  1. I voted no to selling it. For several reasons: a. I am only planning to spend between 500-800, hopefully b. I am sentimental too c. I will either, keep it the way it is, make it into something, or I also liked the idea about making it into a short dress & dyeing it. It will depend on the dress I end up with.
  2. Rebecca you look gorgeous!! It looks like everyone had a great time and everything was perfect for your day!
  3. Thank you so much Rosa! I was thinking of doing this kind of invitation but the ones I saw online were so expensive, I'll definetly check out the ones on ebay!
  4. Congrats Meahgan it sounds like things went really well! I was also thinking about the mariachi band during cocktail hour, the only thing I'm thinking is what did everyone do about pics, did you wait until after cocktail hour to do the pics or did you just miss cocktail hour, (I didn't really want to miss it)
  5. I thought the same thing about dancing in the sand. Tammy, thats great that you have someone going down to dreams, I'd love to see any pictures she takes.
  6. How was everyone's weekend? Mine was so-so, we'll see how good it was when I weigh myself tomorrow! I may switch my weigh day to fridays too, because the weekends are tough and maybe that extra motivation of knowing that I lost weight right before the weekend will help keep me on track. I'll let you know tomorrow how I did!
  7. Tammy, I don't know how you're doing it, I would definetly get some wine, lol! I had a hard enough time when I had to live with my mother for a few months until I bought by house, I can't imagine living with someone else's, I'd freak! You are a saint!
  8. I agree Jackie, I didn't like the inside one's either, I'm leaning towards the beach idea, but we'll see, there is so much to decide!
  9. Welcome to the forum Melanie, let us know if you have any questions.
  10. I think they look very similar. a lot of the dresses I've seen on ebay too can be bought from this seller, but I'm always nervous on ebay with some of the sellers that I'll end up getting scammed. If you do decide to buy it let us know how it goes!
  11. I love the blue ribbon one's too, that was one of my choices for wedding colors, but I ended up going with a fuschia color. The long table is nice too so that everyone can sit together
  12. I requested some pics from Claudia the wedding coordinator at dreams about reception locations, here are some of what she sent me. I really love the beach reception idea, but I'm not sure how it will be once it starts to get dark, I'll have to think this through.
  13. TammyM, You find these things so quick!! Jackie, the first ones Tammy posted are the ones I was talking about, except the ones I saw had 1 or 2 more blades, so they were a little fuller, but they were a very nice touch to their wedding.
  14. Congratulations Sarah!!! That's so great! I also would like to lose 30 before I look for a dress, and then I'd like to lose a little more once I find my dress. We'll be so happy when we get there!!
  15. I started brewing my own coffee in the mornings, which also keeps me from buying a bagel every day too, coffee at home is just not the same as dunkins, but oh well. We are limiting xmas presents this year as well I used to go out to lunch every day, but now only once a week if I'm lucky, usually just bring a can of soup we almost never do anything, stay home on the weekends, don't go out to eat much I wish I had something at work I could pick up for more money, but I have to sell more to make more, which doesn't always work out how you want it to I almost never go shopping, unless we really need something I'm going to try those coupon sites because we spend a lot on groceries (there are 4 of us living here)
  16. Tammy, I'll figure out how to post that cake pic this weekend, I'm so tired right now, I've got to get to bed soon
  17. You could make them, but I know I'm not very crafty so I'd probably just buy them. but they sell shell molds and then you just buy the chocolate and you can do marble colored ones too, like in the pictures.
  18. Jackie the poem is beautiful. Thought I'd share this idea about the fans, I went to a wedding in philly a few months ago and they had fans set out on the chairs for us, but they had made the fans. She used very heavy paper, I think it was probably card stock, and she used her wedding colors, but a darker shade and a lighter shade alternating, and tied a ribbon at the bottom to hold them together. I think there was maybe 6 fan blades I guess you'd call them, a couple inches wide, and the fan was like a program. One blade listed the people in the wedding, one blade thanked everyone for coming, I think one may have had a poem on it. I wish I saved mine, I'd send it to you, they were soooo pretty and my description probably is so not understandable.
  19. Alright, I'm late with my opinion. 1. I really liked the idea of the placecard holder, but I have to agree that Tammy(host) made some very valid points, so maybe doing the cakes and holders seperate would be better. 2. I did a beach theme wedding shower for my sister last year and my aunt made the cake because that's what she does, I wanted a sandcastle cake, but too hard, so she did a 3 layer cake, it had beige frosting and she had graham cracker crumbs all over it and she did the seashell chocolates for it, but she did a lot of them in a marble color, so they weren't just white or just dark, that might be a better option. If I could get the damn picture to post I'd show you guys, it came out really nice. 3. I know you said you didn't like the buttercream, were there any others you liked that were lighter in color? 4. I heard fondant is really yucky, but I've never had it. I hope some of this helps!
  20. When I first started looking I was looking at all dresses I would wear if I were getting married here, and then I realized they wouldn't really look right on the beach. So I've only been looking at dresses with little to no train, not too pouffy, I just try to picture the dress in wedding pics, but I still think that you do have a lot of options. I know what you mean about having a lot of dresses you like, I have a ton, but there are a lot of similiarities between them all too. I think once you start trying on some different styles you'll figure out what you like and then you can decide if you think it will fit right with the type of wedding you're having.
  21. Sarah, I save all my flex points for the weekend too, because FI and I will usually have a few drinks. Thanks for the food tips TammyM, I too had planned to start back to the gym on monday along with ww, but those plans got fouled up by the football game, so I figure at least I started one part, I can start the gym later this week or next week.
  22. Kash & Rebecca, Thanks for the tips!!! It's nice having all of you for some extra motivation!! Lately I haven't had too much of that!
  23. Day 1 - what a long day it has been. I'm soooooo hungry right now, all I can think about is what I'm going to eat for dinner. I'll have to fill up on lots of vegetables, no points, haha!! I just want it to be next Tuesday so I can weigh myself!
  24. Congratulations Sarah! That's so great, you must be so excited! I can't wait until I can say I lost 5 lbs!
