2 months, 2 weeks, 2 days - Diet/Exercise advice?
CaboDate replied to B&G's topic in Beauty, Exercise, Diet
Keep in mind.. The gym.. will only get you so far. It's all a math game.. you gotta count your calories! I'm a triathlete and I just joined NutriSystem because I can't keep my calories in check enough to drop that last 10 pounds! That and I work really bizzare hours and need to eat more balanced! Keep your chin up.. It'll be worth all the hard work in the end. -

I fell in love with Pedregal. .it's gorgeous.. so we're dealing with the noise thing, and really not overly concerned. And trust me.. I live in Chicago and our friends are all a bunch of boozers - so as my fiance likes to say "they ain't leavin, till they're heavin".. (he's kidding I hope) My WC actually got married at Villa Lands End.. said it was fantastic. It's right next to ours.. (they had about 70 guests I believe) Our Villa is 12,000 sq. feet and has 6 bedrooms.. So we're having what would be our wedding party stay at the house with us.. our closest friends. It's a different beast then going the resort route.. but I believe a little more intimate. We decided to go this route because we had friends get married in Cabo last year at the Marquis.. It was gorgeous.. but we wanted to be a little different.

HI.. I'm going to jump in here too.. I am getting married in a Villa in Pedregal. We're having about 50 people as well.. and wanted to have our own private party. 1st off on the Pedregal noise issue.. we've had friends stay there.. and you do first get a warning. Our friends found, they really aren't as strict as you think. And it really depends on the time of year your having your wedding.. as to how much their going to crack down on you. (busier times, they're obviously stricter) We opted to take our chances.. and just rented a bigger Villa because we expect the party will go into the early morning hours. Nice thing is we can move the party inside if we have to. There are several fees associated with having it at a Villa so be aware you'll have to pay homeowners fees, event fees and such.. but for us.. it's what we wanted so we just factored it in. If you have any specific questions.. I'd be happy to help out, just shoot me a message.. and my WC gave me a list of good Villa's for weddings depending on size so I'll try to find that!

Waterproof mascara, a BM with touch-up makeup and lots of kleenix and you'll get through it just fine! Good point.. I figure with everything going on.. I may not cry as much as I fear I will.. Borrowing one of my dad's hankies too.. It serves as my "borrowed" item for the big day!

I got butterflies in my stomach this morning when I realized we're now just 2 months away.. seems amazing. But I need some advice.. Are there any other blubbering brides out there? I cry at commercial for pete's sake.. and I'm worried on my wedding day I'm going to be a blubbering idiot! Not to mention it will ruin my makeup, I don't want it to be the focus of my ceremony. Anyone have any suggestions? Or at least tips on how you handled your emotions on your wedding day?

I do know that we won't have more than 15-20 guests. I saw the Leigh Miller photos that were taken at Villa Maria and I fell in love instantly. If we can keep our wedding costs reasonable, I would love to have her photograph the wedding. But I digress... 1. How do the villas in Cabo work? Do you rent the entire villa and stay there the length of the wedding and have your reception there? 2. Do the villas generally offer planning services? 3. If your party is staying in the villa, who typically pays for it? Even with a very small wedding, staying at Villa Maria for 5 days would easily bring us over $10,000 just for accomodations. Thanks for your help guys! I can probably help you with a few questions... My wedding is at Villa Grande in October. I haven't found that many people doing the Villa thing.. so feel free to shoot me a message if you have any specific questions. Here goes. 1. We are renting our Villa for 3 nights.. be careful.. some require you to rent it for 7 days.. others simply have a minimum of like 3. We are having the Wedding and the reception at the Villa. We're expecting about 40 people.. so we chose a bigger Villa so we have somewhere to move our guests for a cocktail reception, while the caterer sets up for dinner. 2. The villa's do offer some services.. but if you talking in terms of WC planning. I don't believe so. We hired a caterer (Lazy Gourmet) and they do offer full WC services. 3. We're only having my sister and his brother standing up.. and we've got 5 rooms to fill so basically we're having our closest friends stay at the Villa with us. We are paying for the whole thing ourselves.. but again we only have our Villa for 3 nights. We're renting from suncabo.com but another helpful site is cabovillas.com. Hope this helps.. as I said.. if you have any other questions shoot me a message!!

