Funny.. we are constantly asked "why 4th of July"? here was our thought process.. we needed to make sure it was summer break (for those with kids and those in college) it needed to be early summer, since its rainy season in Mexico and the later summer you wait the heavier the rain. we wanted a Friday wedding since we assumed most guests would leave on a Sunday and didnt want people rushing the day before they leave. so this left us with either the last friday of June or first friday of July.. which happend to be the 4th of July. We thought it would be fun, gave us an excuse to get fireworks for the wedding and we thought it would be great to always have your anniversary off!

Thank you Jamy, Kash and Andrea (and all your hubbies!) Hans and I had a great time last night! I woke up so full and now need to try on dresses in less than an hour! (too many garlic rolls, hehe!) We must do it again!

Hi ladies! okay, I'm 10 months away and I'm not sure what I should be working on now. So far, we've done a lot (I think) Set date, sent STD's. Booked reception location, photographer and band (and sent deposits to all) Purchased Starfish. I've started my search for invitations, my dress, and bridesmaid dresses. we are begining to get our paperwork ready and start our pre-cana (?) classes for our Catholic ceremony (we can book the Church in November once we have everything set. okay, now I have some questions: when is it too early (or too late) to book a florist? I've booked the band so far in advanced, should I email them from time to time to check-in or just have the WC at the Mayan do this for me? I have no clue what to do next. We've done most of the major things, but what are those little things I should be considering? TIA!

Most of our budget is going to our location which includes food and non-alcoholic beverages. Not to say that the Mayan is super expensive, but we are having a ton of guests (more guests = more $$$) then, i would say the travel (including honeymoon), photog, live band, alcohol.. in that order.

Is your sister near you? You should have her see you in the dress. I tried on this Pronovias dress this weekend and loved it! I went on line to find it and the picture did not do it justice, honestly, I would have never tagged it by viewing the picture alone. I think you should definetly reconsider, I mean, Reem Acra- I'm sure its a beautiful dress!

I'm sure there is someone! Try googling it! or fly leigh in or any other photog! Do you ever travel to the US? Maybe you can schedule a date when you come down here.

Edna- take a look at Leigh's website.. Leigh Miller Photography they are Boudoir Pictures and many of the girls have made books and gave them to their FH on the wedding day.. I want to do them too! I KNOW Hans will love them!
