a blast and a beautiful wedding!!!!!
  3. looks great Shelley, all your starfish stuff is so cute, you might be in the running for DIY queen
  4. honestly, unless you live in a small town with a tanning salon, you will have to go to the corporate ones and they are rather expensive. Its incredibly frustrating but Palm Beach Tan does offer some internet discounts that you can find on occasion. Otherwise just go to the salons and see what kind of special they are running. As far as time to get tan, you will need to go once or twice a week until your wedding which is coming up very soon by the way! Depending on your skin type you will need to start off really slow, like no more than 10 minutes from the start and work your way up to 15 minutes. Also I recommend getting a bronzer lotion it tends to help the tan look a little more like you just went on vacation rather than the orange glow all the celebrities have.

I know other people have used personal days on inservice days for less important things then their very own wedding. 2. You already approved them in writing and now you are taking it back. I am in the union and I smell a grievance. 3.Don't you have better things to do then to ponder over days off that you already approved? Maureen, Stand up for your self, that is so not okay in anyway.
  6. it was a small table, I think its called the sweetheart table, but it was honestly our only alone time the entire night and I was really happy for it, also I think its easier for everyone to come say hello when you are not at a huge table with other people. not sure if that makes sense
  7. Michelle, I actually had four parent tables (we both have divorced parents) My dad sat with my step-mom's family My mom sat with all her friends who had traveled to the wedding My father in law sat with his wife and his family My mother in law sat with her family we actually arranged them so that the first row of tables was us, our wedding party on either side and then the second row was all the parent tables. Most of them seemed to be fine with it. We also then put other immediate family, like the rest of the uncles/aunts & grandparents in the third row. We did put the people with young children in the back and by an exit door (that was also near the restroom) and all of the mom's said they really loved that. not sure if you can tell how we did this with this picture but I will try to find another picture for you I hope this helps
  8. here are mine, I bought all my own stuff and did them myself. I actually shipped the vases to my grandmother who lived close by, half broke, but we make it work since I bought a ton of extra (I got them on this amazing sale at AC Moore $2.00 each) table name, candle and kissing bell close up of candle the entire dinner area what they looked at with people at them (one of my wedding party tables)
  9. Dear Trisha, Thank you for the congrats, I am due June 19th or 20th depending on what calculator you use.
  10. yes I wish I could afford to be a stay at home mommy, but I actually make more money than my hubby right now, so that's not an option, but at least I get two months and my family will be out to help a little in the fall which will help with daycare costs.
  11. um in the US it all depends on your employer, I can take up to 6 weeks and use up any of my sick time, but since I will be on summer break (I am a teacher) I don't have to use my sick time, which is what I meant by no maternity leave. Wow a year, I need to move to Cananda

  13. oh how fun, I hope you have a great day, I know this week has been a little difficult for you. Take pictures (of course)
  14. Thanks again everyone, we got official confirmation from the Dr. yesterday and have now told just about all our parents (my mom is at a conference this week, so she will find out today). So far everyone is really excited and cannot believe we got pregnant so quickly (neither can we). My dad is excited because the baby is due right around his birthday and since this will be his first biological grandchild he is hoping to share his birthday with her (he thinks its a girl) my brother is adament that its a boy (I told him he is biased towards men) Anyway, thank you again for all the good wishes, I think Will and I have finally hit the excited point! I will keep you all updated, my first appointment is Oct 29.
  15. almost all my DIY wedding projects came from AC moore. I actually got my centerpieces there and flew them to California.
  16. great photo, I bet the rest will look amazing, and he will love it. I actually wound up giving my hubby mine privately before I left for the wedding (I left beore him to go visit family) and our private moment was really nice too, but I agree I love the photos of the guys opening up the books.
  17. Natalie I am so excited for you! Have a beautiful wedding and hurry back with pictures!
  18. Heidi, what are the policies about being out, if you provide a dr. note I really don't think she can deny you your sick leave. There is a legal issue here, maybe Glenda will chime in sometime today, but her behavior is quite honestly inappropriate for a boss and seems to be borderline in violation of your own personal rights. Maybe look up some information on the family medical leave act. U.S. Department of Labor: Compliance Assistance: Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA) also, do you get bereavement time? I know that we can take off time for bereavement and that is what this should have been.
  19. you will get it all done, and you are right, whatever gets done is okay and honestly no one will know! Enjoy this last couple of weeks. It will really start flying by.
  20. Thank you everyone, I appreciate the well wishes!
  21. are you kidding, its totally not a big deal, I bought so many dresses, don't worry. You will feel amazing and beautiful on your wedding day no matter what and once you see your real dress again you will fall in love again.
