  1. Wow, those are fabulous, I can tell you were having a great time with these images! I really like the styling of these, her stylish dress and hair contrast the "downscale" location so well! Have fun on your upcoming TTD sessions. :-)
  2. Quote: Gorgeous!! Looks like a magazine shoot, or a tourist shot. "Come discover the romance in...." Sara, your comment made my day when I read it, that is exactly what I try to do! I want the images to make the viewer feel the spirit of the place to give context to the amazing love story that is a destination wedding. So many of my brides write me that we they see the pictures they feel like they are back again, reliving the day, I just love that! Jonathan, Since I still get homesick for Michigan I am jealous of you too! And of course for the Greece thing! Fannie and Galit, I can't wait for your weddings! Thanks to all who have commented, really appreciate you taking time to check it out and reply.
  3. Thank you all for looking and your comments! It really was a wonderful wedding, so peaceful and full of love! I had an hour to photograph the couple alone before the ceremony and they were such good sports and relaxed that really makes it fun! It was so cool that they had TWO great moments of seeing each other for the first time, one alone before the ceremony and another in the chapel...each was really special. Jonathan, Quote: I'm so jealous you got to shoot there! wow.. very cool. And I get to LIVE here in Yucatan, so amazing! But I do still get homesick for Michigan so I am jealous of you too. :-) Sara, Quote: Gorgeous!! Looks like a magazine shoot, or a tourist shot. "Come discover the romance in...." Thank you for saying that, you made my day since that is just what I hope to do, capture the spirit or feel fo the place as well as a beautiful love story! This couple really loves to travel so I expecially wanted a travel magazine feel to the images.
  4. ...because it was such a uniquely beautiful day! This wedding was celebrated at the incredible Hacienda Uayamon in Campeche, Mexico, an amazing location for the special day of two great people. I hope you enjoy the images! There are more images on my blog and a slideshow as well. ****scroll down to post #37 for more photos!"
  5. Hi Morgan, Yes, I think they go by the name Excellence Riviera now. That is an incredible resort! I photographed Denise's wedding and trash the dress session there (she is a BDW bride), there are pictues on my blog. Excellence Riviera photography | Elizabeth Medina Photography
  6. Hi! I photographed a wedding at the Shargri-la Caribe a few months ago, there are some photographs on my blog, they may give you an idea of what the resort is like. Quote: Shangri La Caribe | Elizabeth Medina Photography I think Lauren summed it up quite well, it is super casual and beachy, lots of tropical vegetation, wood, etc. that gives it a more laid back "ecological" kind of vibe than some of the other resorts, but at the same time an upscale atmosphere. I really liked it there and the wedding was a treat to photograph.
  7. Hi Galit! I am glad the site visit was a success. I can't wait for the wedding! I really like the ceremony location. :-)
  8. Here is a slideshow from the Royal in PDC in case it helps, the ceremony was in the gazebo and the reception on the beach. Kristi and Mark
  9. Hi Tammy, >>with all the medical bills we are facing his year.... :-( >> I hope everything is OK! That does not sound good at all! I think a really special album would be a good anniversary gift someday. (if you follow my method of giving things you really want but would never get for yourself. )
  10. Wow, that is amazing. Have a great trip, you will love Playa Fiesta, don't worry about that for a minute! Tell Lindsay and Adam I said hi!
  11. Hi Anna, welcome to the BDW forum. We met a few years ago at a seminar, I love looking at your photographs. I posted a slideshow from a Las Trancas wedding here a few weeks ago..I agree it is a wonderful location and I loved seeing your "take" on it! saludos! Elizabeth
  12. Hi Tammy, I can't resist chiming in here...if there is anyway you can swing having Juan design book for you, DO IT! Proofs are great but they are a different thing than having the history of your day told in a professionally designed and printed album. That is something that you will look at a million times over the years and it will be a huge (and beautiful) part of your family history! Your photographs are SO gorgeous, don't think twice about it!
  13. Here are a couple of pictures I found on my blog, just in case they help. best, Elizabeth
  14. Hi Amy, I have PMed you! And thank you so much for reading my blog!
  15. Hi Fly Girl, That was a lot of typing, I hope you get some Karma points or something for all that work! Just to avoid any misunderstanding I would like to point out that those prices were taken from my current 2008 packages for weddings in the Maya Riviera area, pricing is subject to change at any time. I hope anyone that is interested in artistic photography for their wedding will fell free contact me for complete, current information. best wishes! Elizabeth
  16. I read the post title too quickly and thought it said the cost of BAD photo, I was thinking that would have to be pretty cheap! LOL
  17. oooh, Annie that is a beautiful dress! Great choice! I can't wait!
  18. Hola Erin! I am so glad you logged in! You know I loved everything about your wedding, (well except the cat at 3 am) HAHA Thank you everyone for commenting! Mora, a mi me pasa lo mismo! Muchas gracias, Sol!
  19. Wow, Matt what a story, and great images! I recognized the Meson del Marquez right away...they were SO lucky it was available for their whole group and reception. I can't imagine where else they would have gone in that area. Sergio as an assistant is about like having Pavarotti as your back up singer... saludos! Elizabeth
  20. Thanks for looking...it really was beautiful! And Erin was a such a wonderful bride, that makes it fun. Susan...hablas español mejor que yo, y tengo 24 años viviendo en Mexico, te felicito. El cantante se llama Reik, la canción es Cuando estás conmigo.
  21. Hi Robin, Thanks for asking! We are in hurricane prep mode right now, but we have been through this a few times so we have practice! I am still hoping that Dean will lose strength and change course for somewhere totally uninhabited though. My worries are mostly with the people whose homes don't provide adequate shelter. best, Elizabeth
  22. Annie, I am thinking the same way! And we have seen many hurricanes change course, I think it is too soon to know! Keep crossing those fingers!
  23. Hi! I don't usually post slideshows from my weddings (don't want you all getting tired of me But since Erin is a BDW bride and had such a unique and beautfully planned wedding I couldn't help but share! For a look at Erin's slideshow http://www.elizabethmedina.com/EJ The photographs at the beginning are from the night of the welcome dinner, it was so much fun photographing Erin and Jim around the colonial city of San Miguel de Allende, one of my very favorite places in Mexico. The wedding was held at the Hacienda Las Trancas, which is very, very old with so much history and atmosphere. Todo fue Increible! best, Elizabeth
  24. As the Yucatan Penninsula prepares for the possible arrival of hurricane Dean we are all anxiously following the weather reports. I heard on the radio this morning that Dreams, Tulum has already donated 350 mattresses to the shelters that are being set up inland. I thought that was great!
