My cousin is sending me ideas of centerpeices, (she's in MX) but she's saying that the flowers may be really pricey in Vallarta and says that we should either do some sort of centerpeice with candles and a small amount of flowers or use fake flowers. I really don't want fake flowers, so I'm trying to come up with an idea of centerpeices using something affordable. But I have no clue how much flowers run in pv. I'm going to try and contact those flower vendors (bulk) which Merryme psoted a while back and let you all know what they say. I would love that!

I am hoping that I can do it for a bit cheaper, though! Thanks ladies! Do you know which florist your WC used or are using??
  5. I got this from they yahoo forum. I never really contacted any though... Vallarta Wedding Coordinators.doc
  6. I really don't want to spend more than $1000. I'm planning to begin my search next month so I'm going to try to stay away from anything more than that.

My only issue is that it might be a waste of money having lounge set up so far from the dance floor. I'm afraid ppl my go and hang out there and not dance. My plan is to keep ppl dancing, haha! But I have thought of that too, thanks!
  8. Beautifull Anny!!!! I want (need) to see more pics of your reception!!! did you end up doing the lounge area??
  9. I have new clue how to compare flower costs in Vallarta (centerpeices, bouquets, etc.) How much are you spending or have spent on flowers? Thanks so much ladies!
  10. Lizzy, what size is Medium?? Can you describe it for me. I'm planning on ordering these but can't seem to picture the size. THanks

I'm trying to give our WC an idea of what we want to do. Thanks so much!! we are having our reception on the beach. The location fee includes a dance floor. Have you thought of renting one? this is the standard set-up at the Mayan in PV

Edna, did you end up going with PrisarVallarta?
  13. Jamie, I have a list at home. I'll need to post later. Have you tried Prisarvallarta.com Her weddings seem pretty nice. I believe Edna (Mora.. I think) is using them.
  14. Ann, I've always been afraid to post on the knot. There are quite a few brides who are very unfriendly. I was just searching for pics of starfish place cards (set up) and there was a post from some PITA (animal rights) type post! I mean come on! Then they are so territorial. "If you post my pic or my idea of something i did or will do, make sure to give me credit" Ladies if you want to use ANY ideas that I have please go ahead and there is no need to say - from BDW-er Amyh. We are here to share and gather info for our weddings. I love how friendly everyone is here and have no idea how I would get through this wedding with out you.

I have been in weddings where the ladies get something and men get a different plate, so that might help, in case somebody wants to switch ..... - and for kids, I am pretty sure you can ask Marco about a Kids Menu... they probably have chicken fingers or burgers for them... thanks Edna! I'm so happy to see you back!

If I remember correctly, the national bar is per hour per person?? ours was only per person and the impression i got was that they would serve untill we ran out of liquor. We are big drinkers. Thats why we ended up going with the corkage fee.

I'm not sure if it is standard. You should ask him. it was actually in the final proposal not the the initial break down he sent me. as for the liquor, we are getting it at Sam's club. The corkage fee is per person. we are getting it for 6-7 hours I believe.
  21. Amy, I believe Edna posted (on yahoo brides) that she is having 2 ceremonies, a Catholic Church ceremony and the civil ceremony will be on the jetty. About the menu, since your having a buffet or stations, I don't think you need to finalize it to early. Just what Marco reccomends. Our package includes a tasting once we arrive in PV a couple days before the ceremony, but I really want to make menus for each table or plate so I need to at least month before so that I can make them. However I did ask if we could have 2 types of plates. He said that was fine but we needed to give him a count ahead of time. So if we decide on this latter option, I'll need to ask our guests on the RSVP/Response card which will go out with the formal invites.