I wear plenty of makeup for all of you!! (Also work in TV news) And my fiance loves it on the weekends when I scrape it all off and go au natural! My advice.. wear a little but be comfortable. My sister had her makeup done on her wedding day, she doesn't normally wear makeup, and was unhappy with the way it looked in pictures. I'd suggest saving some money.. have a mildly experienced friend/bridesmaid start practicing on you now, and have them do it for you on your wedding day. The likely result will be a lot less heavy than a professional! AND!!! My hairdresser here in Chicago is from Mexico, he warned me to do it myself, says they tend to be very heavy handed in the makeup department.

We actually moved off the beach.. figured a lot of the weekend is going to be on the beach.. and my WC recommended La Fonda.. says the food's fantastic!

Has anyone else been asked to do this? Thanks! How Funny.. I started a similar thread a couple weeks ago because I had made reservations at Baja Cantina tentatively.. and found out the same thing. We're getting married same day as you and was going to do our dinner that Friday night for 15, off the menu, nothing special. She told me just to push 4- 4 tops together it's a 500 dollar deposit. I asked what would have happened if we just walked up and wanted a table for 15.. and she told me we would not have been able to sit together. Personally.. they can shove it up their .. you know what's!! I think its rediculous. We changed locations.. called a made a reservation for 15.. and no deposit, no problems. Sorry to rant.. I was sooooo frustrated by this!

Thank you soo much.. That helps a ton!!

Okay All you Cabo or Mexico brides.. did you have to fill out a request of marriage form? My WC sent me one and the final question on it says The contract of Marriage is subset to Conjugal Society ( ) Separation of goods ( ) WHAT THE HECK? I UNDERSTAND THIS IS FOR DIVORCE PURPROSE, IF HEAVEN FOR BID IT HAPPENS.. BUT I THOUGHT YOU ONLY HAD TO THINK ABOUT THAT IF YOU WERE PLANNING A PRENUP. DID ANYONE ELSE FILL THIS OUT?

what kind of cake are you having?
CaboDate replied to tvt's topic in Wedding Flowers, decoration, cake, etc.
We're not doing wedding cake.. We have a yummy desert.. chocolate fudge cake with hot fudge wrapped in a tamale.. served with vanilla ice cream. We're using Lazy Gourmet.. it was one of their choices.. If I had to pick a cake right now.. it would probably be about 5 layers.. one cheesecake, one chocolate, one lemon, one carrot, and top it off with keylime pie.. I HAVE A HORRIBLE SWEET TOOTH!!!! -

They told me (Baja Catina) that it doesn't matter the occasion.. they require a deposit if they have to push any tables together! And we were planning on ordering off the menu. I've found a new place.. La Fonda.. they're being great!!

Hello Ladies.. (2 part question) 1 - I have a question for all you October Cabo brides out there.. because I can't seem to find anyone with my same wedding date. I know there's a big fishing tournament in Cabo the weekend of my wedding, but since we're at a Villa I wasn't too worried about it. Is there anything else going on I should be worried about? Why does it seem people aren't getting married that weekend? or .. am I being paranoid? 2 - Where are you all having your rehersal dinner? We were going to do Baja Cantina, but just to 'set up' a table for 15 (ie push together 4, 4tops) they require a 500$ deposit!! It's rediculous!! All I wanted to do is make a reservation for dinner for 15 people near Cabo.. I don't want a special menu, my guests will order off the menu.. but this isn't turning out to be as easy as I thought. Oh.. and my first choice.. Mi Casa.. is sold out that night for a special event. ARGH!!

centerpiece-no flowers
CaboDate replied to Golden's topic in Wedding Flowers, decoration, cake, etc.
We aren't using flowers on our centerpices either.. We're doing the sand/starfish in a hurricane.. also a hurricane of Oranges (you can do limes or lemons too).. and a very cool light box with a floating FAKE orchid in a hurricane on top of it. Since it's suspended in water.. you can't even tell its fake!! I'd post the example picture.. but I can't figured out how to get gosh darn pics on here..
