Hello All.. Well we're back from our Honeymoon.. and our fabulous wedding in Cabo San Lucas. I can honestly say it was the most amazing day of my life, and I couldn't have asked for better friends, family, or a better husband. Again thank you so much for all the advice I've gotten on this site over the last year. So here's my review.. for what it's worth. We got married at Villa Grande in Pedregal. Rented it for 3 nights, had a welcome BBQ on Friday and the wedding/reception there on Saturday. The villa by far exceeded my expectations. It had been remodeled in recent months and was beautiful. It was huge, had a great view, and was fantastic for our friends and family. If you can afford the extra fees.. I HIGHLY recommend a Villa wedding in Pedregal. I know there are some concerns about the noise ordiance, which mandates you wrap things up at 10pm. We never heard squat about it.. and the party lasted well past 1am. That said we did get married in the 'off' season (if there really is one) so maybe they're more laxed about it. Who knows. But it went off beautifully. Our Caterer was Lazy Gourmet. And we used one of their wedding coordinators, Patricia Gomez. I originally had posted about some concerns because I had some trouble hearing back from Patricia. I'll totally eat those now. She did a fantastic job! It was even more beautifully decorated than I was expected.. and the food was out of this world. It was by far the best meal we had while in Cabo for 4 days! The service was extrodinary.. and we had rave reviews from all of our guests (46 total). Any question or item I needed taking care of .. I simply brought it up to Patricia and it was done.. no questions asked she was extremly capable.. and the price was very reasonable compared to some of the other wedding coordinators we originally looked at. We jokingly called her our "J-Lo" because she wore a headset just like in the 'Wedding Planner'.. and kind of looked like her. She fit in beautifully with my friends and family and made sure everything ran smoothly. Oh.. and did I say the food was awesome. We had live action taco-stations and a host of other authentic mexican dishes. Loved it! Photographer - Bradley Fraser - He blended in so well.. you almost didn't know he was there. My husband (gulp, that sounds wierd!) is not very comfortable in front of the camera.. but by the time we got to the beach.. Bradley had him jumping off rocks for pictures.. it was pretty great. Plus he just sent me a DVD of all the pictures he took, and they are mine to do with what I wish.. which I love. And they were actually back here at home before I was! Worked out great! Rehearsal Dinner - Pancho's - my only slight negative. I wasn't a big fan of the food. The tacos were very dry.. and just okay. The atmosphere was fun and the prices very reasonable.. but food.. eh. Just okay. Most of our guests stayed at the PB Sunset.. which was beautiful, although a big secluded. My parents stayed at the PB Rose and loved it.. but it was a more 'hustle-bustle' type atmosphere.. so whatever you like. I did get my hair done at the PB Sunset salon.. and they matched my example picture almost piece for piece! Overall Things.. as you can probably tell.. were amazing! It went so fast.. and I tried to hold onto every moment.. but at least now we have great pictures to look back on. I've got to run.. at work now.. but anyone who's researching a Villa.. or has any questions.. feel free to shoot me an email. I'm still addicted to this site and now I'm in a wedding in February so I still have plenty to research! Thanks again to all!! p-s. I'll try to post more pics.. but I've never done it right.. so we'll see!

Hello all.. Just wanted to say thank you for all the advice and guidance planning this crazy adventure. Todd and I leave Wednesday for our wedding in Cabo!! This is my last night at work.. and tomorrow I'm pampering.. so I won't be back checking posts. This site has been such a huge help to us both planning for the last year, and then some. Not just for Cabo info.. but for everything.. advice on crazy relatives, to OOT bags, to dress selection and jewelry.. It's been amazing. I just wanted to say thank you to everyone.. and I hope everyone has beautiful weddings! When I get back from the Honeymoon.. I'll post a review on a Villa wedding.. I know there's not a ton of information out there for ladies researching the Villa's. Keep your fingers crossed for me!! Thanks again..

Chicago Bridal shops
CaboDate replied to jenvh's topic in Destination Wedding Dresses, Wedding Attire & rings
Hi.. Welcome to the windy.. and strangley warm Chi-town!! I'd highly reccommend Volle's in Lake Zurich.. great place.. I live in the city and still decided to go there to buy. Me, my sister, and a number of our friends bought our wedding gowns there and they have a great selection of varying price ranges and designers. Plus they're not pushy!! Nothing but great experiences on my end. -
I just called my airline (American) yesterday.. and the agent on the phone was incredibly nice. Says they love brides.. and to carry it on, they'll find room for it.

