Guests scared to go to Mexico?
bride2be replied to Rkiss's topic in General Wedding Planning Information
Some of our guests were a bit nervous about travelling to mexico and now after this incident which occurred at the Resort we are getting married at (Moon Palace) - I am sure I will hear a lot more about it. I agree that bad things like this unfortunate incident happen everywhere - it just seems that Mexican authorities are prone to cover-ups. I find it highly unlikely that falling 2 stories would give you brain damage....unless maybe if he dove off.... I really feel for this mans family - they will likely never know what happened that night. -

This symbolizes that the marriage is based on the strength of the individuals.†(Groom pours a little of the blue sand in first, followed by a little more of the neutral sand from the Officiant. Bride then adds a little pink sand, followed by some additional neutral sand from the Officiant). “And now we combine the colors, which symbolizes two lives joined as one together forever.†(Groom and Bride simultaneously pour their remaining sand into the large jar until their jars are empty. The Officiant caps off the sand with the last of the neutral sand. The Officiant then holds the large jar up as if presenting to the wedding audience and places the jar to the side). Children can be included in the Sand Ceremony by giving them their own colored sand to pour in the central container. Thanks for these posts! Have you ever come across an example of a sand ceremony where the MOB and MOG do the pouring of the sand

I know this has been said a few times now - but the fact is you gave her LOTS of notice and opportunity to book the trip to get a savings. She needs to take responsibilities for her actions and realize that this is just not your problem! I'm sorry you have to go through this while planning your wedding. My dilemma is even asking a wedding party because I don't want anyone to feel obligated to spend the money to come. I have already had to tell a few people that were complaining about price that when we decided we wanted a destination wedding we decided that we would be okay with the fact that not everyone special to us would not be able to make it. It is tough because obviously this is a dear friend to you (who is acting like a horse's ass) and you cared enough about her to ask her to be a special part of your special day. I don't think there is any right or wrong answer here.

Hi and Welcome! I will be getting married at the Moon Palace in Feb 2008. It is not close to PDC but it does have really private wedding ceremonies in gazebos that overlook the ocean. As for PDC, I have heard some great things about the Riu hotels and they have one that is minutes away from PDC. Hope that helps!

Diy Favor - Help!

Like my mom and dad will probably share a suitcase so that leaves one whole suitcase for towels. I certainly hope that people will have room to take them back home - I would not like to see them left behind! -

I'm getting married in Feb 2008 and my STD's are currently in the works. However, in the meantime we got quoted a really great package for our resort which is like $2000/couple cheaper than any other price I have seen. So, I don't want to miss out on this price but need people to start booking. I was thinking I could out some sort of letter in my STD so if people wanted to book this early they could. I wish I could just send out the actual invites now but they aren't ready and I can't just cancel the STD's. sorry for babbling....

Diy Favor - Help!

So, I settled on the bath towel - I think they will work just as good -
I just had another thought - you could combine the two??

I have to say - I like the second one too! It seemed flow better.

Diy Favor - Help!
bride2be replied to pipi619's topic in Wedding Registry, Wedding Gift Bags, and OOT bags
I am doing the same sort of bag. I got my towels at Wal-Mart for $2.80 each. They were on sale and were good quality.. It was really funny cause we needed 80 towels and my mom and I were digging through a bin and had cart loads of towels...people were looking at us pretty strange! -
In my case (getting married in Feb 2008 - I will be sending out the invitations early as my guests won't have any of the travel details prior to that. Also, I need to the know numbers for our private reception. So, I'm thinking I may even send them out in August. If your guests already have the travel details and are making their own arrangements I wouldn't think you would need the replies back so early.

Translating and Authenticating Documents
bride2be replied to bride2be's topic in General Wedding Planning Information
Okay...I may be a little confused! I thought that the documents had to be translated and then sent to the Mexican Embassy for authentication. It sounds like you WC is doing all of this for you?? I am getting married at the Moon Palace - I guess I better contact them and get this figured out. Good thing I have lots of time!! Thanks for your replies. -
For those brides that have already been through this step - I am curious about how long it takes for all the the documents to be translated and authenticated prior to getting married. I'm from Canada so it may be a bit different from USA. Also, does this expire? I am getting married in Feb 2008 and if I do this now will it be expired before the wedding?? Any help/advice would be much appreciated!

Lenita's Moon Palace Wedding Review
bride2be replied to andreslove's topic in Destination Wedding Reviews
Congratulations Lenita!! And thank you for posting your review on the MP. I will be getting married there in Feb 2008. Thanks for the tip on the D.J - I had been wondering about that. Did you use any of his music or just music from your IPOD? The centerpieces were beautiful - is there a cost for those? Carolina is also my coordinator - sounds like she did a great job; were you impressed with her? Did you take a look at the other options for a private reception? I had read that there was a terrace also that is available and just wondered what it looked like. Sorry for all the question - I hope you don't mind. Oh...one more....did you feel that the resort was way too huge? Thanks again and best wishes for your married life!!
