  1. Thanks Ann & Tammy! Different websites, but they look similar, I'll have to look into them both more when I get home from work, not that work seems to matter to me too much right now since I've done nothing all day but play on this forum!
  2. Nice Job with the sea glass Ann! Tammy, do you know where you can get the starfish bouquet jewelry?
  3. oh, I'm right there with you Jackie! I'm 5 foot nothing, so I feel like I will look so little if I don't wear some damn heels! Especially next to Steve, he's 5'8", which isn't that tall, but its a heck of a lot taller than me!
  4. I would think if you get a cd with your pictures that you could easily create your own slideshow, I'm just not sure of what program you use to do it.
  5. oooh, I like the red ones! I guess you could get the tan ones and dye them yourself to match your colors as well. The plain ones might be nice though if you added some other stuff in with them, I know I've seen sea glass, that's colorful that could be scattered with the starfish, or some small flowers, something else could add color to it.
  6. I was thinking of doing the same thing! I'm actually thinking about having starfish as my main theme(?). There is a reason behind this. A few years ago steve & I wen to turks & caicos and we were swimming at the beach and there were these huge starfish out where we were snorkeling. I'm like, I want one of those! So steve dived down, pretty far, his ears popped really bad, but he got me the starfish. Then once we got it we didn't really know how we were going to take it home and figured out that once it started drying it was going to stink! So we put it back, but I just love starfish! So, last night I ordered this crystal starfish and I think I'm going to use it to make some kind of necklace for the wedding. Okay, I'm rambling now, but the point is, I like the starfish!
  7. Congratulations Christine! I thought about Napa when I started looking, you have so many great places to choose from!
  8. I haven't tried dresses on yet, but I am thinking that I will have a short train, I'm short anyway so anything I get is going to drag! But we're getting married in the gazebo, so I want to wear shoes for that, but nothing crazy, I really want to wear flip flops, maybe the ones that have a slight incline so I'll be a little bit taller, but do you think flip flops are going to make a lot of noise walking down the aisle? I can see it now, walking down and all everyone can hear is the flip flop sound of my shoes!
  9. We would really rather have cash, we already have a house, and most of the stuff we need to fill it, but we want to put an addition on within the next couple of years, so money would really help! But I think we'll end up registering at macy's & linen's & things, because we have both stores close by, but people can also order online. I was thinking about doing the honeymoon registry too, but we'll see.
  10. Yes, he emailed me back yesterday, a very nice email, his prices were very reasonable, his pictures look good, and he is going to give me some references to contact as well. I'll let everyone know how it goes with him. You get a TON of pictures from him as well and it's a two person team that does the photography.
  11. yes, I've seen her work she is very good, I wish I could afford her.
  12. Thanks Christine, that's great for all of us trying to do everything possible online!
  13. Tammy, do you know anyone that has used michael maurus photography? I emailed him for pricing and he's very reasonable and already in cancun, so not much travel expense. I just wish I knew of someone that had used him.
  14. When I first started planning I was planning on doing the legal part in mexico, but then FI said why don't we just do the legal part here. At first I was very against it because I felt like it was going to take away from our day, but the more I think about it the more I know it's going to be way easier and I know we aren't really going to feel married until we are up at the gazebo on our wedding day saying our vows. The whole process of getting everything translated to spanish and then back to english is just way too much for me to think about and I know something would go wrong, it's just my life.
  15. welcome! Let us know how we can help!
  16. Christine, those are so sweet! It makes me sad that I'm not going to have all my girls in my wedding!
  17. I picked the beach chairs, because I think they're fun, but I like the monogram one too
  18. Hello, Welcome to the forum! I'm getting married in Cancun too, at dreams, I don't know very much about Riu, but there are some Riu brides on here, I'm sure they'll be able to help!
  19. Hi Brenda! I'm so glad to see you here! Thank you for all the pictures you emailed me and the information, I really appreciate it. I think you will find tons of information here to help you with the rest of your planning and I'm sure you will be able to help us too, I'm so glad you're getting married at dreams before me, it will be so great to hear all about your wedding!
  20. Welcome, I'm sure you will find lots of helpful information here!
  21. Welcome! I'm so jealous & my Fiancee would be too if I told him. You must be so excited I can't wait to hear all the details.
  22. At first we planned to have one, but then after thinking about it, it was going to be another expense that we didn't want. Now we're talking about having something simple & casual before we leave, in the place of a shower & AHR, the only reason we're considering this is because we think there are a few close family members that we don't think will be able to afford the trip & some close friends with small children that also may not make it, but I'm going to enlist the help of my sister & friends to plan this part for me, as much as possible. I don't want to have anything else to do when we get back.
  23. I'm getting married at Dreams Resort & Spa in Cancun, next October. I chose Dreams because I've heard that they do wonderful weddings, they allow children, the resort is not enormous, but big enough for everyone to have some privacy, & I also wanted to keep the costs down for my guests and dreams was more reasonable than a lot of the others I looked at. I have a lot of information, some of it is posted on this site, but I have more I can email you if you're interested.
  24. I just remember staring at the ring, totally stunned, for what seemed like an eternity, and then I remember him saying in quivering voice, "you haven't said yes yet" I didn't know what to say, it was very unexpected, but of course, I did say yes!