Okay.. so 3 weeks from today we leave for Cabo for our wedding. Yea.. I'm so excited. .but at the same time.. I'm stressing out a bit right now, and I'm not a stresser. My Fiance woke up at the ass crack of dawn because he kept thinking about what shirt he's going to get for our wedding day. . and I just keep thinking about 1 small issue with a guest we're trying to iron out.. But otherwise we're good to go.. Why am I getting stressed.. ? and what can I do to help deflate it.. MARRIED LADIES.. what were you doing/preparing 3 weeks out from you date!!! Please help..

No Kids -- Need advice!!!
CaboDate replied to CaboDate's topic in General Wedding Planning Information
I doubt they'd be replying to the whole vacation. Our reply card was VERY specific: Wedding/Reception ___yes ____no #attending_____ Welcome Party _____yes _____no #attending_____ The wife put down 3 for both. I just have this gut feeling she's ignoring our wishes. I hate to sound mean about it. But my fiance has tried to get us all together to do things in the past and she's blown us off a number of times (the husband is my fiance's old roomate). Then I invited her to my shower and she asked if she could bring her son along. Mom mom booked a restaurant room, actually to small for the number she invited.. so I had to tell her no.. simply because the restaurant wouldn't allow the extra bodies. (yes lots of kids were at this event) The event was in the same town as her family, her husband was at home, and still she opted not to come at all since her son couldn't join her. She's a number of years younger than me and my friends and doesn't know anybody.. so I get the feeling she feels out of place. Which is really too bad, her husband is a fantastic guy so I imagine she probably a perfectly lovely person. -

I was just looking for some guidance.. That said.. We told everyone on the Save the Date it would be a no children affair.. but we researched a good hotel with Childcare services for anyone who wanted to bring the kids on the trip.. We're having a welcome party and children are invited to that. Just not the day of the wedding. So this couple was told previously, and there was a note inside the invitation again reiterating that the WEDDING DAY would be no kids. So my fiance emailed his friend.. we haven' heard back yet. I know they're completely booked because we had dinner with them a month ago and they're making it a big trip and staying for a week. I'm 90% sure they are very aware it's a no kids function. For now I'm letting my fiance handle it (it's his friend, I don't know them well).. but if I don't hear something in the next week. I'm going to have make a phone call. I would feel horrible if they showed up with their son, and my close friends and family followed our wishes and didn't bring their children. UGH!! BTW.. I HOPE THAT DIDN'T COME ACROSS BITCHY.. TO EACH HIS OWN, RIGHT? -

So I need some advice ladies. We are getting married in Cabo at a Villa in Pedregal at the top of a cliff. When my fiance and I picked this location we also realized it would be dangerous and decided to make it an 'adults only' affair. I told my brother, my sister, and all my friends it would be best to leave the kids at home. Everything has gone well.. most are very excited for the weekend away, but we do have a few friends not going because they didn't want to (or couldn't) leave the kids at home with relatives.. So.. it is now 1 month until the wedding and we are getting reply cards back and this one couple replies 3 would be attending. I barely know the wife, and have met the kid twice. My fiance said he explained to his friend it's an adults only affair. Anyone have suggestions on how I should handle this? I don't want to make an acception for this couple because that would be incredibly unfair, especially to my relatives - not to mention a couple of my girlfriends who wanted to bring their kids. We specifically chose a hotel for our guests with nanny service so if they chose to bring them there are babysitters available. We even included a long note in the invitation about the weekend.. and reiterated no kids.. and again outline the options available. I don't know what else to do.. but I will feel awful if they bring their little boy.. and my nieces and nephews are at home.

Gown Size Question?
CaboDate replied to Jackie's topic in Destination Wedding Dresses, Wedding Attire & rings
I think it depends on the designer.. But I'm normally a 6 and my WD is an 8. On the flip side I was just a bridesmaid in a wedding and the 8 they ordered me BARELY zipped up! So I'd go at least 1 size bigger! -
Margarita/Cosmo mixes
CaboDate replied to Spazz's topic in Wedding Registry, Wedding Gift Bags, and OOT bags
We ordered similar ones and mini bottles of tequilla for our OOT bags too. (different design on front) They don't make the best margs I've ever had.. but we added a little fresh lime to them as well.. and it made them better. -

I think I found my dress!
CaboDate replied to jlink78's topic in Destination Wedding Dresses, Wedding Attire & rings
I love the first one too. I think Maggie dresses are sooo flattering on everyone! -
For what it's worth.. Like Jen.. I'd recommend staying away from NutriSystem. I'm in the process of sending my remaining food back. LOADs of preservatives.. hurt my stomach. I'm going back to my way.. it was working.. just time consuming (planning meals.)

It's funny at my sister's wedding a few years ago. The minister actually started crying. And this is not like it was someone we knew from childhood.. he had just met them a few months before. Sweet I guess.. but it made me, and my sister, chuckle.
