  1. I know most of you are having your wedding at an AI and don't need to worry about this. But for those who are not and are opting instead for a corkage fee, I have a few questions for you: How many guests are you having? What kind of liquor are you getting? How many bottles (of each kind) are you purchasing? We are thinking of having a signature drink during the cocktail hour. Most likely margaritas, since i have a great contact for tequila in Mexico. (my cousin has a good friend who makes it!) Any other ideas?
  2. Thanks Amanda! Do you mind posting a picture here?
  3. Hi Martha, Melissa (mgreen) is a Riu Vallarta bride. There are two hotels side by side, Riu Vallarta and Riu Jalisco (one is new). They are just outside of PV in Nuevo Vallarta. They are ocean front and you can def swim in the ocean. Here are some links to Riu Vallarta/Jalisco. http://bestdestinationwedding.com/forum/t4057 http://bestdestinationwedding.com/forum/t2709

Aww leigh, I'm sure that even if you were sick during the actual wedding, your pics would still come out perfect!

  8. No problem! I found the website for the Sams Club in Mexico! We are purchasing all the liquor so I'm trying to find prices. Here it is for anyone who can understand Spanish Desee lo que desee, descúbralo en SAM'S CLUB

  13. For those of us who can't quite shed those extra five pounds... Quote: How To Look Thinner in Photos Fri Apr 6, 2007 10:24PM EDT See Comments (91) I'd be lying if I said I've never been tempted to destroy a picture because my eyes were closed or because the camera definitely added those ten pounds. I came across a few articles that answer that nagging question most of us have contemplated: Why does the camera add ten pounds? Blame it on lighting. Slate says "The flat, even illumination on the red carpet makes it hard for the camera to capture dimension, unlike in a photo shoot with flattering soft lights. Cast from an angle, light creates shadows that sculpt the face and body by hiding unwanted flesh. Softer lights can hide wrinkles and smooth out the skin for women, while harsher lights on male faces exaggerate lines for a chiseled look. Without the aid of shadows, however, light exposes the imperfections of the face and body and makes the resulting image bigger and flatter." Thanks for the insightful explanation, Slate! Unlucky for us, we don't have the luxury of having our own lighting technician casting light in all the right angles. Thankfully, the beauty section over at About put a list together revealing five red carpet secrets to looking thinner in photos. Here's the gist of the list: Turn partially sideways, planting one foot in front of the other. Pull your head forward to eliminate double chin. Hold arms slightly away from the body. Take a deep breath as you pull your shoulders back, chest forward. Look away from the camera, then turn towards it, breaking into a smile before the camera clicks. Wear an entire outfit of just one color. Here's what I say: You're beautiful. Embrace every bit of yourself. Ten years from now, those "extra" pounds are not going to matter. What will matter is that a special moment with your friends and family was captured on film. But...if you're really that worried about looking slim in photos you could always try out one of those cameras that digitally enhances your figure, or this Photoshop tutorial. Any professional photographers out there willing to gives us a few more tips?

I contacted them a while back and they said that the estimate is per wedding so they don't post their prices. To me, that just sounded like $$$. I'm not sure why. But then again, I have family in Mexico who are going to help me with flowers and I don't want to pay for a "designer"! I think I have some more info for other florist, I just haven't contacted them since I'm still not sure what I want (and the wedding is more than a year away). But I do have this contact on hand, Puerto Vallarta Wedding Floral Designer Vodax Flores. This wedding coordinator seems to use them Prisar Vallarta - Beach Weddings and Tropical Honeymoons in Puerto Vallarta - Weddings and Events Organizers, Planners and Consulants in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico

  16. Oh gosh, Tasha! Please stop posting those amazing shots from amazing photogs! I swear I am going to throw a tantrum if I can't figure out a way to get one!
  17. Thank you so much! I really do like Anthurims! They are a flower/plant I've considered. Actually, this is what I was thinking for my BM's
  18. Thanks Anny. I really do like them but they completely through off my "vision" haha! At first, I really wanted a rustic, iron candlelabra, which I was planning on getting made in Tonala (close to Guadalajara). But that would clash with the chairs so now I'm trying to find something that won't clash!
  19. They are located in PV. A little too pricey, but they have great pictures for floral arrangements! I love this one ROCCO flower designer roccodesigner.com
  20. Palm leaves would be a great idea! Thanks Edyta. I've also found a site in Mexico where you can order bamboo in bulk and thought I could incorporate that aswell. The issue is, I can't put together all the ideas- you know, I can't get "the big picture"
